The other one star reviews speak for themselves. For context, there used to be a locally-run pharmacy down the road for like 30 years, which closed last month. So now, Walgreens is the only game in town. The pharmacy part has been closed all week. Apparently one of the pharmacists just quit and they were understaffed. We were told they'd be reopening on Friday, but when I called I was informed that the only remaining pharmacist had a family emergency, so they would not in fact be open. Fine. It happens. Not mad at the pharmacy staff, they're people too and things happen. However, I think it's a little ridiculous that a large corporate chain with the resources of Walgreens has no better solution in this circumstance than to drive 30 miles to the next closest location. I would think they would pull staff from a different location temporarily, or offer a courier service. Nope. Just sending folks to the next town over. Which, considering the current gas prices, is not ideal. I don't know about the regulations, but there just kind of seemed to be a lack of concern and not a lot done on the part of management to bridge the problem in the interim. The community this location services has a high amount of older folks with limited means. The person I was picking up the prescription for is wheel-chair bound and doesn't have her own transportation. If I hadn't been visiting from out of town and able to make the drive to Milford, she would have run out of her medicine, which could have caused severe side effects. Have to give a shout-out to the pharmacy tech I spoke to on Friday, she was super sweet and gracious and understanding. Have no qualms with the staff who man (or try to man) this location so far, but the higher operations seem to really have dropped the ball. Considering that there's no alternative and you can't simply drive five minutes and go to a different pharmacy, I absolutely hold them to a higher standard. How do you just not operate for most of a week when you have a whole community depending on you? How do you assume that every one of your customers will be able to make a half hour drive for meds, and not offer any accomodation or alternative for those who can't? Not feeling great about the fact that my family has to rely on this location given the circumstances. Really hope they improve. read more

Front store staff great . Corporate cut store hours 6 mos ago . All other Walgreen's even in small counties NYS , NJ, CT are open daily 7a.m.- 12 MN and some until 10 p.m. and Pharmacists on duty 7 days weekly. This store open 9 a.m.-9 p.m. closes early Sundays . Pharmacists quit 7 p.m weekdays. There are NO WEEKEND PHARMACISTS How is that possible ? In a rural area only "Pharmacy" in town. No competition so corporate takes advantage of needy customers by depriving them of universal Pharmacy hours access ? Should change store name from Walgreens to " Third World Village Pharmacy " read more

I truly don't get it... the doctor sent in a script for the baby that has a double ear infection and these fools never made up his meds that was Monday and on Tuesday they still didn't do it. 3 times I went in finally it was done after a fw words. EVERY TIME I CALL I am hold for more than 30 mins and then dropped. Im on hold now as I write this review. Nothing better to do than stew in the incompetence of Walgreens...what a waste. I just want to get medication refilled without waiting in the worlds longest most depressing line (that sometimes goes all the way from the pharmacy counter to the front of the store. ) Every day I wish Walgreens hadn't bought out Village Pharmacy because now once a month I have the pleasure of standing in a line for almost an hour for medication. Also, they don't take Highmark insurance so anyone local with that insurance has to drive 30 mins to find another pharmacy. Considering they're now the ONLY pharmacy for many miles, they should be held to a higher standard. Shame on Walgreens for never having this place properly staffed. And shame on them for forcing people with quality health insurance to go out of their way for medication. Fuck capitalism and fuck Walgreens. read more

Horrible customer service. I waited on the phone for over 30 minutes twice and got disconnected both times. I ended up finally get through and was told my prescription would be ready after 1pm, so I went down to pick it up. I waited on line at the drive up window for 15 minutes while the clerk waited on someone inside, which is understandable. But, I was never acknowledged and the lady in the car behind me asked me what was going on. I said I was waiting for service. The 2 cars behind me finally left, as did I. I think it's time to find a different pharmacy. Customer service is poor at best. read more
