This is the slowest and most disorganized pharmacy I have ever been to. I had dental surgery and chose this place because it is on the way home from the medical center. We have been here since 4:30 and it is now 7pm. Still waiting on one of three medications. They said they had the prescription then said they didn't. I had the doc call it back in and now they are saying another hour. This is crazy. I am in pain and just want to get home and lay down. So frustrating when you don't feel well. Update: was almost 8pm before prescriptions were filled. Pharmacist apparently had an issue with the pain meds the doc prescribed. She said she spoke to my doc and felt he was being forced to prescribe it. That was very insulting. I had to get him on speaker phone. She still refused to fill it. He had to prescribe something different. I am sure she had valid reasons for her concern although I don't know what they were. Just frustrating. She made me feel like I was doing something wrong by just trying to pick up what my doctor prescribed. Personally. I find the time this took and they way she spoke to both my husband and I unprofessional and insulting. read more

This pharmacy provides very slow service. No matter how many people are in line, no extra help is put in place. I like the drive up option but sometimes it takes more than 30 minutes to get to the window. I pass if there are more than 2 cars in-line. After years of frustration with them, I switched to another pharmacy. read more

I would give it a negative star if they there was such a choice. There's no management no matter how many times I go there the pharmacy especially has no sense of service. Over 10 days the drive-through has been closed and the party line is we have the work order and we're waiting. Apparently they mentioned it was the phone connection at the drive-through. When it says we open at nine, forget it-at 9:09 they open the windows no apologies no good morning it would take more than a good morning from this poor staff to make me return to this walgreens. Why does the pharmacy always suck here? It makes no sense that there's only one pharmacist there, knowing that people are waiting in line for a simple shot. Also, what's the point of providing an online form for us to complete and we have to fill it out again in-store? What a waste of time and convenience. Worst pharmacy I've ever been cursed with. Our new insurance has forced us to switch from CVS, which has been the best pharmacy we've ever had, to them. Walgreens is consistently severely slow, has only one person working the pharmacy counter 95 percent of the time, lose prescriptions, keep changing the cost and dispensing of medications where I need to keep fighting to correct it with them. If they contact you to say the prescription is ready, then go to pick up the prescription, it isn't ready yet!! Calling on the phone is horrible. They'll put you on hold forever and eventually hang up. I've had to call the store manager several times so that I can get any answers from the pharmacy. They raise my blood pressure every time I have to deal with them. If you have a choice of pharmacies, STAY AWAY FROM WALGREENS!!! read more

When giving them your information in person I need to repeat everything several times because the staff seems mentally preoccupied with something else or aren't paying attention! I've been going there since September and it's always Im almost always dealing with different people. Since day one we've had nothing but delays, false promises of prescriptions being ready, losing prescriptions, lying about requesting doctors to send them prescriptions, ridiculously long waits either in store or drive through 9up to one hour) where I've had to return from getting tired of waiting and still wait when returning to incomplete prescription fills. Walgreens in LaPlata is the worst pharmacy available to us in southern Maryland. They are slow, deceiving and liars. They basically stole $500 from me. Will never go there again. I will say that I had the worst experience with there pharmacy than any other one I was waiting for my heart meds for a week and no word from them so I went in to check if it was ready but it wasn't and can't fill say my insurance was not paying for it because I am at my limit but I don't have a limit and a week ago they said it was to soon. Needed an emergency Rx called in from my hometown doc. Doctors office started calliing and it took three calls before they were even able to reach a recording. After several hours I went to store and a very blase young man told me that they only check the recording every two hours and dismissed me even though I begged him for help. I called back two hours later and after several tries, Ashley answered the phone and said she couldn't hear me and hung up. After several tries I got Kimberly on the phone and she transferred me to "on hold hell" where I sat for 22 mins. While I was on hold, my friend dialed an independent pharmacy in the next town, called my doc in SC and in 20 mins I had my prescription. It's been nearly 24hrs and Walgreens has still not filled my Rx. There was a complete lack of professionalism, empathy or simple caring. I've never had a prescription fill problem until tonight. My cough medicine was not filled to the requested ml. I First called and spoke to the pharmacist who first questioned if I was reading the ml correctly which reflected 10ml instead of 120ml. Then he asked if I or someone had taken the med too which I responded absolutely not because I had just picked it up from drive through. He asked me to return to the store to which I did. He looked at the bottle, filled it to the appropriate level and then asked if it looked right. Not once did he apologize for the inconvenience. His condescending attitude and behavior really irritated the heck out of me. I'm going to have to rethink where I choose to get my prescriptions filled read more

All Walgreen Drugs are horrible but the one in La Plata MD has to be the absolute worst. My health plan requires we use Walgreens, otherwise I would never step inside that store. The pharmacy staff is horrible, unfriendly, unhelpful, rude and could care less about taking care of customers. The store manager acts as if he could care less. I have been a long time customer of Walgreens but this particular one is absolutely horrible. God forbid you use the drive through you might sit there for 25 mins before anyone greets you. What used to be my drug store and pharmacy of choice, has really went down hill. For one they used to be 24 hours. I could go there after leaving the hospital for my sick child or etc.. Used to love this PHARMACY - something has changed. Last Rx was sent to Arizona mail company to fill without my knowledge. When I tried to refill on-line I was told that no refills were available. When you can finally get a live body to answer I was told that I had already picked it up ... in Arizona! Eventually she figured out that it was sent to mail order. When I asked her when it would arrive she didn't know and could only tell me when it was shipped. But today took the cake. I have a horrible cold and terrible cough. Rx took over 3 hours to fill. My son had gone to the store about an hour earlier and was told to come back in about an hour. After an hour and a half, I called to check on status, and was kept on hold for over 7 minutes. They finally answered as I was walking into the store, only to tell me that the Rx wasn't yet ready. Luckily, they got it ready quickly. Never had these types of problems in the past. I used to rave about Walgreens Pharmacy. I like the Reward Point program and it pains me to consider leaving. Perhaps they need to hire more people or figure out what the problem is and get this fixed quickly. read more

Usually I don't make reviews... but today was the day. I've come to the routine of waiting in a line for the pharmacy, them telling me it isn't filled yet but to wait 20 min. and then come back, where I again wait in a line. But today really went to a new level. I had to visit the store 4 times, first the request wasn't sent through yet, no biggy, I'll come back in a few hours after they call. I come back, now there's an issue with the order, okay not their fault, I'll call and get it fixed and come back. I come back an hour later, they have the order and just need to fill it, I'm told to come back in 20 min.. I come back 45 min later, oh it hasn't been filled, I am instructed to sit and wait and it'll only be 15 min tops... 45 min later and I am still waiting here, creating this review now because of how annoying this is. Each time I came back I also had to wait in a long line again. With all this being said, I'm super contagious and sick, sitting around elderly people who shouldn't catch this respiratory sickness, but I'm here for medicine for my 6 month old baby at home who is in desperate need of medicine because he has RSV which is also super contagious and brings great discomfort. I've spent over 5 hours today going to Walgreens and waiting for a prescription. Yes, I understand the first few times wasn't their fault, but then they should've been on their A-game after that. Greatly disappointed and that's being said with my expectations already being low for this place before coming, due to past experiences.
