Easy to find heading east from the interstate on Plaza Drive / Hwy 150, less than a mile after the bend and set back a little from the street. Big fountain up front (which may or may not be gurgling) and plenty of parking in a lot shared with the funeral home around back. The facility itself is clean, simple, and medium fancy; suitable for quiet dignified affairs but easily dressed up for elegance or extravagance and there's a patio around the fountain if the weather is agreeable, also has a large canopied entrance fronting a foyer if the weather turns foul. The kitchen is equipped with coolers, heaters, ice machine and dish washer to handle your food service needs. Last time in was for an anniversary party seating 100+ people plus a two-line buffet with space enough for dancing and cavorting into the evening. I can't say as how I cared much for the music selection but that's more on the hostess than the facility.

The Crossing has a decent bar with a couple beers on draft as well as some bottles/cans and wine. You can leave the venue with your drink and hang out on the upstairs patio/balcony area. A nice spot to get some fresh air and have a conversation without screaming over the tunes. The acoustics weren't great for the Wood Brothers -- LOTS of feedback -- and it's all general admission. There are some benches with enough seating for about 10-15 people around the edge of the room. We stood in a few different spots all around the venue and I had a hard time seeing everywhere. While it was a sold out show, it didn't feel too crazy packed. All in all, it's a pretty venue in a cool spot but the acoustics and limited visibility make it a tough spot to enjoy a concert.

The only reason I didn't give 4 stars is because the beer selection was HORRIBLE. We are talking basic, gross (to me) beers: Coors Light (maybe??), Miller Lite, that genre. Two beers on tap, but also bad. No IPAs or dark beers or selection at all. Really irritated me, especially because there are tons of great breweries in our state, and Hickory is situated between many of them. I saw signage for the Blowing Rock Brewery and regret not going there for a pre-show brew.
