They've done a great job on my Goldendoodle. Easy booking. Quick service. Reasonable pricing. Fully recommend.

Pleasantville Grooming - Female Havenese bandaged tail

    Pleasantville Grooming

    (22 reviews)

This is disturbing and I am including graphic pictures for those who are sensitive but I need to…read morebecause my husband and I are in disbelief, anguished over this... I wanted to share this because I know as a loving fur parent you would want to know. ALERT for all pet parents- Do not use Pleasantville Pet Inc. grooming services. On 6/28 we had our 3 dogs visit and the worst pet parent nightmare occurred. The groomers do not know what they are doing! My male Havanese's ears were shaven down so low that he suffered clipper burns and needed vet attention. His cut was shameful and not to his breed. My Maltese-bischon and female pure-bred Havanese was also given a hacked cut- not to breed standards. They charged us top dollar and we paid 300$ including a tip. This story gets worse as to what happened to my sweet sweet female pure-bred Havanese! They sliced her tail down to the bone and she needed TAIL AMPUTATION surgery today. Essentially she has lost two inches off her tail! She suffered unnecessarily that day because the owner and the female groomer (Wilson and Rosa) dismissed it as simply small "accident" a "nick" when they were trimming her tail. What is so disheartening and disgraceful is that they were not forthcoming or HONEST about sharing what was truly done. The way we discovered it was that my dog immediately came running to me from the back room with BLOOD streaking down her back. The owner looks up from his cell and say matter of factly-dismissing it with his hand, 'oh ...that's just a nick from when the were trimming her tail". Cruel and dismissive! I asked the woman for more details and I could not get a straight answer! In fact, the woman never admitted to what she really had done at that moment, never informing me knowing the gravity of the injury (Again-we had just spoken on the phone prior to arriving to store) and they NEVER offered to take her to ER Vet or anything. THEY PLACED TWO BAND-AIDS on her tail!! My husband and I feel like fools for taking what they said at face value. WE PAID and just left wanting to take our dogs out of there. When we took our sweet fur baby to the vet, to their astonishment and disdain it was revealed she was SLICED DOWN TO THE BONE. We did go back and confronted the woman groomer. The owner didn't even offer to speak to me nor did offer a full refund at that time. The woman groomer did admit using a "blade". I told her that since she had the knowledge of what she had used she must have known, she should have told me immediately and taken my dog to the vet or informed me so that I would have. Such negligence and incompetence...this is not best practice and if she would have reported this my dog would at least have had a better chance at healing. These two weeks my Havanese was running a fever and has had two different antibiotics as they had to start aggressively treating the infection she required frequent check-ups, every 2-3 days to see how she was healing and to change her dressing. On top of this pain meds were needed. My dog is so sweet she does not whimper or complain, she just sat there by my feet looking sad. She is an innocent! My poor baby suffered in pain for that day unnecessarily, because unbeknown to us of what was really done to her. This establishment is not operating accordingly to law and is not reputable. They claim they do not have insurance (violation of law that passed in 2015 regulating grooming businesses to safeguard for these reasons because animals are being disfigured and killed). The Westchester department of Health states they have a license, however the groomers need to be certified, trained (none on display); They should be taking documentation of vaccinations (did not even ask although I did produce copies) they needed to have taken my dog to the vet immediately (They did not act or suggest option) and they should have submitted a report of the injury -they have not...All this leads to this conclusion they are not reputable and sorry to say may be in it only for the $$$. They did not give us a refund of our money. Many in Pleasantville and neighboring areas use them and I want to share the terrible experience because of the tragic circumstance my poor dog has had to experience TAIL AMPUTATION. Please share! SO FUR PARENTS BEWARE.

I hate to write a bad review. I myself am a health professional and know how damaging a negative…read morecomment can be, and that many are erroneous. But I must write this, in order to protect the community of dogs and owners This establishment"groomed" my 7 year old Cavapoo and took a chunk of fur and some skin while doing so. They called me back in to suggest that the injury had already been there! And, there were other nicks that did not draw blood or leave marks. I don't know what to complain about first--their carelessness and harmfulness or their dishonesty. DO NOT HAVE YOUR DOG GROOMED HERE.

