First time to this location. I like Walgreens photo and I had to place an order in this location... lots of parking outside . The pharmacy looked less crowded and nothing much happening around .. photo counter wasn't crowded too. There were a couple of customers .. the lady in the counter was helpful and took care of my request as the other person had many queries .. photo quality was good . Walgreens on Amboy Ave in Edison, NJ, is probably the worst pharmacy ever. Long lines to the front of the store with 10 people behind the pharmacy counter, rude pharmacists with inflated egos (particularly "Dr" Samantha Tull) who think they are authorized to tell patients what doctor they have to see to obtain prescriptions, and mistakes and delays in prescriptions and in messages about prescriptions. I have used them for years for convenience but I am done. Absolutely do not go here. You are safer with literally any other pharmacy. read more

Rude pharmacists. They won't fill prescriptions for prescribed meds, covered by insurance, that are over the counter. They don't inform you if they don't have or can't fill something. They do everything so piecemeal that I have to go almost every day to pick something up, that they didn't fill and didn't tell me about. And they charge quite a bit for delivery. Maybe they are fine for someone who only needs an occasional antibiotic, but if you have multiple chronic issues, and take more than a couple of meds on a regular basis. Do not go here. I had to fight with them get my blood pressure medication. It seems to me that a pharmacist should know which meds you can miss occasionally, and which you can't. I am going to be looking for another pharmacy as soon as I can. read more

This location does not accept delivery of oversize FedEx packages and will reject delivery. Couldn't find that info online and FedEx will allow you to ship large/heavy boxes to the store, only for them to be sent back. I found this out by contacting the store manager because the store staff and manager on duty weren't aware of the issue. Wish I knew this before I had a Christmas present sent there! Aside from that, the seasonal aisle is always a bit of a mess but the store is well stocked and the employees can help you find what you're looking for. Walgreens is also the last large pharmacy chain in the east to sell cigarettes, which is kind of shameful, so there's that. read more

The pharmacy at this Walgreens is beyond absolutely horrible and an embarrassment to the company. During my visit last night I was given multiple different reasons for my script not being available, and each time one was resolved, another problem would present itself. This is a CONSTANT issue with this pharmacy and I am truly at my wit's end. I've been a customer at this location for decades and I keep saying I'm going to leave after every horrible pharmacy experience. I've had wrong scripts filled, scripts cancelled and lied to as to why they were cancelled, been given different excuses by different staff members, within a matter of minutes apart, been told that there is not enough stock to fill a script when the script had been called in DAYS before hand, been told my doctors office had been contacted when in fact they had not, as well as many, MANY other ridiculous experiences with this pharmacy. This hasn't been with just any one specific medication, or only medications classified under various controls, but rather across the board with at LEAST 75% of the interactions I've had, as well as friends and family members have had, over the past few years with this pharmacy. This pharmacy has always had challenges, but these days they seem to get worse by the minute. The HUGE blaring issue with this pharmacy is COMMUNICATION. There is a SEVERE breakdown of communication between the pharmacy and the customers, the pharmacy and the healthcare providers, and amongst the staff members themselves. It's absolutely atrocious. Why have I continued to go back? Simply because it's auch a hassle changing to another pharmacy when all your doctors have been sending your meds to the same pharmacy for years. Tell the staff to STOP lying to customers and making up excuses. When one pharmacy associate tells you "we will get the medication in 2 days" and the other tells you "we only get deliveries on these particular 2 days of the week." It's obvious someone is just making things up as they go along. I've had pharmacists themselves tell me, over the phone, that a particular situation involving an error or issue with a medication, was being resolved, and then sent someone to pick up the medication for me, only to have them told, by the SAME pharmacist (not a pharmacy tech, mind you), that they never even spoke to me. I've submitted medications for refill via the app, that were suddenly deleted from record completely, only to go into the store and be told "there were no refills left," at which point I would have to actually show them the bottle from the last fill which indeed showed the refill, to THEN be told "it was actually deleted because it expired, we don't do refills after 30 days" at which point I pointed out that it was actually only 29 days, to THEN be told "oh, well we don't have it in stock." What kind of SIDESHOW circus act is going on behind the counter at this pharmacy?! Issues happen, I understand that, but CLEAR AND HONEST COMMUNICATION is key. Don't belittle the customers by just tossing out whatever excuses come to mind, thinking the customer will just accept it and patiently wait. This is a REGULAR occurrence with this pharmacy. Many people who don't have as much interaction with this pharmacy may accept whatever empty excuses are thrown their way, but when a customer like myself is a regular customer who frequents the pharmacy often, it becomes way to clear that they are spewing whatever excuses they can come up with. Every time I have a bad experience, I say I'm going to leave, yet I keep going back. Will I leave as a customer after this recent debacle? Hopefully. Hopefully I find the strength to go through all the tedious red tape involved in switching everything to another pharmacy. Hopefully I find that strength to leave this abusive relationship between store location and customer. It's absolutely infuriating and I will GLADLY go into more detail if anyone in upper corporate management would like to contact me. Gladly. Here's to hoping I have the fortitude to stand my ground and finally leave this circus posing as a pharmacy. read more

Walked in, needed a flu shot, got one in under 5 minutes. Everything perfect. I've stopped here before for drinks, soap, deodorant, what have you. Either I like very popular products, or the stock is low here, becuase I can never find more than 2 of any toiletry I need, and I've been here before and they were out of stock of something. Horrible service. First of all, this Walgreens was never remodeled. I think it's the original store that was built in the 60s. The wait times are always 20-30 min. The pharmacy has the WORST staff I have ever experienced. At other Walgreens, they are helpful, speedy, and efficient. They advertise Fedex drop offs but can't even scan a QR code. I had a drop off package at their Fedex kiosk and they said they couldn't pack or scan my QR code, not even print the label even though I had confirmation their location could do this. I wish they'd update their services. read more

