Not crowded at 10 a.m. and staff were busy restocking shelves. I paid in cash and asked the cashier for $3.00 to be in quarters. She at first said she could only do $2 (which would meant I needed to get more change somewhere else), but then said it's ok and gave me $3 in quarters. Thank you! Very kind. read more

I have spent one hour trying to get through Walgreens Pharmacy on Harvard St. in Brookline. The message kept repeating that they were experiencing heavy volume and I was number three on the wait list, then no. 2. The phone kept ringing but no one answered the phone, then a message ends the phone call and tells me to call another time. I called again and wasted another half hour. I just wanted to place a prescription order which I transferred to Walgreens due to Wegman's closing their pharmacy. This is terrible customers' service. I have to resort to using a mail order pharmacy. I wanted to support a local pharmacy but I it looks to me Walgreens doesn't care about its customers. I have to give it one star but even one star is not deserved. read more

If I could give walgreens zero stars I would. They don't keep medications in stock and it always takes days to get them delivered to the pharmacy. They lie about the delivery date. Worse, they claim that my asthma medication needs a prior authorization and when I call my insurer, they say it doesn't. Then Walgreens claims there is a limit on how many I can get total. Not true per my insurer. This meiciation is filled monthly and Walgreens always messes it up. Always. I really hate them because they aggravate me and make me wait for days for a medication I need ASAP. read more

I'd say this Walgreens meets the bar but doesn't make any effort to jump over it. I last came here to grab some batteries on a Monday, and the front register has some sort of issue and was making a horrendously loud alarm noise. And to add injury to insult, the register wasn't working. So I got my batteries i needed, which were on sale, at the photo counter. And since I don't have the Walgreens card, an employee, who was kind, accommodating, and helpful, jumped through several hoops to make it happen. Thank you! The store overall is cozy, and the pharmacy area is tiny, meaning a line forms throughout the aisles if it gets busy. Great location, awesome people, but a setup that I think isn't conductive to good people flow. Love everyone there, but this place is not it. read more

This could be the worst Walgreens ever. I was on hold for 2 hours - the pharmacy staff continued to hang up the phone - and then hung up the minute 7PM rolled around. I would travel hours to avoid this place like the plague. The staff is next level incompetent, lazy, and has no idea how to do their jobs. read more

Went ahead and gave them a call to ask if they had a medication because another pharmacy informed me they did. They didn't answer the phone for over 2 hours. Drove from South Boston to Brookline to go to the pharmacy because I need this medication. Just to go into the pharmacy for them to tell me they didn't have it. As a Walgreens customer I don't appreciate their level customer service because they didn't even try to go ahead and make sure themselves that that medication was at the places that they handle me on a sheet or offer to order it but yet dismissed my questions and didn't even mine to help at all. read more

This is the worse walgreens ever. If you need a prescription filled stay clear of this place. Very unprofessional!!! Horrible staff it only takes one to spoil the bunch. I have been calling for two hours. First I was placed on hold and in que for over twenty minutes. Once staff picked up, I was told that I did not have insurance to pick my very vital medications. I called my insurance company and retrieved the info that was given to me. I called back to give my insurance information but the staff refused to take it. I was placed on hold repeatedly for almost a whole hour. I called over and over again and no one will speak to me. I am placed on hold without anyone answering the phone. 10 times I rang the pharmacy with no calls in front of me in que. Pharmacy NOT responsive by phone. **** Employees are nice if you can reach them... this is not about the employees**** My generic, plentiful prescription has been in their hands 3 days, and it's still NOT ready. The hold times on the phone are ABSURD... I waited two hours on hold, then got disconnected! ( The other day it took 1 hour and 20 minutes to reach someone, so this is not unusual ). Walgreens outgoing message for three days announced to "call back in an hour, we're working on it." They are misleading. Not helpful. Waste customers' time. I need the script tonight. There is no excuse for this. They should have a SYSTEM to return calls, or some sort of SYSTEM to transfer scripts they can't fill within 3 days. This Walgreens Pharmacy does not pick up their phone, instead they let it ring indefinitely (this has happened for over a month now). I have missed several medications after being promised something would be ready on a certain date, only to make the trek there and find out the order wasn't even put in. There have been some days where I showed up only to see a sign on the door saying they are closed for being short staffed. I've probably dealt with something between 15-20 pharmacies in the last 10 years or so, and this is without question, the absolute worst and least reliable. The only redeeming quality is the professionalism and friendliness of the staff. Avoid this pharmacy at all costs, especially if you need important medication on a reliable and regular basis. read more

