Walfood Supermarket is located right on Bell Blvd. It is a convenient one-stop shop supermarket for those that are needing their asian groceries. There is a parking lot in the back of the supermarket but it is shared with Mad for Chicken and a few other stores on the same block. The supermarket is a good size and has everything you need from fresh vegetables, poultry, seafood to frozen foods (fish balls, soup dumplings) to ramen and sauces to packaged goods and snacks. It is clean. The prices are fair and about the same as other asian supermarkets in Little Neck or Flushing. There is a $10 minimum for credit cards. There were a good amount of cashiers and staff stocking the shelves. When I was checking out, the cashier didn't really interact with me but it is okay. read more

Decent supermarket with a good range of variety that's close to the ones you'll find in Flushing, given it's the only Chinese supermarket in the area. Produce is generally fresh, and the prices are reasonable - they have good sales, which will lure you in to stay and browse longer since they have no other similar competition. The parking situation here annoys me a lot. I'm sure the lot is shared by customers at the supermarket and MFC (and possibly the businesses next door), but they have an employee actively monitoring actual customers and cars coming in/out, and they can't even bother to make the lot safer and cleaner by putting back the carts (customers absolutely should do this anyway). read more

We food shop at Walfood all the time including today. Smaller but acceptable size and variety of food items as compared to other Asian supermarkets. I always find the food fresh. The employees are fairly although not overly friendly. The aisles are narrow, sometimes language can be a problem, and I wish they had a loyalty program. It's a supermarket and it serves its purpose. Overall, I'd give it 3 1/2 stars. read more

This place is a joke. Be really careful buying meat or seafood here -- most of it doesn't look or smell fresh, and the veggies are often old or turning yellow. I went today and politely mentioned it to the manager, and instead of caring, he got super rude! He told me "don't make trouble" and even said they don't guarantee the quality of what they sell. Like seriously? A supermarket that doesn't stand behind its own products?! Never coming back again. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else. read more

Location is good but I had a Bad and Nasty service at the meat department. I was ordering the meat in Cantonese, after the second items, the man at the meat department was yelling and tell me to speak Mandarin, he claim he don't understand Cantonese. I told him I don't speak Mandarin and I start speaking English to him. He definitely knew Cantonese because he got my first two items right and he try to give me a hard time bcz I try to order more!!! read more

This Asian supermarket was the newest addition located in the heart of Bayside! They took over a Walgreens pharmacy. It was about a 30 minutes walk from my house with my mom. The shopping baskets were located at the front entrance. I had to walk to the parking lot to grab a shopping cart. My mom was browsing through the aisles. Decent Chinese supermarket if you just happen to be local, but otherwise I would rather drive towards Little Neck, Fresh Meadows or Flushing area for bigger snd better varieties. Like before mentioned, pretty convenient but don't expect too much. Small with narrow isles. read more

Have wanted easy access supermarket that stock quality selections of international vegetable and fruit since FOREVER! Now with the opening of Walfood, we have this and so much MORE right in the heart of Bayside! Not only do they stock quality produce, there is also a fresh meat and seafood section! With this compact space, i was expecting a "bodega" with limited varieties however they actually managed to get a full size supermarket into this space and they have EVERYTHING... This is definitely a game changer....and the staff are very nice ....Free parking in the back...i saw staff directly the parking lot, hopefully that will remain so it does not get crazy. took 1 star off for their savings circular which is only available on WECHAT. Alot of people do not like wechat on their device! I have conveyed this to store manager already. They assured that eventually their weekly circulars will be in print or somewhere other than WeChat. A decently sized Chinese grocery store. The store's selling point is its convenience of location right on Bell Blvd. It's perfect if you need Chinese groceries live near by. The Long Island Railroad is also very close by, so commuters can drop in quickly to grab some groceries before walking home. They have a small parking lot in the back and is usually at least 3/4 full half the time. So it can be difficult to find parking. Also, the street leading into the lot can be congested because it's relativity small and narrow. Big delivery trucks dropping off to the supermarket often block the road by double parking, leading to some complaints and angry honking in the area. The grocery had a decent selection of groceries and the prices are really not so bad. Comparable to most other grocery stores. The staff has always been helpful to me when I shop. They have a live seafood section and turn over in their meat department products seems pretty fast, so you always have fresh food. Credit card minimum is $10. read more

I love having the possibility of buying many Asian products very close, including seafood; However, I share with many friends and work colleagues the problem of not being able to stay for long, because all the clothes are impregnated with the smell of fish that lasts the rest of the day. I can't believe we have a new Asian Supermarket in the heart of Bayside! The prices are reasonable & the food is fresh. There is a flyer, by the backdoor, with their weekly sales.