Pets a Go Go is truly one stop shopping for any and all pet care you need. I'd give them more stars…read moreif I could. I've used PAGG for dog walking, taxi service, grooming, daycare, training and overnight care. My husband and I adopted a dog 7 months ago and arranged for a daily Monday - Friday dog walk the moment we brought him home. Bryan is our walker and I've had the opportunity to observe Bryan with our dog (Bowie) the 1 day of the week that I work from home. Boy, does Bowie love Bryan! Bowie, like most dogs, will be apprehensive if someone just walks into our house. But, not with Bryan. Bowie runs to him with tail wagging knowing full well he's about to have a good time on a nice walk. Bryan is professional, timely, very pleasant and a trooper with the best of attitudes (even when it's pouring rain and he's soaked, he's got a smile on his face). Bryan leaves us a note every day so we know how Bowie was and what he did so there's no mystery when we arrive home. I couldn't be happier to be in Bryan's territory. We've also sent Bowie for daycare and overnight care. I've visited the facility and noted what a clean and fun place the dogs have to be in. We've also taken advantage of the taxi service which really is, as PAGG's website says, the ultimate in convenience. Taxi service is timely and dependable. One if the best things about daycare and overnight care is when your dog is returned and you see how sated they are. Bowie is SO mellow for a day or more after returning. It's no wonder though as you know he's having so much fun running around and playing while staying on site with PAGG. Bowie is a German Shepherd mix so he doesn't require complicated cuts, etc.. but he sure does shed. The furminator treatment PAGG provides really does the trick and he always looks so good and smells great when we ask for him to be groomed while staying on site. PAGG really understands that our pets are our family. Nicole who owns PAGG is the most responsive and professional service provider I think I've ever had the opportunity to hire. And, being that the service is for our furry family member, the responsiveness and "can do/no problem" style really is priceless. Nicole runs a tight ship and you can feel confident that your pet is in the best of hands. I feel truly lucky to have access to PAGG. If you are considering becoming a client of PAGG, I can promise you that you won't be disappointed!

No videos to see how my dog is doing and I thought the owner could be annoyed with my checking in on my 18 month old puppy. I liked that they required Bordetella vaccine and fecal test every 6months I was correct though the owner Nicole was annoyed by me calling and asking her staff to watch over my baby , I'm just an over protective pet mama who loves her dog so much. I was the same way with my previous dog as well. I was told today not to come back with my baby 18 month old dachshund because I am too much of an overprotective mom and it puts too much pressure on her staff and I guess her as well. My outlook is it was meant to be. But I will agree with any bad reviews of the owner Nicole being rude otherwise for that not a bad facility.

Although it was convenient, it definitely was not easy (my dogs are cray) and I'd rather just pay someone to clean my dogs for me. They do have everything you need, though. The tubs are high and they give you instruction on how to use the soap and water and blowers. They provide you with aprons and as many towels as you need but again, we have Shibas and when they're shedding, it can be horrendous. Which brings me to about a month ago when I was searching for a groomer that could really make a dent in their shedding issues. Shibas don't really shed badly throughout the year but when spring and winter come, they have what can only be described as fursplosions, where they shed their undercoats and the fur comes off of them in tufts. It's crazy. Their butts look like shapely little Corgy butts, the Kardashians of the dog world. I requested a quote through the Yelp app and Dana got back to me super fast. I ended up making appointments for the next day. They offer the Furminator treatment for an extra $10 and it's worth every penny. We've gotten our dogs back from other groomers and you can still see tons and tons of fur coming off but this is probably the first and only time we've gotten our dogs back home and after petting them a few hundred times, not one hair fell to the ground. They got ALL the shed fur, ya'll! That like, NEVER happens! The cost is reasonable, about $45 per dog which is a little bit more that what we've paid elsewhere but I don't mind paying if they're getting out every single shed fur that exists. We don't have to bring them often so I am definitely going to use them again.

Interesting that every time I go the price increases but the facility is showing signs of ear and tear. The tiles in the tub are falling off in several spots. Abundant towels are not provided and there are no temperature controls on the water values. The cost the past three times has gone from $14 to $18 to now over $20. There is still customer value in this business but my advice is to instill consistent pricing, fix anything that breaks, and put the towels out...
