Massive waste of time. I'm a Floridian born and raised so I have driven by this place many times. I also was a flea market kid, hanging out at flea markets all through out my life. Came here with HIGH hopes but I drove 50 min to buy a lemonade and that's about it. Felt like I was at some weird political convention. Many of the vendors are selling items made in China including tacky MAGA merch, it's pretty disturbing and sad. Meanwhile the vendors not selling cheap Chinese items are slim to none. Among the empty rows you might actually find people selling items that people would truly be interested in such as antiques, framed art, decor, and glassware. But again, it is slim to none. In my opinion, there were barely any good vendors here and the ones you might find are either selling garbage or selling animals in small cages overheating in nearly 90 degree weather. An extremely disappointing waste of time visiting this place and a disgrace to what flea markets used to be. I thought visiting the antique store would bring me a bit of happiness but even then it was just okay. There are plenty antique stores in Jacksonville that beat this place in both pricing and available items. Super sad to say it but this place was not worth my time. read more

Drove 1-1:2 hours from Daytona to go here. It was Very disappointing, what happened. Veggies were way over priced (drove back to the Palatka veggie stand on 100). Saw vendors eating from the grills they were cooking on for patron's and that's a big disappointment for me. (Must be the norm, we stopped at Wendy's on the way out of town and encountered the same thing at that restaurant). We use to love this drive to get a way on a road trip. I love love love Flea Markets! When I used to ride the MegaBus back and forth from Gainesville to New Orleans, I would stop by the flea market on my way back to Jax. Fl. They have plenty of fresh fruit and veggies for sale. The also have your basic miscellaneous items for sale. Try to stop in when you are in town. Or even better, make it a day trip and head to the Flea Market. read more

Ah yes, the Waldo flea market. A place that is featured on Roadside America because of the big rocking chair out by US 301. As many have said, both parking and entrance are free. Some would say this means you get what you pay for, and they are probably right. I have been to this flea market a number of times before, and it seems that each time I go there, it has dropped just a bit more in terms of product quality and physical state. Gone are the locations where you could buy a lunch and stuff... the only things surviving in terms of ready to eat food is a barbecue grill, a donut shop, and a handful of places making boiled peanuts (or P-Nuts, as they are wont to say). Merchandise? Well, don't go here if you are looking for antiquities... as some have said, the majority of items here are dollar store trash and the remnants of someone's garage sale after the good stuff has been sold. Many of the permanent location stores towards the front have closed up shop, though I was happy to see that the place that sells a lot of kitchen equipment is still there. I walked through the entire place, and everything was the same... $1 VHS tapes alongside $2 DVD's, books in boxes arranged in such a way that you couldn't read the binder to find out what they were, and loads of "As Seen on TV" products. The only other place there that seems worth exploring is the hardware location that seems to have the products from a couple of tractor trailers that cleared out a brick-and-mortar hardware store that went out of business. The price is right to go and have a look, but don't expect much. read more

Omg the ANTIQUES in this place!!! There's no admission and free parking when you come here. There's a lot of nooks and crannies in this place so try to see it all or you can miss something great! I'm glad I didn't bring too much money or I would've been one broke woman! There's this little donut place callled Donuts N More that have the little powdered sugar donuts. OMG *drool* so good!!!!!!! The women who worked there were so sweet and gave us a little more than the bakers dozen for $2.50 because they were gonna be closing down soon - score! This is actually my favorite flea market as opposed to Ramona and Pecan Park. I loved every booth so it took forever to get through it....and it was hot, but definitely so cool :) GO! read more

Love the animals and plants, and Sometimes buy a new plant for the yard lol I like yard sales so I do like to check out the outer building setups they have going out there by folks it's always something different never know what you might come across. It's also a place to go and get some exercise the place is huge and takes all day if you planing to see everything there, be careful on a very hot day and drink lots of water lol, I've people complaining about this place saying this and that, Well, It's not a place of new things of today's stuff if that's what you're looking for you will not find brand-new things here, and some of these vendors been set up for years n years and just as well pay that rental fee than pack up. Some might even pass away with things still there who know try not be so rude. As for smoking, I'm a smoker and have never seen anyone going down these hauls smoking not once but will outside in the open away from everyone I do show respect and have seen others also out in the open. It has always been packed when I went but not been in a couple of years so time to go again. read more

