Now this rivals Fridriech Wilderness as the premier park/hike in the San Antonio area!…read more There are plenty of hills and climbs here with beautiful background scenery that accompanies the trails here. Whether walking/hiking/biking, be prepared to be captivated by your surroundings and also out of breath from all the movement. I can only imagine what this park is like in the summers with the hot sun scorching on you. According to some reviews, there is a tower that gives panoramic views of SA. Unfortunately I could not reach this tower as I was pressed for time. But i did get quite the workout as I trekked along the unpaved trails and soaked in the views of plants, trees, and the wildlife. Additionally, there's a covered pavilion and rest rooms at the parking area of the park. And plenty of parking. This is worth visiting when you're in the SA area; just make sure you've got proper footing and bugspray!

Multiple, well-marked and mapped trails with varying levels of difficulty and accessibility provide perfect spaces for walking, running, hiking and cycling. Beautifully maintained with fixed restrooms on one side and portable lavatories on the other. Park police and cycling trail stewards offer routine safety and support.

Really unsure as to why the reviews are so bad for this place. My boyfriend have been living here…read morefor a little over two month now and we LOVE IT. When renting the girls at the front desk were amazing at assisting us and finding our dream apartment. We have a beautiful view and see the six flags fireworks from our balcony. Maintenance is quick to come and fix, put in a request for my washer the night before and they came right at 11am. The amenities are amazing. We really feel like we are living in a luxury place on vacation every day. It's in the perfect area for the rim, and we have everything only a 5 min drive away. A lot of dogs at the residence but it is still fairly quiet. The only thing is, is sometimes trash is often left in front of peoples doors at the undesignated times. But people are people you can't control everyone's trash every single day. Me and my boyfriend love it here, love the front desk ladies and we know that this will be our home long term.

This complex has gone from "ok" to somehow worse in the 22 months we have rented here. The photo…read moreattached to my review is the mess left behind today by the maintenance staff. The spackle dust covers every surface my kitchen, living room furniture, my daughter's toys, the floor, the cabinets, the doors... everything. This all happened because the proper precautions weren't taken when doing a small routine wall patch on damage that was pre-existing when we moved apartments. After doing the patch the maintenance person came to sand the surface and instead of using a hand block (it was a spot about 1'x2') he used a palm sander with no dust catcher... and I'm left to clean all of the surfaces after I literally just cleaned the entire new apartment when we moved in 5 days ago. Also today while he was here making a mess of things we noticed the heat was not kicking on and my daughter was chilly in the house (68°)... I had hoped to bump it up to 71°. He had to leave and come back later so we left to run some errands and have dinner only to return and find he fixed the heat and left our heat running at 80° and yes it was like Florida in our house now... and guess what not the AC doesn't work. So when I called to let them know after hours he says well it's not an emergency because it's not cold enough outside... are you some sort of joker? Like you come to my apartment make a mess, fix one thing and break another and now we get to sleep with the windows and door open because you are a total knucklehead? This place can be like the twilight zone at times. We called yesterday because we have a package stuck in limbo at the Amazon Hub (ear marked for our old apartment number)... girl at the office says she doesn't think there is anything we can do to get it because they don't have access to open it for 15 days. Then today my husband stops in the office and they hand him 2 codes to go retrieve our stuff from the Hub under our old address. Apartment manager is near impossible to reach most days... I get it she's busy. But I gave several hours in which to return my call today after the mess that was left by her maintenance team and no return call. The rental office is very focused on new client traffic and not so much on the current tenants. There have been a lot of bumps over the last 22 months but The Rim in general is a nice area to live while stuck in San Antonio. I have never wanted to leave them a bad review before but we were always treated well by previous staff. The employee turnover on this property is high (we are on the 3rd or 4th property manager in our time here). I'm just super disappointed that this place has run so far off the tracks in recent months and instead of focusing on rebuilding relationships with tenants they are focused on wine tours and installing hammocks.

Was a fantastic, quiet, well-kept property until the new management company assumed ownership. Now,…read morethe property is insufferable and I struggle to describe the property as anything besides "ghetto". Police cars appear at the property on a weekly basis, and it's common to see animal abuse officers doing wellness checks on the overwhelming number of untrained, violent, neglected dogs at the property. The gates are in a perpetual state of never functioning properly, often resulting in residents being locked out of the property. Otherwise, the gates stay open overnight, resulting in break-ins, thefts, and peeping toms. The resident portal is owned by RealPages, a company sued last year by the U.S Department of Justice for harvesting and selling personal information on residents. https://www.reuters.com/sustainability/boards-policy-regulation/realpage-agrees-limit-data-collecting-settle-doj-rental-price-fixing-case-2025-11-24/ The resident portal is sketchy: paying rent involves a monthly $50 processing fee and requires you to enter information like your SSN, driver's license ID, and even your passport for "verification". Furthermore, the new management team lacks experience to meaningfully solve trivial problems. Simple tasks like printing a new apartment key takes several business days and, once the key is finally printed, it turns out to be your neighbor's apartment key. Finally, the new management company has seemingly allowed just ANYONE to move into the property. In the last few months there have been an influx of large families moving into small one or two bedroom units, resulting in the property being noticeably louder and rowdy. Children are often left unattended at the pool and shriek disturbingly loudly. A very large portion of the property consists of dog owners, with very few dogs being trained; it's a daily occurrence for dogs to bark, growl, and lunge at you, and dog poop is a staple of every patch of grass throughout the entire property. None of this is to mention issues like the friendly animals, such as scorpions, that appear on the property, or the lack of sound buffering between units that allows you to eavesdrop on your neighbor's quietest conversations. The apartment isn't the worst - it's in a great location and, on first glance, appears nice. However, for any middle-class folk looking for a simple, quiet apartment: stay very far away.

Good place to live. Conveniently located, office and maintenance are always responsive.read more