The store itself is just fine but the pharmacy staff needs a lot of customer service/relations training. Went to drop off a prescription twice now and both times I felt as if they wanted nothing to do with me. They will walk past you, look you in the eye and keep on moving without a word. When they finally bless you with their presence it's all hushed tones, no eye contact and ignoring anything else you have to say. That last part is a huge problem because I've had to tell them numerous times that they were wrong when inputting my insurance. When I would tell them I would get a sideways look as if I had no idea what I was talking about. Then after wasting 5-10 minutes of our time they do what I told them to do from the beginning and wouldn't you know it, worked just fine. I also had questions regarding the availability of medication that they had told me would be available upon my return. I asked and get brushed off and the "next window please" sign places in front of me while Liam scowled and walked away. It truly feels like I am a bother if I have a question or, god forbid, I drop off a prescription. Very dismissive and condescending and while I sit here typing this I overhear them saying "They wanted to wait for the prescription.....well when they are ready they will be ready". Seriously? I haven't made a fuss or anything, just sitting here patiently. In the end they earned back 2 extra stars to be average. Got my medication and it was within a decent time frame. The crap attitude that is there with some of the employees is still a problem though. I think I will exclusively use the app from now on to avoid dealing with it. read more

No matter what prescription you drop off, it's always at least 45 minute wait. It also seems that when you finally make it to the counter, the staff doesn't even want to be there helping. Walgreens in Edison, NJ is pretty cool, it has photo development. lots of other things you need cosmetics, toilet paper, medicine, prescriptions, toys, milk, ice cream, batteries and other goodies. this store is always busy and the aisle are very narrow. parking lot is pretty decent, lots of room. these people are very nice and can always take care of you. read more

This Walgreens is horrible. The aisles are always jammed with boxes and carts full of stuff. You can never get the stuff you want. I used to deal with the pharmacy Department. Got so fed up with the pharmacy being understaffed unknowledgeable. Did not appreciate your business nor were helpful if you had a question. You try to call them on the telephone they put you on hold forever then you get cut off. I pulled all my prescriptions out of there. As I cannot stand dealing with unconfident people. I took all my prescriptions to Boyd's drugs in Metuchen on Amboy Avenue. Plus Boyd's delivers free of charge. They appreciate my business and know my name when I call them and are always Pleasant and ready to help you anytime you need it. Walgreens Pharmacy needs to be completely rehold with new staff or retraining the current staff. read more

Well, I am feeling somewhat redeemed after seeing others had a similar pharmacy experience. I need a much stronger word than "rude" to even describe it. I have an eye infection and, with one look at me, you'd see a swollen, blood shot painful looking eye. I was told my Rx wasn't in stock and the only other location that had it was in Sayreville. Not an option when I needed immediate relief. I pointed to my eye (duh!) and asked whether they could recommend something over the counter. The cashier walked over to the pharmacist, at the computer. She refused to even LOOK UP from her screen but mumbled while typing. She didn't make eye contact with me nor the woman asking the question. Not only is it rude and condescending to avoid eye contact but it represents terrible customer service. And that's ironic considering those behind the pharmacy window are supposed to be helping people who are SICK. I thanked her for nothing and left. Luckily my insurance company was able to intervene and get my script there today. Let's see what awaits me now.... Transfer your prescriptions stat. No one needs this nasty treatment when they aren't healthy. read more

This Walgreens is very convenient because it is open 24 hours/ day 365 days a year. The store has some great sales from time to time. However the pharmacy is atrocious! The lines are always so long. No matter what time or day you go you always wait at least 25 minutes for your prescription. Twice I waited about 45 minutes only for them to call my name and tell me they were out of stock for the medication that I needed. I have finally switched pharmacies, however I do still go there because of Virginia. She is a cashier who is so friendly & helpful. She always greets you with a smile and on a first name basis. She offers you coupons if you get something that happens to be on sale. She is the kindest soul. Virginia is the best! read more

Pharmacy wait times can be hit or miss. Sometimes it's an hour or so, other times twenty minutes. The staff is friendly and always nice and the regular pharmacists are knowledgeable and caring. They try their best with the volume of customers. And I've witnessed tons patience with unruly customers by the entire staff on several occasions. I've come here multiple times for prescriptions and I have never had an easy time. Sometimes I have waited weeks for my prescriptions because hey fail to tell me that they did not have them in stock. Today I was told they had it and it would only take 15 minutes. An hour and a half later I came back and it wasn't ready. When I asked the woman what had happened she was like " oh, well you just dropped it off a few minutes ago, it's a 15 minute wait." Obviously not. And she was very rude about her response. This place needs to clean house and get all new help that understands what customer service means! Ordered a prescription last Friday, " we need to call" was the story they were told of some technicality with a drug company. Needless to say today, 3 plus days later no call back... so I go to the store at which time everyone is rude, not to mention ignores me... some head tech in pharmacy comes to "help" (ha-ha) me, and gets flat out rude like a sort of truck stop treatment and gets in my face with the statement "no, you don't understand".. I was like really? With this I got the store manage involved, no help but a nice person... Now you see why this place needs to clean house?!!!! The upper management should read this and replay the video from 6-7p.m. tonight to see how I was abused.... Walgreen's cares for you?
