Just went to get a prescription filled. I sat in the drive through for over 10 minuets with the Pharmacist clearly in view, on his phone texting the entire time. I get that we as Alaskan's don't have many health care options, but wow is this place bad. Walgreens, perhaps it is time you told your Pharmacists to leave their cell phones at home. This is not the first instance of poor customer service, but it will my the last time I tolerate it. read more

They seem to be extremely short handed - I get it. Too bad really because the people there are really nice but don't seem to get any help. But when inaccuracy in prescriptions, tampering is found with meds and days to fill a prescription when you're sick prevails - customers vote with their feet and it will only get worse. read more

Great pharmacy staff. Extremely helpful. Understaffed beyond belief but I see the pharmacist constantly running around handling many things at once. We've been using this location as our main pharmacy for about 10 years- over the last 5 its service has slowly gone down hill. This last prescription fill reinforced my thought that we need to change our preferred pharmacy. Staff at the pharmacy have more important things to do than worry about you and your prescription. The pharmacy at the 12405 Brandon ST, Anchorage AK is the worst I have ever seen. Closed often during posted business hours. The staff is rude and does not care if you get your life saving meds. Say it is ready and they haven't even pulled it. Tell you to come back another day. Don't use them. read more

I've never had a very good experience at this store. Their communication is terrible, and many of the pharmacy staff are poorly trained. For example, I've gotten text messages countless times that my prescription is ready, only to show up and be told they don't have it. Sometimes, after complaining and waiting, another staff member finds it on the shelf, but other times, I'm told that they never got the refill request that I called in myself and was confirmed via text. They do not communicate when they aren't able to refill something. This is imperative! For many medications, it puts people at risk to not be able to take it. Get it together, Walgreens! read more

I called them on several occasions, but they never answered. Today, I called and stayed on the line as I rode there/approached the desk just to see two of them sitting around doing nothing. The employee who was actually working looked stressed. That wouldn't have been an issue if her coworkers had done their jobs. They decided to delete all of my medications because they decided that it's too inconvenient for me to put them online. I shouldn't have to go to the pharmacy in person just to "request" a refill. Their meal break is from 1:30 - 2:00 last I heard. I would call around 3:30 and still get "The staff are on a meal break." I keep telling myself, "not at 3:30, they're not." I've just about had it with these motherf*ckers. Once I get my refills, I'm switching pharmacies. I will also be bringing this up with the store manager. read more

The Pharmacy here has terrible service due to being horribly understaffed and what I could guess overworked employees. If the management doesn't hire more workers or find a more efficient solution you can expect the quality of service to go down even more than what it currently is. I called in to get a prescription refilled, which should not take more than ten minutes yet I was on hold for two hours and when I finally was at the front of the call queue they hung up on me. On other occasions, I have been told I had prescriptions supposedly filled and ready to be picked up, I would then go pick them up and find out that my time had been wasted because the prescription was not in fact ready or even filled. I don't mind being told that something is not ready, but when I'm told differently when I arrive to pick up my medication you could understand why anyone would be frustrated. Word to the wise, if you have been told that you have prescriptions ready, call ahead before you leave to pick them up, honestly, you shouldn't have to make an employee double-check for you when that is part of their job but it seems to have come to that. read more

Yes, I love calling for the pharmacy only to be on hold for a super long time. Then when it rings, someone picks up and just presses the hold button to continue having me listen to the hold song, as if I wouldn't notice they picked it up.. and this repeats for the length of the call before I give up and decide to physically come in just to see if meds are even ready. Waste of my time and yours for something that would just take minutes. read more

I love my neighborhood Walgreens. They are always super friendly and helpful. Even though they are all tired and working their butts off. My husband and I absolutely love the pharmacist "Nate" he's awesome. Always sooo helpful. Answers any questions I have even if he's slammed. Their pharmacy has gone down hill. You wait forever in-line, they tell you your prescription will be filled by a certain time and its not. My child has gone two days without his medicine because of this pharmacy. I will be taking my business elsewhere after this. Went back for the 3rd time and still nothing. I went in to receive a vaccination I had scheduled with them. After waiting in line for quite some time, I was told that they are out of the vaccine and they didn't know when they would have more. I had made an appointment, which was also confirmed by email. They said their system has no way of alerting people that they are out of a vaccine. I will not shop or come in here again. They don't seem to care about their customers and I can go elsewhere. So disappointing. read more

I stopped by this store a little bit after they opened as one of the first customers of the day. The staff there seemed overwhelmed despite a very small number of customers. A simple prescription turned into a multi hour ordeal. Their system was not recognizing our insurance so I called them directly. They said yes we did have pharmaceutical coverage and offered to talk to them. Walgreens declines as they said they were already talking to the insurance company. Meanwhile this drags on while my kiddo is feeling awful. I finally take my kid home and come back an hour later. They Informed me that they covered the medication but said I had to pay full price and then come back in a day or two to fix the problem. So not only did they have errors with their system, their expectation was that the customer cover the issue for them and then come back later. Entirely missing any concept at customer service... avoid this location. read more

I had an appointment to get a shingles vaccine. I scheduled my day around the appointment. When I arrived at the pharmacy, I waited in line behind others with prescriptions. When I get to the front of the line, they inform me they haven't had shingles vaccine in stock for months and don't expect to get any for months, despite the fact that there are signs all over the store encouraging people to get shingles vaccines and despite the fact that they accepted my appointment for a shingles vaccine. When I asked why they didn't call me ahead of time, they replied that "their system" doesn't allow for that. They are inconsiderate of their customers and of their customer's time. read more

I used to think Walgreens was the shit but I went there the other day with a grocery list, I knew I wouldn't be able to get majority there but they had my AZ iced tea, anyways, my body wash was $4 something for a normal sized bottle when at FM I get the special bigger sized bottle for about the same or less I believe. So they didn't offer the bigger sized bottle and they didn't have a huge selection of poptarts. I will still come here though but not for really anything else but my iced tea southern style and maybe a quick simple lunch (dry food section). read more

People here are helpful and pharmacy is pretty on it. You can drop your prescription off then go get gas or a burger or whatever while it's filled and they usually call you when it's done. read more
