Heard the pork noodles were good and the pork buns so ordered those, as well as a jasmine milk tea. The wait was a while as there was only one person working maybe 30 minute wait for everything. I am so so SO glad i went here early on in my Moscow stay because now I can come back. The food was wonderfully done, highlights being the pork noodles. So incredibly chewy and flavorful. Great portion too. I will be back to try more bun/noodle varieties, curry wasn't my fav but the shrimp potstickers were different than expected in a most delightful way. Boba pearls were undercooked for me, but couldn't be bothered to knock it down even a little the food was THAT good. Got the mango pudding to go and was also a highlight, just perfectly decadent and addictive. Such a lovely peaceful environment as well. Note there is only one person working, but the wait is worth it! She was very kind. Consider me an out-of-state groupie now. read more

I'm glad that there is an authentic Chinese food place in Moscow, ID. The food is definitely authentic, home-style cooking: the noodles are made from scratch and the dumplings/steamed buns folded in a very similar way to how I've made them growing up. I'm visiting the Moscow, ID area coming from cities/suburbs with a large Chinese-American diaspora - something that Moscow does not have. So overall, if you want to try Chinese food, this is not a bad place to do so. That said, this food is very average and no where near the best Chinese places you'd get. I found the soup noodles very under-seasoned and bland - Chinese food is usually packed with flavor and this broth really lacked the type of flavor I'd expect. There was also no chili oil provided (only hot sauce you'd get at hte grocery store) so I couldn't really add that much heat to a bland sauce. Even outside of spiceness, I found I needed to add some soy sauce (which I normally don't do) to have a bit of flavor/seasoning. I ordered the seafood noodles and the seafood itself was great and plentiful. I do like that they don't skimp on the meat. If I came back again, I would not order any of the noodle dishes. The place serves everything in take out containers FYI. Overall, it's nice to have a Chinese place in the area but the food is only average. read more

I would have never guessed you could find authentic mainland Chinese food in Moscow, ID. They literally make their noodles from scratch when you order the dish! Incredible! That's why it takes a LONG time to get your food so don't come here expecting the traditional Chinese food speed of 10 min with a stir-fry on the wok. These ladies are serious about their noodles and buns, etc. We ordered the beef noodles, wide-style, and the wonton soup with the extra $4.00 shrimp. So, honest truth, the noodles were a killer! You could just tell the nice chewiness of the noodles were made from scratch. They topped it with stir-fried beef with sliced onions and carrots. The sauce was a little sweet and savory. I would definitely order this again and again. As for the wontons, well, for me, it was disappointing only because I have had traditionally HK style wontons and know how difficult is it to make without the skin ripping to pieces. So when I tried the wonton soup, which was in a small bowl, with tiny pieces of shrimp, I was not surprised that most of the wonton skin fell to the bottom of the bowl. The broth was good though. Overall, I wouldn't get it again but I won't dock them any stars since it's good for most people who may not be familiar with traditional wontons. Incredible. This was the best Asian meal for me since my younger daughter and I were at the Chinese Cultural Center in Phoenix, years ago. They serve Chinese food. Hear me out on that statement. There is no gringo sweet and sour whatever, or any culturally dumbed-down menu items that we all--frankly--have grown up with in this hemisphere. And yet...it was all so beautifully simple. Hand pulled noodle dish w/minced pork; hand made bao; hand made dumplings. Simple, simple, simple. All made even more incredibly baffling by how far inland we were. Seriously, I closed my eyes and could picture myself in the International District in Seattle. That good. Be advised, though. We waited almost 45 mins for what you see in my pics. I want to start off by saying if you want a quick meal this isn't the spot for that. This is a small family business and they make everything from scratch including the noodles. That being said I came here around 6:30pm on a Friday night and didn't get our food until right at closing. My friend had asked if we were still able to stay and eat since it was past 8pm at this point. The owner was super kind and told us to take our time and eat. The noodles were by far the star of the show and almost has a hint of five spice flavor in the sauce, I loved the texture and how big the noodles were. You can't find anything like it in the area. The curry was also delicious and I really enjoyed the spices they used, if you don't like spicy food this is for you! Neither of the dishes were spicy and instead flavorful with every bite. I also got the lemon tea and it wasn't too sweet! Overall I think I would call ahead of time and get takeout next time just because the wait time was more than I am use to. read more

I've been meaning to leave a review of this place for awhile- the food is delicious. Authentic and full of flavor. Hand cut noodles and buns. The pork is flavorful but my favorite dish is the thick cut noodles with tomato and egg(and chili sauce). Flavors are spot on and you never feel sick after eating the entire plate. Staff is always extremely nice. Service can be slow and food can take awhile so I always order ahead online. Small restaurant so there are limited places to sit so be aware. This is legit, authentic Chinese. There was only one woman working when I went (she was taking orders, cooking, delivering food to the few tables they have, etc) so be patient. The Pork over rice was actually really freaking good for lunch. It was a bit rich so I add dumpling sauce which really rounded out the flavors and elevated it. I gobbled it up so fast I really want another plate. The owner makes everything fresh in her kitchen and you can really tell from the ingredients. The rice was warm and fluffy. The pork had so much flavor and paired well with the cucumbers. I was told they serve freshly made, hand pulled noodles so I will definitely be coming back to try that dish out. We did wait about an hour and with so many other reviews complaining about the wait, I think they should really have tried harder to hire more staff, streamline their process, or at least notify people that it takes a while or do something like some free potstickers to apologize for the wait. But it was a lovely wait outside on their adorable porch. I love that they did something with this dusty old location and made it beautiful with all the plants. The huge white rose on the corner was in full bloom when we went (Aug 28) so that's a good time to go! Absolutely fantastic! This isn't your standard Americanized Chinese food with combinations 1-4 of wet chow mein, sickly-sweet and sour, and a microwaved egg roll. This is a small family restaurant that serves authentic food with the same love and attention of a home cooked meal. The flavors are unique, but wonderful, and everything seems to be handmade fresh. We got our food Togo. This food was amazing and seems to be more authentic than other places. I've had a weird obsession with steamed buns. I think whenever I see a picture of them or see them on Tv they always look so satisfying, comforting, warm, and delicious. More authentic buns are hard to find around here and ones Ive tried at other places seemed to be microwaved from a freezer and not handmade. We only got a few different buns but they were all to die for. We ate them up so fast and wish we got more! The milk tea was also super good. Can't wait to order from here again.
