Great operation, awsome new equipment, literally 3 hours run time on the Yamaha Waverunners! The weather was great, we filled out the waivers and we were on the water within 10 minutes. Super friendly place. We did the 1 hour guided tour and it was great. Michael was our guide and he was super friendly and helpful especially for me as a first timer. He explained everything as did Patrick the owner. We went out for 20 min and got to an area to idle or have free time. I was super nervous the first 20 min but after we had a little break and I relaxed I was much better. I highly recommend this for even the most nervous! I felt great afterward and had a great time! Our family of five had a great time Jet Skiing with WakeZone around Marathon Key. After some instructions from James, he guided us to the Atlantic side for some fun big waves, then around to the Gulf side where we enjoyed calmer waters. We stopped over a reef and looked around, then blasted back to the dock. The skiis were new and easy to use; it was our best experience of the trip! Thanks James and WakeZone! read more

Wakezone Watersports - Boating Near Me - Conch Key, Florida

We recently booked 4 crafts for 6 people on the jet ski tour and we had several issues. The property itself is poorly labeled and difficult to find. Once we arrived, there was no one at the booth; we had to find someone to check us in. The man who checked us in and handled our paperwork was... well, misogynistic. A LOT. And it didn't stop. He made several comments during check in and while we were waiting to start our tour. Trying to be a funny man's man; no one in my group appreciated it. Most of our group was younger and had zero experience with jet skis. Experience level was not asked for or considered when the instructions were provided. The instructions in general lasted 2 minutes and were extremely sparse and left us with many questions. We opted for the tour as this was our first time in the keys and hoped to see landmarks pointed out or some commentary, understanding we're all on separate crafts and this is difficult. No landmarks were pointed out. This is NOT A TOUR. This is a glorified follow-the-leader around the island for an hour, BUT DO EXACTLY WHAT HE DOES OR ELSE. Our biggest complaint comes at the start of the tour. Again, we were all inexperienced and needed time to acclimate to how the jet skis handle, how to hit wakes, and general nerves. Five minutes into our one hour, our "guide", Dion, stopped us abruptly to give us a speech on safety. He yelled at all of us to follow him - he knows the waters, he knows what's best - but none of us knew what we had done wrong or why we were getting yelled at. We were following along, a bit more space between us than he asked for as we were nervous and still getting the hang of things. This especially made it nerve wracking for the rest of the "tour" as we were berated but not told what we were doing wrong or how to correct it. We were expected to be comfy with the crafts right away and go 40 mph out the gate. The tour has a break at a sandbar. I have no idea why. To swim? But hold onto your craft! Don't let it float away! To stand there and take a picture? Sure, but why not get one of us ON the jet skis? Also, the pics were blurry and not that great so ‍ At this point we were all still confused as to why we were yelled at and not in the best of moods as a result so stopping wasn't exactly a fun, cool, let's celebrate stop. Dion talked a bit at this point about the tide, which I think was his way of saying we need to get moving even tho we had plenty of time in our one hour tour? He also mentioned at this point that we'd make another stop but that never happened. Tbf, it did look like it was gonna storm soon so we were fine without stopping but we're caught off guard when we were suddenly at the entrance back to the property without a second stop or any further communication. Not what I expected nor was looking for! We had a group of 6 rent 4 pwc's and booked the 1 hour "tour" which is NOT a tour of any kind. With 3 new riders in our group, myself at 55 and my two sons 20 and 16, I thought having a guided tour would give a good first experience with and experienced rider and a chance to see more of Marathon island and the wildlife as promised in the tour. What we got: After finding the tiny shack and searching for an employee we were told we would be a half hour late. When our watercraft arrived we got a very brief introduction and safety talk. Red button on left starts and stops the motor, lever on right is the throttle, stay 100 feet apart, follow me and don't crash. And we're off... with zero time to get used to how the craft handles etc and 3 brand new riders were off in choppy open water expected to play follow the leader and keep up. After 15 minutes or so we stop and I'm expecting to be shown something on our "tour" but what we got was a stern tongue lashing from our guide about the "rules" and how important it is follow them and him. Keep up but don't be to close and how far behind in time we are. Okay, I'm not the one who started it 30 minutes late! And all of us are speechless wondering what we did wrong! Maybe telling us what we did wrong and how to correct it woulda been more helpful than yelling at this 55 year old first time driver? Looking right me yelling "what's your problem?" Like a drunken bar patron looking for a fight didn't sit well with me! Basically the "tour" was hauling ass around the island having nothing shown or explained to you. And back at the car we all were still really confused as to what happened. Why did we get yelled at? What did we do wrong? From start to finish it seemed very unprofessional, disorganized, and outright confusing. read more