I am very familiar with the concept of a flea market and my expectations are never very high and sometimes my reviews can be somewhat negative towards them but reviewing these roadside exhibitions are alway subjective because you either love them for what they are or hate them because your expectations were much high to begin with. On this day I was really disappointed not for what it is, but for the number of vendors here was astonishingly low I'd guess maybe 20 percent of the the spaces were filled and only about a third of those that were open or untarped since it's rare that some of these vendors ever show their wares at any other locations, this is their place of business and believe me most feel this is a legit business. The number of dusty VHS tapes and Tubberware bowls seemed to be the theme of the day along with a few hot boiled green peanut vendors set up at every corner to satisfy that unscrupulous need. This old worn venue is dirty and crumbling but that's part of the attraction the number of permanent vendors selling out of decrepit campers and utility trailers is not but you'll always have a number of those folks even at the most famous flea markets around Florida. Looking at the junk here makes one wonder how could they sell enough to justify the time they spent here weekend after weekend well it's a culture and has very little to do with revenue. The prices here are ridiculous and that's by design most of the vendors here have little invested in their inventory so if you happen to find something that you must have you must "dicker" it's expected and it's about having the stamina to outlast the seller who without a doubt isn't moving much inventory and is looking to make a sell - if only to add to the conversation amongst the other vendors. It's a flea market! what else can you say? We did however expect there to be more vendors on a Sunday than there were. Probably a 1/3 of the booths were empty. Like any other flea market, you have the "permanent" vendors (who knows where they get this stuff from) and the part-time vendors who seem to just be having a garage sale. The saving grace for this place (3 stars vs 2 stars) is the antique mall next door/sharing the same parking lot. It has a decent selection of items, okay priced and we manage to walk out of there with a couple of purchases. Well folks, it's a flea market, so you're not going to find a super-refined or organized place here nor should you even expect it. However, if you're looking for certain things, you may in fact find a bargin or two. People who collect vintage signs, certain antiques and the like, people who need things like a box of all manner of strange screws or other hardware, people who are looking for cheap tools . . . these are the folks who will be happy with the flea market. Yes, there's a lot of junk, but if you enjoy flea markets or have specific needs, it works its magic. If you need special drawer-pulls for a chest of drawers from 1930 you just may find those here in a box or bin too . . . which isn't trivial or funny if you've got drawers without drawer-pulls! I've seen better flea markets, but it's close to Gainesville and legit for what it is. My very first trip here in high school I found a live album by Barbara Mandrell from way back in 1980 or something--you're not gonna find that on iTunes! By the way, my main attraction to Waldo is the Waldo Motorsports complex near the flew market--it's one of the finest motorcross tracks in the state, so check it out if you're into mx. read more

Excellent flea market. It is always open when they say they are and it is always interesting

Every now and again, we jump in the car and take the ride up Normandy Blvd to 301 and head down to Waldo for the flea market. Sometimes the ride is worth the trip and other times, it just really isn't. This flea market is very hit or miss. The flea market itself is pretty big with an array of sellers. Some are permanent while others just have a booth for the weekend. If you are looking for produce, there aren't many produce sellers here, but of the few there are, prices are pretty reasonable. As I buy most of my produce at flea markets, I won't buy cucumbers unless they are 3 for $1 or grape tomatoes unless they are 2 quarts for $3. These produce sellers had both. When you go to a flea market, you don't expect things to be organized, but you do expect it to be clean and not too trashy. Unfortunately, there are some parts of this flea market that look like a dump. It seems like people have just left their stuff out to rot in the elements and it is a horrid eyesore. Not to mention that if you are a flip flop wearer, like I am usually, don't wear them here. Your feet will be filthy by the end. My niece learned this the hard way as she was the only flip flop wearer in our group on this particular occasion. As for the rest, there really is a lot of junk here, but if you look, you can find something that may surprise you. On this particular visit, it was a hoe down type atmosphere. They had a group of cloggers dancing in old time farmer's dresses. My niece even got in the swing of things are started dancing near our table. One thing that Waldo has going for it is the hot and ready food that is offered. There are all sorts of different smells from boiled and roasted peanuts to corn on the cob. It is all decently priced too. In the end, if you are riding down from Jacksonville, don't get your hopes up for this flea market. I'd make some other type of plans if you are heading this way and not make your trip solely to visit the Waldo Flea Market. read more

That was an amazing experience it's a weird combo of antique store gallery farmers market fleamarket! We ended up leaving with a lot of vegetables which they had a great deal seven bags of veggies for $10! three antique Spiderman comic book's :-) it's a must have of course:-) homemade honey which I cannot wait to taste! Handmade mugs for three different sports teams! The only downside is that it was unbelievably hot and the only guy who was selling lemonade of course ran out when we got there! I also found some kitchen utensils that are not common and not that easy to find:-) overall super satisfied I had a lot of fun and we spend a lot of money definitely going back! read more

