The lunch item's that we got were fantastic. I tried a cheese and onion pasty and a Cornish pasty that was filled with beef potato and carrots. They were both excellent with crisp flakey crust and a great taste. Everyone enjoyed their lunch and we had a nice cup of tea sitting on their back patio enjoying the sun.

It seems you are not interested in the elderly as there are loads of self serve checkouts, and they are all near the exit. I find there are not even many places to sit either while I wait for my husband to checkout at the other end of the shop. They do sometimes have some real good reduced price bargains around 23:00. The cafe also has some good bargains food wise which help fill the gap when you decide on an impromptu shopping session. The store itself is not the prettiest and can sometimes look quite scruffy, however being such a big store, it is understandable and ASDA offer cheaper shopping, they pull their customers back with the reduced prices. All in all this Walmart store has everything one could ever need under one roof. There are many roll back price bargains on offer all the time and generally their prices are cheaper than most of their competitors.

It's got a huge range of items, although no adult clothing (other than underwear) or much in the way of electronics/media/toys, unlike even bigger stores. For groceries, though, it's got a lot to offer. Fruit and veg are of good quality and usually well-stocked. The deli and fresh fish counters offer a lot of choice, and they even have a large 'Polish food' section. They have two 'car trolleys' which amuse small (and big) kids greatly, and make the shopping trip easier with children who are too big for the trolley seats but too small to walk all the way around without whining. But at this service stop by the motorway this is exactly what you get!! A Wholefoods or Gelmans (for you Americans) or actually even better - a farmers market with all the trimmings - Wow!! I would say unique but it isn't - I asked and there are 3 more - a second (I assume) identical one on the Southbound side of the M5 motorway and two more elsewhere in Gloucestershire. I have to give this store a mixed review…read more Admittedly the prices are great, they sell a huge range of products from food to clothes, toys and homewares, and the shelves always seem very well stocked. However, I do find that the store is busy at pretty much any time of day, and the store is not really set out to accomodate this. The aisles are very narrow and it's quite easy to find yourself stuck behind someone who's blocking the path. It can make your grocery shopping quite stressful. That said, they are fantastic if you order your groceries from them online - they offer sensible substitutions and the food is always fresh. Their new self-service check outs in-store are great fun!

However, I don't love the way that unless you go first thing in the morning or later at night, you will struggle to a) find a full car parking space! and b)struggle to find a small trolley. They don't seem to be able to cope with lots of customers going through the tills either - at busy times, there are always massive queues, and tills that aren't open. The produce employees tend to block aisles too, while they are restocking, but at least the produce is fresh. Everything is reasonably priced at Asda and they have some fab offers and lovely gifts.