What ever this guy witnessed was more important than helping us rent a boat. I guess my $800 can be spent elsewhere? read more

Jet skis were nice. Service was mediocre. 1. They rarely answer the phone (they prefer you to text) 2. The wake zone shack itself is rarely manned so you have to call/text when you arrive. 3. As for the actual ride (which was really all that mattered to me) there was not much direction or instruction from James the tour guide. To be fair, he asked if we all rode before and I said yes but it had been awhile. He then gave a nice quick safety lesson and we were off. When we were first pulling out of the canal James was waiting at the end and told us to go fast and he watched us for a few moment before giving the thumbs up. Once we started riding we were to stay in a line and follow at about 100 feet. I kept asking if I was going too fast because James gave zero feedback unless prompted but he kept saying I was ok though his body language seemed to say something else. Early on in the ride a woman with a small child at the back started to fall behind. I went slower and rode with her as the rest of the group rode out of sight. James soon circled back and was sure to tell me that I could keep up with the rest of the group bc he had his eye on her. Later my partner fell off their jet ski and James told me to keep going as he rode by (I waited for my partner to get back to their ski of course which was lucky because they didn't remember how to get started again after pulling the safety cord out). Overall the sights were great and it was a lovely 90° day on the water in the keys but "tour guide" is a loosely used term. No sights pointed out, no tips. Once, I asked if I could circle around a small island with a single home but other than that, as a group we stopped at a sand bar for photos (I can understand why people like it) and the guide made point to stop in open ocean so people could try donuts if the wanted. At the end of the trip someone fell due to a flimsily step (no one warned about) getting out, literally got stuck for a moment and not one worker (there were three at the dock) moved to help. I thought but having a pro guide would maximize the experience but after this I decided to just buy a jet ski. If you can't buy a jet ski, rent elsewhere. read more

Company doesnt exist. Paid in advance for 3 day rental and never received pontoon boat. Gave use the run around on day 1 and then ghosted us the next two days. Did not refund money, had to do a fraud claim. I would advise not renting from them but if you do I would not pay in advance or even a deposit for that matter. Shame on you Wakezone. read more

The company does not exist. They moved to another location but when you go to the location they are not present. We rented a pontoon for three days just after Christmas 2022. We paid and reserved for a three-day pontoon rental in November. The Monday we were supposed to pick our pontoon I called the company's phone they said that would check the weather conditions and they would call me back. The weather was not the greatest for boating--high winds and cold. Didn't hear form the company that day. Called the next day to see if we could pick up our pontoon and see if they would push our three-day rental another day because we lost our first day due to weather. The person I talked with said their reservations were wide open and we would have no problem pushing our reservation one day. He had to talk with the boss about when we could pick up our rental pontoon. He would call back soon. We never heard from him or the company for two days. I called, left voice mail, texted and emailed the company. No answer to any of my requests. The next day I tried again. Their answer service was off. We called another company and rented a pontoon for two days. Lucky for me I was able to file a fraud claim through my visa company. read more

