We are visiting from out of town and wanted Chinese food for takeout. My husband and son (11) shared the shrimp kung pao. I loved how the veggies were chopped up small, wish it came with a bit more shrimp but for the price it was good and it tasted great. They gave us a TINY portion of white rice, had I known I would have ordered a side order of more. I got a combination dinner and I felt like the portion was small for the price. The bbq pork was only 5 pieces, the almond chicken was only 4 pieces and the noodles didn't have a lot in there. But everything tasted really good and I was thankful the meat wasn't gamey like some restaurants. My chicken was white meat and the bbq pork was perfection! The food was good. We got the Szechuan beef and the beef lo mein. We came in after, tubing all afternoon and tried for their dine in option. it was a bit too much for our 2 year old. I think he lasted maybe 15 minutes but in that time our order was out and we had started eating. They were super kind and accommodating and helped box up our food. read more

With a bit of trepidation, we came to Wah Hing, when passing through Kellogg. Cantonese food can be divine... this was ok. It was comfortably familiar but we wish it had been a bit better. The hot and sour soup was plenty sour but not too spicy. The lunch special #6, as recommended by our server, was fine. I am not inspired to use adjectives. The eggroll was all cabbage; they waved a carrot over it so there were some carrot bits. It was crunchy and crispy. Not bad. The pork fried rice tasted odd. Couldn't taste the rice and the BBQ (?) pork bits, what we could taste, left a chemical aftertaste. The mandarin chicken was fine, drowning in sauce but the chicken was tender. The highlight was the eye-watering, sinus clearing hot mustard accompanying the egg roll. If grabbed our attention! We used it for the chicken, too. The portions were generous; more than we could eat but enough for most. The staff was terrific (Friendly, helpful, efficient. This place is LARGE! The entry looks like it was originally a small restaurant but there's a huge dining room off to the right and a bar and lounge off to the left. We were sated. We did not come to Kellogg to eat cornflakes so gave this place a try. A solid three stars. read more

Oh Wah Hing, you are and will always be one of my favorite restaurants ever! Between the wonton soup and beef curry, I could absolutely live here. My kids are all huge fans too! A favorite pass-time for us would be our monthly family dinners and then taking leftovers to work to make all our coworkers insanely jealous! Everything is always fresh and the people who work there are all so friendly and knowledgeable. I made myself hungry just thinking about it! There's plenty of seating so its a good place to go if you've got a big group and they do family style dinners too. The service was horrendous. The waitress attitude was totally distasteful and food was awful. Meat was not properly cooked very mushy and undercooked. The way it looked was unappetizing looked like pure slop. I had two bites and almost puked.. Not to mention the prices were ridiculous for what you get. I explained what my concern was, they rolled there eyes and did not make the situation right instead gossiped in the kitchen and then approach me by yelling and making a big scene in the restaurant. We were just passing through town and decided to check out Wah Hing, and boy, am I glad we did. Firstly I need to tell out-of-towners this place is not easy to find. It is located in the heart of old Kellogg (which is very cool btw). Don't let the looks fool you, despite the rather humble store front and interior, the food and service are excellent. We ordered a family style dinner with Lemon Chicken, Broccoli Beef, Kung Pao Shrimp and Pork Fried Rice. It comes with soup and appetizers as well. The Hot and Sour soup lives up to it's name with plenty of chicken, tofu and veggies, I loved it. As for the appetizers- the BBQ Pork was moist and tender, the Eggrolls were huge homemade bundles of veggies and meat and the Won Tons were nice and crisp. Our entrees were exceptional- the Kung Pao Shrimp was delightfully spicy and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. The Lemon Chicken was a standout, tender, juicy chicken breast pounded thin but not too thin, dipped in tempura and fried quickly then served in a luscious lemon sauce, truly divine. The Broccoli Beef was very good as well with tender strips of beef and fresh broccoli. The service was fast, efficient and courteous. Whenever you come to Kellogg you have to try this place, I only wish we lived closer. read more

I'm not gonna lie, I didn't have a good feeling about this restaurant as it's in the middle of no where in a completely mid state (sorry Idaho). But let me tell you, this place really had me Wahing and Hinging, the food slapped so hard that I didn't know how to act after eating. Wanting to recommend this family run restaurant to anyone traveling to Kellogg or staying at Silver Mountain Resort. We came out for a ski trip and like to support local establishments. Food was delicious, quick, and plentiful. After a day on the mountain, was nice to get take out and bring back to the condo. There was plenty of seating for dining in as well. We ordered the kung pao chicken with a side of broccoli for pick-up. The chicken dish was very little chicken with mostly peanuts, cubed celery, and peppers in a watery, tasteless sauce. Then they charged $15 for a side of cooked broccoli the size of the entree. If that was our only option for a side we would have just ordered another one of their actual $15 entrees. We stopped by on a road trip and I was pleasantly surprised to find that there is a Chinese restaurant in this town. I got a hot and sour soup in a cup and a beef noodle soup bowl. The noodle bowl had a generous amount of beef and it was very tender meat. I also like that there was plenty of veggies in the noodle bowl. Wife and I are new to the area we came across this place per "yelp" didn't see many reviews but we figured what the hell will lets go! Food was really good it came quickly not a long wait at all, service was excellent from our waitress she seemed busy being the only waitress on at the time my wife and I where there, she did excellent with keeping up though. I would recommend this place for others to come and eat seemed a bit pricey for 2 entrees 1 appetizer and a side to lo-mien at $50+ but service made up for it and portions are very generous so I have no complaints. Hope this helps others with there decision to eat here. TWO THUMPS UP! read more

Pretty good. Went for lunch and just beat the crowd. It was busy. Sat in a clean comfortable booth. Had both servers trying to take care of me. Seriously, there's plenty to go around. No need to battle over me! Got my hot and sour soup. It was, as yelpers have said, very good. Then came the kung pao beef. Kinda disappointed. Although the veggies, mainly celery, were crisp and fresh, the beef in it was limited. It was hot and fresh but it was really just a stirfry beef stuff. No distinguishing it from any other stirfry. Except a few peanuts. Really pretty bland. But lunch was $9 and you did get a fair amount. If I'm in Kellogg again around lunch I may give them another shot. Or not. read more

Average American Chinese. Been here twice. Each time I've found the dishes to be larger, have more of a fresh look and taste, then your average American Chinese. Pros: Service is quick and good. Portion sizes are large. Cons: Lemon chicken was mostly breading with very little actual chicken. Mongolian beef was mostly veggies but tasty. BBQ pork was dry. Overall, there are few options in Kellogg so maybe I have high expectations being from southern California, but I would suggest driving on to wallace or even Coeur d'alene for better food. read more

Yum, good Chinese food in the Silver Valley. My favorites: Moo Shu, Hot & Sour soup, General Tso's, and the combo appetizer. Easy drive from the highway into a Bavarian town, I mean Kellogg. (The town tried to redo image years ago by adding Bavarian murals, funny sculptures and window boxes with fake flowers) Street parking, but a large lot right across from the restaurant. Ok so of course I went back cause my awesome girlfriend lives here, called in an order so I could have lunch/dinner for work. After we go passed accent issues, I came in and picked up my food, everything was just as I asked, lady was friendly and polite even when I used wrong expired temp credit card and got declined. She noticed I used a temp card and politely mentioned that, I then used correct one and added a nice tip for not embarrassing me.