I was the first to review this business back in february, and it was a negative review. On tuesday, 4/5/2011 I got an email from the owner Steve Blakewood, saying to "cease and desist" , to remove my post or he would sue me. I took it down because I didnt want him to keep harassing me. I am going to repost it. Because I am not going to let this man bully me. There is nothing in my review that is defamatory , its Yelp "real people, real reviews" and i stick by my original review. 2/15/2011 would review it a zero, but Yelp doesnt have that option. Flea markets arent supposed to be upscale, they arent even supposed to be on the same plane as an antique shop, or even a thrift store. They are an entity to themselves and they can either be really amazing, sorta okay, or in the case of Waldo Farmers and Flea Market a dust infested dirty unorganized pile of junk that should be thrown away. I have been to many many flea markets, open aired, and covered. I have even been to the antique mall right next to this place and loved it. The minute you walk into the main entrance of this place, you know you are heading right into crapville. cardboard boxes filled to the brim with $1 items that are encrusted with dust. further on and its kitchen items so overpriced and cheap you wonder how they justify being in that duality. Further on there are covered buildings with booths, 80% empty, and the 10% that are full have the same boxes of dollar items, toy guns, VHS tapes (i wondered where those went too) or items that no one would ever want, pay that much for, or dare to pick up in the first place. There are some outside "booth" that look like a junkyard gone terribly to a slasher film kinda place. I was scared to go in them. You can get local produce, but I didnt want to even touch it for fear it would disintigrate before my eyes. There are huge tents of tools, boiled peanuts and cages here and there with a sickly chicken or two. We couldnt get the heck out of there fast enough! Dont get me wrong, I had fun looking at the locals , and stepping over mud puddles full of peanut shells, but you will not catch me there ever again. read more

Where else can you find a high dollar red ostrich leather woman's jacket and matching kid leather gloves for under $50 hanging among rusty, greasy, old car and farm parts? That was wife Dollie's best deal at the flea market. As for me, a few evergreen bushes that are doing great after 5 or 6 years growing here in NW Florida sand. Don't know if it's still there, but we also had custom Tee-shirts made with our own pictures on them. Cool!!! The few times we went there, we had a good time just looking, whether buying anything or not. As at any flea market, no matter what you're looking for, you will find something you can't live without. One of my complaints about flea markets is that many of them have tables of cheap stuff I can get off the dollar store or a few bucks from Amazon, while some of that does exist at the Waldo market, there are some amazing vendors there many of them sell antiques and collectibles. The produce prices are good, (better than the supermarkets as I would expect) I have hit the vinyl up a bit and got a few gems for a buck a record. Now I have a bit of land and have been planting fruit trees and my absolute favorite place at the Waldo Market is MOON GARDEN NURSERY (Outdoor space #58) they sell fruit trees, vegetables, herbs, flowers etc. Not only do they sell, they also have their own and know what they are talking about, everything they sell can be grown successfully in North Florida. I have asked many questions, they have been patient and give me a lot of advice and provide great service. The Waldo Market gets five stars, Moon Garden Nursery gets five stars easy. read more

It was a hot rainy summer day 7 Aug 2016 I came to this flea market. It had real flea market used items. Lots of total junk but some good vendors. I'm sure in cooler weather its a good market. I'll be back and I drove 150 miles to check it out Sunday 7 Aug (I think was 6-7 Aug). Manager needs to clean out the few junk hoarder types make them make their spot presentable (do they live there in their vans?) Other than few obvious junk hoarder spots its a good flea MKT. We drove from Fort White to Waldo because this place was "highly recommend". Parking is free so there is that and you don't have to pay to get in so that is about all the good things I can say. For us it wasn't worth the drive. There was a whole lot of junk more then everything. Even inside which was so hot I don't know if there was A/C was over filled with things that looked like it came from a hoarder's house. My husband did find a vendor who sells video game's (new and old systems) and he was more over priced then r u game in Willinston. At this point we didn't even stop to buy food because we just wanted to leave. I usually try to give a place a second chance but I don't think we will return read more