The service in the pharmacy has become increasingly bad. The pharmacy never, and I mean never, answers the phone. There are long lines to pick up meds. And now, even when you get to the pick up window, there is a 15-20 minute wait for them to fill your prescription. That's because they seem to have a new policy of "pausing" your order, even when you've used the automated service to call it in days in advance. Pausing means they don't actually fill your order until you get to the head of the line. He was so friendly, polite, efficient, and really knew what he was doing. What a gentleman! Pharmacy staff has always been friendly and courteous and actually super quick in comparison to most other pharmacies I go to. This place has a bathroom which is a plus but it's disgusting. But if you gotta go you gotta go! It's also somewhat hidden. There are no signs and it's through a black door, in between the photo lab and drink fridge. They don't have a large variety of drinks, it's actually extremely minimal for a Walgreens, not much selection for juices, waters, or sodas. Energy drinks had the largest selection. They had a decent selection of multiple brands of makeup, but I don't buy make up in pharmacies. read more

Why aren't negative stars an option? I visited the store this pm and had to deal "again" with that same girl - she was working along with a colleague with eyelash extensions. I've had previous interactions with her, and I'm confident that the only document she must have submitted for this position was a "Summa Cum Laude Certificate of Excellence in Rudeness, Poor Attitude, and Bitching". It's disappointing to see the decline of this Walgreens location. I've been going there for close to 25 years. It's literally falling apart. read more

Context - I work long hours indoors, so my ability to tan rivals that of a vampire. I was badly sunburned after a day at the beach and needed some aloe vera. I went to this Walgreens and searched the aisles for aloe vera gel. For some reason, there was none, probably because it's summer. I decided to buy something else I needed and be on my merry way. This proved to be a mistake. I went to check out and there were two people in front of me and one man behind me. The cashier's spiel includes asking everyone if they have a Walgreens' card and if they want to make an account. The guy was intrigued and actually decided to see if he could save a grand total of $2, and he agreed to sign up. Signing up for a Walgreens membership, however, was apparently complicated and required several repeated, seemingly futile attempts. Meanwhile, the other cashier, seeing a line of four now building up, decided it was the perfect time to take her break and leave the first cashier hanging. The woman in front of me just wanted to buy some Monistat discreetly and was failing at it every moment this dragged on. The sole cashier at the front at some point phoned overhead for the other cashier to help because registering the man for a Walgreens account was not working, but no response. I later saw that other cashier decide it was nope o'clock and turned right to head for the restroom. The woman behind the photo booth pitched in several minutes later, but was apparently unable to use the register at the front so she started a second line by the photo booth. Woman with Monistat practically vanishes into thin air after that. I managed to check out afterwards. By the time I made it out of the store, I saw the guy who held up the line at the intersection. Whether or not he saved $2 will remain a mystery to me...but if he did save any money, I rest reassured knowing it was on something totally and utterly worthwhile - a gallon of water and coffee beans. I don't know what kind of beef these cashiers were having, but please get a gd self-checkout register. I waited half an hour just to buy oat milk. read more

I honestly don't understand how a pharmacy can be run this poorly. They never pick up the phone, the line is always so long, and they can't seem to handle anyone's insurance. The staff is also extremely rude and seems angry every time there's an issue. There's really not much we can do as customers other than give you our prescriptions and our insurance information. If there's an issue they should know how to handle it since it's their job. At the very least don't be such jerks to everyone. These are people's medications! read more