If you are an adult that wants to spend an hour going 45 around on a jet ski this is the "tour" for you. When we arrived for our "tour" the other jet ski's were late getting back, no big deal, the old gentleman that was going to be our guide was super nice and accommodating while we waited. At the last minute as we were pulling out on the jet skis a younger guy became our guide. I was on a jet ski with my 10 year old. This "tour guide" literally went 40 plus the entire hour with a brief stop at a sandbar. I'm and pretty sure if a person wanted to ride in a circle around Marathon going max speed they would have just rented a jet ski on their own. He did not say one word about the island, anything we passed, nothing. They should really be ashamed of themselves advertising it as a tour and driving like that with kids. read more

This was worth the price and a good trip. We called the day before and the lady on the phone was not hurried in her response and answered all of my questions honestly and the price seemed fair. I was a little skeptical that we got in so quickly on a holiday week and then even more so that there was an advertisement that associated the business with that show that glorified the Big Cat Trade and Netflix and it was a little disorganized at first. That show may be a draw for some, but it was a turn off for us. These people could not have been nicer, the equipment was clean and new. We took the sunset cruise and the guide was excellent. We had to wait and I was getting antsy, but they timed it PERFECT. We saw everything, all of Marathon on the Gulf and Atlantic sides and the sunset, and he was very adaptive to the different skill levels in our group (and we all did not know each other). At the end of the tour I wanted to leave a tip on the credit card and the owner handed me some cash to give the guide because they had closed the machine for the day and he called "the office" to run my card.This is VERY important to me and my card was charged for exactly what I gave the guide and I got a receipt immediately for that exact charge. We did the sunset tour. I expected something more then what it was....what is was, was speeding around the island as fast as we could and then sort of 'idling' in bay for 45 minutes until the sun went down. It was the cheapest rental we found and I guess you get what you pay for. read more

Do not rent. We had a jet ski issue about 20 minutes and had limp back. SeaGrass was sucked into the intake. The jet ski boy at yhat dock could care less. AWFUL I wish I could pick no stars. My boyfriend and I rented a jets ski for two hours at the end of May. We then went out in the choppiest water I have ever been in in my life. Now that is not the companies fault but a little warning may have been nice because we would probably have saved the activity for another day. After less than an hour of being bounced around so bad that at a slow speed I still had to pour clean water on my face so that I could see and get us back to the dock we made it back. When we arrived we were advised "I don't think I can give you a refund." After speaking with the gentleman who pulled us in form the water he said he would have the owner "Brittany" call me later and he took down my number. Brittany never called. The next day we had to return because no one would contact us. we were then advised Brittany was muuuuch to busy to see us and she was running late for various appointments bla bla bla. So it was funny when I turned around and much to my surprise I could see her sitting in the café not 15 feet away from me on her laptop. We called later in the day and were advised that she was now going to consult her husband the co owner of the company about our refund for our less then pleasant experience. mind you we don't even want a full refund, we wanted a refund for one hour. we returned the jet ski well within that time and we did not want to pay for a service that was not provided to us. We then came back for the third time that day, this is now eating up our vacation time and we can not get someone to so much as speak to us about our request. We were then advised that both owners have shot down our request for a refund and our only option was we were more then welcome to come back the next day and partake in the other hour that we paid for. After an awful experience not only with your product but with management why would we want to return to this place??!! We came back TWICE the next day and there was never a jet ski available for us to use so we could not use our last hour even if we wanted to. These people are criminals and I strongly advise no one do business with them. All this over a 100$ if this is how you do business I hope you are not in it for long. No regard for customer service or just sheer honesty. read more

Made the kids so excited and showed us how to get kids boater's license and we were ready to go rain or shine. Even Fred wasn't going to let us be stopped. Balls to the Wall fun... Went to go rent out a jet ski with my bestfriend and while we were waiting to fill out paper work, the owner (real heavy set man) comes out with orange Cheeto hands so drunk out of his mind! I barely could understand what he was saying, every word came with 1 ounce of spit out of his mouth. As we were discussing the price for each of the water bikes, he then proceeds to pull out a George Foreman and began to grill hot dogs! I was SO confused and utterly disgusted! He gargled each of the 10 hot dog without chewing and by this time we were so over him and his concession stand appetite!
