Everything was great until check out in lumber. When youve closed all but one human checkout lane, I don't think there's an excuse for having someone who 'isnt trained in this department' like the woman who rung me up, running the register alone. She didn't understand me when I told her my lumber had been cut so at first she scanned in double the amount of what I was purchasing. As many times as I tried to explain that despite there being 12 lengths of wood, I should only be charged for 6 lengths (cut in half to make 12) she didn't understand. I tried to show her that the screen read a line item that was 12' long and clearly I had a bunch of 6' pieces. Even the guy behind me in the checkout tried to help explain that she just needed to scan 6 times. In the end she still charged me for two additional lengths that I had to go to customer service to get refunded. I almost asked if they could page someone who knew what they were doing, at minimum I should have just given up and gone through self check out. Considering how many employees I saw at the store, someone else should have been running the single open manned check out. If she was in training someone should have been there with her.

No…read moreaccountability, and no desire to make things right for the customer once they get your money, which they demand up front. Sneaky charges in the contract for things we did not need. The door and windows we picked out were ordered and re-ordered for several months, and when they finally were delivered everything was the wrong size. The installer and his crew arrived the next day and said they could make them work with additional trim materials from Lowe's, otherwise it would be another nine months to a year. But Lowe's was not keen on providing those materials, which took nearly another month to resolve. Another month to order tubes of caulk, and then we were placed at the very bottom of the waiting list, two months out! This is supposed to be a much-needed upgrade for my 88 year-old mother's home, and instead she has had open holes with exposed insulation around each window in the interior of her home for the last three months, and another month the go. Not a single "We're sorry but will make things right." Dozens of calls and hours of hold time to various customer service lines. Never were calls returned when they said they would look into it and contact you within 24hrs. Lowe's claims to honor veterans, but this is one veteran and his family that they have let down and left hanging.

Home Depot Ludington, MI I purchased over $4000.00 in carpet…read moreand Flooring, March 2021 The installers they use are terrible and they do nothing when this contractor causes damages in your home.  The installer, CFI, had equipment that leaked oil on my carpeted stairs and hallway.  I contacted the store manager and he assured me it would be taken care of and replaced.  They sent the Home Depot flooring representative and a manager from CFI (their flooring contractor)  to my home after I spot cleaned to avoid more carpet being tracked up with this oil.   I told them I called professional cleaners and was told by both oil has a residue and "wicks" to the surface after cleaning, no guarantee because its permanent.  I was told by CFI I had no proof but I had already sent the pictures to Home Depot store manager and they have the proof!  Be cautious about using these two businesses.  My home carpet is permanently damaged by Home Depot Useful Funny Cool

When I came into the store last week, I was viscously accosted by new appearing employee Otto who…read morecame running out of nowhere to scream, "I saw you on the cameras!" repeating it as his main assertion and privacy violation for a regular shopper who has spent thousands there over the past several years. "You were spraying the primer spray paint on the floor!" Mom and I were taken aback and he looked infuriated, seething and staring at me menacingly, then sneering. I observed his red eyes which I told him was because he was an angry man. I told him never was a warning given, my Mom added no note was there to indicate not to. She told him, perhaps next time you can give her a piece of cardboard to spray on so she knows the nozzle is working. He agreed verbally to do this next time. I told him that not even one time did I not purchase one of those cans which happened to be working. Last year, I had one or two returns when some nozzles were not at a critical time. Mom and I were very upset by his hostile encounter, she was indignant and outraged that he didn't ask politely but confronted me in such an abusive manner, and we shopped for the next cans of primer at Walmart where we observed other testers had made a sea of marks on the floor also testing them out. Instead of the agreement made by Otto, the store violated me again as I walked in the store today and was called out by the female manager Mikki at the register. She also repeated, "you were caught on camera!" angrily. She said I sprayed spray paint on the floor and was not allowed in the store anymore. She added, the police would be called. I promptly called the national number to report the situation and let her know a lawsuit of rights violation would be submitted along with this negative review. Not even one warning was given. Otto provided one and we agreed to abide by it. Otto also agreed to provide a piece of cardboard next time and did not hold to his arrangement to provide further neglect of duty. This goes along with inappropriate interactions with the customer and lack of being the friendly neighborhood hardware folks they used to pose as. They were inconsistent and did not stand behind their own agreements to violate the business-customer rules. I will upload a snippet of my lawsuit when finished where my rights were violated and I was lied to. This Ace should pay for my gas as I'm forced to go to the downtown Ace Hardware and I should be allowed to shop at the local hardware store convenient for me.