I was at the photo dept to pick up my friend's online order. The printer couldn't print out receipt, the manager just passed the order to me without saying anything. I asked for the receipt because it's my friend's order. The manager said 'no receipt, you don't need a receipt. You are all set.' I was like WHAT!! The lady that was standing next to the manger said my friend can check the transaction in the app. The manger didn't say anything and just wanted me to leave. I'm starting to do Covid-19 compliance reviews of neighborhood businesses. This place gets at A-, very close to perfect. Employees all had masks and gloves, and they added plexi barriers in the pharmacy section. Why the minus: The pharmacist who was in the back had her mask around her chin (she really should know better), and instead of wiping the carts they gave customers the option to wipe them themselves if they requested a wipe from the cash register. I feel like that's relying too heavily on customers to be diligent. Most of them were, but all it takes is a handful of people who don't care (and there are a lot more than a handful in Boston). I think it would be better if they had the staff wipe the carts. There were plenty of people there and the store was by no means crowded. read more

They have been having severe staffing shortages at the Harvard and Aspinwall Brookline branch. They closed the pharmacy on the weekends without notice. If you call and ask to speak to the Pharmacy they tell you what number you are in line but not that they are not answering their phones so you advance in line as people drop off thinking progress is being made. I was next in line for 30 minutes before hanging up. Their answering machine says they are working on your order but they are not which you find out when out of desperation you go to the store and there are 3 people working there trying to catch up, non of whom are answering phones. Once you get to the front of the line and talk to them they will start working on your order. You can wait and get it, but they have a big problem right now and it is very frustrating. read more

Seems like they have a staffing problem here. When they text that you your prescriptions are ready don't assume all of them will be there, I've gotten home only to see 1 was denied by my insurance and was not included....I had to call them to fix the problem and then walk all the way back. Don't bring your prescriptions here, there are plenty of other pharmacies all around us. read more

Do NOT get your photos printed here. I rarely write negative reviews because I've worked retail and I know how hard the job can be. But I've literally NEVER received photos printed on time or with quality here. On five separate occasions I've waited for 2+ hours beyond the time they said it was ready while they cleared a jam, forgot a portion of the order, or simply didn't have enough staff to manage the photo shop and store at the same time. To be fair, it isn't 100% because of the staff, it's also because they clearly don't have enough staff so that someone (who is well trained) can make sure photo orders are done efficiently, correctly, and with high quality. 5 orders completely messed up is 4 too many. I won't be coming back here and don't recommend anyone else does either. read more

Of all the drug stores in Brookline, this is the one I go too! The staff is super friendly, the lines for check out are quick and the pharmacy department is very reliable and knows their stuff. The store is clean, well light, plenty of parking and everything one would expect from a chain drug store. The only drawback is that they are not open 24 hours but that has more to do with the town than the store itself. read more

I go to this Walgreens quite a bit and the service is always great. Today though was above that when Assistant Store Manager Kisha went above and beyond. I had a $20 redeemable coupon through an app and based on the info at the store I was only able to redeem $10. Kisha took it upon herself to make sure I was compensated appropriately and was super friendly in the process. Thank you Kisha for another GREAT experience at Walgreens. read more

The staff is efficient and friendly...which is remarkable considering pharmacists and pharmacy techs are usually dealing with stressed and difficult customers. Dropped off my prescription at the pharmacy for the day the prescription was written by my doctor to be refilled. Was told by Maggie in the pharmacy that I couldn't refill my prescription until 2 days later and that it would be ready 2 days later for pick up. I showed up 2 days later and the same woman, Maggie, told me my prescription medication was NOT ready and that I had to wait 4 more days. My prescription from my doctor was written to be refilled 6 days ago. Maggie told me I could not refill it for 6 whole days after my prescription was supposed to be refilled. Incompetent pharmacy & employees. I need my prescription for a psychological illness and now have gone 6 days without it. Fuck you walgreens, if anything happens it's ALL on you. Never go to this pharmacy unless you want a week long delayed prescription refill. This is my health and well-being we are talking about that's at stake. Never going here again. read more

I will just give zero star if there is for the photograph. I think they are racial discrimination. I am taking photo here and I am waiting line and see the person work there is happy talking with a lady. However, when she see me, she change face and I say Hi I want to take photo. She say nothing and ask anther guy to take me photo. All people there are impolite and no smile. I feel so bad and disappointed. No matter who we are and who you face with, I give you respect and I hope you can give me the equal treatment. I still said thanks at the end because I just want to be polite and respect everyone.