I have been going to Waldo since 2004. This flea market is AWESOME!!!!! Of course you can't wear open-toe shoes or your feet will be black...of course there is the redneck walking a pit bull with her teats dragging the floor (i'll let you figure out which one)... and of COURSE there are aisles of JUNK, but all this aside, there are some real gems in there!!! The sweet tea is AMAZING. The boiled peanuts are AMAZING. The produce is CHEAP, LOCAL, and DELISH! When I was a student at UF from 2004-2006, my friends and I would pile in the car 2 times a month and shop our little hearts out. We would load up on veggies to make soups, stir fry, and enjoy whichever fruit was in season. Whenever mom would come visit she would accompany us and buy us kitchen stuff from the store in the front and load up on boiled peanuts for her ride back (the cajun and the garlic are the best)! Recently she has even found cheap kcups in the grocer section (I probably wouldn't trust much on that side, but how can you go wrong with a kcup?!) My friend collects brass animals and I could always find her a cute, cheap, and unusual one at Waldo. We happened to be at Waldo a few months before our wedding and saw some really pretty hand painted river rocks with palm trees and a beach scene, along with a cute story about how it was a rock that protected your home from hurricanes blah blah blah. I thought they were adorable and jokingly asked her if she'd make 150 for our wedding...she said yes!!! My friend picked them up for me the next month and everyone was raving about them. There are the storefronts that have the asian cheap stuff, but it has not taken over like so many other markets. If you are local there is a great guy who makes wooden porch furniture. Also, there are plants for sale, with very knowledgeable people to help you out with them. There are also other food booths with specialty stuff like honey, peanuts, and jellies. Some are good, some are overpriced, you pick out what you like. **Bring CASH!!!!!!!! The ATM is a rip off. read more

We visited on 2/3/13, and found this to be a solid, real flea market. The aisles weren't crammed with dollar Chinese plastic, although it WAS there. Old dishes? We scored a vintage '50s tomato salt and pepper set for $2.00. Boiled peanuts? You betcha. Cheap socks, purses, tools and knives were everywhere. A well stocked fishing tackle store is a permanent vendor. Someone was even selling lumber! Pet vaccinations were there that day, at chump change prices. Speaking of animals, if you're looking for a couple of chickens for the back yard (you should) this is a good place to get them. Also geese, quail, guinea fowl, rabbits, and other little furry friends. We even saw a cute little black baby pig. (Mmmmm, bacon.) We liked the market, and we will be back. Note: Like most Florida flea markets, a visit during the winter months will probably find more vendors and better merchandise than you'll see in the hot, wet summer months. Its really four stars, but I gave 'em five because unlike some people, I'm not so clueless as to wear flip flops to a freakin' flea market and expect my feet to stay clean. LOL read more

It's a combination of junk you might find at a yard sale alongside dollar store items, certainly not worth a long drive. Vendors not very friendly, inside the the building I was asked not to open my bottled water, what, it was about 90 degrees inside the building! Most of the of the stuff inside appears to be from estate sales, stuff from a home of a deceased relative that they are clearing out. No finds, overpriced junk. Save your money and your time and head to Mount Dora if you want to have an enjoyable day antiquing, skip this one. read more

Traveling to flea markets to hunt for theatre props can be fun. And then there was our experience at the Waldo Flea Market. A friend was in a knife shop sending a photo for the prop assistant to see which of the large blades on display were suitable. His answer was to buy as many as possible if the seller had them in stock but try to keep the total under $750 dollars. Before that response came through the proprietor was barking. "No photography!" Um, pardon? This tiny little blade store had a rule neither enforced at Judith Lieber Handbags or the Louvre. Perhaps, I suppose, he was afraid other Flea Market knife peddlers may steal his design of knives hung on pegboard and then patent it. It was then that rather than an open market of grimey America bric brac and sad food stands, I felt more as if I was in a market in Tacna, Peru or a side alley in Algiers. Same standards, but in those far flung crude commercial enterprises the owners seemed to be friendly and to want to actually make money. Poor knife store guy. Well, at least his display secrets are safe. Not sure there were pegboards and twine in Algiers. His corner of Waldo is still his kingdom. read more

Well, I wouldn't just stop to buy things if you were in need of something "nice." There is a lot of junk here... and overpriced goods. It's a lot of hit and miss. The only thing good here is the livestock and that is a little bit overpriced. I wasn't really impressed with the overall merchants or value of goods out there to be sold... I have been to the Waldo flea Market in the past as a shopper and as a seller. The staff that used to be there made me feel like total crap for wanting to get arid of my stuff. I have recently been out to try to get a booth and try again. WOW what a difference! The staff was helpful and made it much easier for me (old employee was a real B***H). I went out and enjoyed looking around. You never know what your going to find. I found some great plants for my yard, and yummy honey for my biscuits! So I would suggest them!
