On the north west corner of Airline Drive and Clearview, this is easily accessible heading south on Clearview, or west on Airline. Some trickery is needed to access it from any other direction. This stretch of road is busy in all directions. Some trickery is also needed to leave the parking lot if heading in some direction other than south or west. This location is still like new, neat, clean and well organized. It is always nice to come in as it has been well maintained and well stocked. The employees actually sound like they want to be here. Generally, there is not a long wait to check out. There always seems to be a large inventory of what ever it is that I need that visit, which is nice. What a joy to come here. I called (2) days ago so my Rx would be READY on the 2nd. I called, and they will call when it's ready. After 2 hours I go on the chat. Their response is "it's not ready". (Like a nationwide chat might be able to accomplish something AI couldn't.) The actual person on the chat says "you have to call them"! I replied I did that already. So the chat says "they haven't STARTED to fill it." Me- I am just SO SHOCKED BY THAT. Can you put it on auto-refill? Unfortunately we cannot do that with this particular med. Me- So who do I have to beg to get it filled? You have to call them at 504-885-4867. Me - yes. And if I was there (or ANYWHERE) it would be 30 minutes max. Well you have to speak directly to the pharmacist. Me-the tech answered the phone like she just ran a 5k. Her word "we'll call you, click" means absolutely nothing. Well if you called, and are now on a corporate chat that has direct access to the store, you'll have to go into the store. Me- so after placing the order, calling for the order, contacting the HELP CHAT, I have to go to the store? Chat-yes. At this point you have to go into the store. Me- So after watching "citizen vigilante" should I go there and wait in a constant line of 20 holding a baseball bat? Chat-you have to go to the store. Me-so what is the purpose of this chat if you can do nothing? Chat-to answer questions. Me-Is that the reason why private equity had to bail Walgreens from bankruptcy a few months ago? Chat-you have to go to the store, and I have other clients waiting. Me-ok, well thanks. So that's about the gist of an "actual customer experience" It's good to know we have the best medical care. This place is just a bureaucratic bottleneck and a mess. And nobody cares. read more

I refilled my inhaler prescription online and it said two days to refill, I thought that was excessive as all they have to do is slap a label on it but it is what it is. After three days I hadn't gotten their phone call to pick it up so I went online to check its status and it said it was being processed and they're a little behind. Finally after five days with NO inhaler I called to see if they could send it to another Walgreens as my chest was starting to get heavy and I was told they hadn't had a truck due to weather. I asked her to find it at another location and she said she was going to check the shelf first, then came back and said they had one on the shelf and it would be ready by the afternoon. THEY HAD IT ON THE SHELF?!!! This isn't my first rodeo with them, they are continually rude, unprofessional and act like they just don't give a crap. I've been lazy about moving to another pharmacy but yall, IT WAS ON THE SHELF! It's time to stop being lazy. read more

This pharmacy had the worst service I have ever been too, had 3 people working & made me wait 20mins just to unlock a cabinet so I could grab a small box of Claritin out of it. Just horrible customer service. That's why they shouldn't lock the Claritin in a cabinet .something that should take 1 minutes took 20 minutes .never again. read more

This really is a terrible location. We waited for 35 minutes for our prescriptions and still got the wrong medication order. Either the clerk does not understand how to fill an order, or they really do not bother to check the pills before they get sent out. There are a million places that fill the orders better than here. The business itself is clean, well stocked and staffed by a competent who takes pride in the service provided. The company Walgreens is slowly dismantling the benefits of having a neighborhood pharmacy. I don't place the blame on Walgreens exclusively. If you educate yourself on the pharmacy policies impacted by the insurance industry, you will understand. One example is Medicaid and reimbursement to pharmacies. I believe this is a State issue. They reimburse the pharmacy for the cost of the medication only, so no profit to the business. For all of the purchase, procurement, safety checks by the highly educated pharmacy staff and Pharmacist, typically a Doctorate educated PharmD with the student loans to prove it. On average $2.00 per prescription. That does not even come close to paying overhead. read more

I've had mostly good experiences at this Walgreens location (for both shopping and prescriptions). They recently upgraded the freezers to have electronic doors. It allows you to look at the available options without actually opening the doors. Usually, the pharmacy is quick to fill prescriptions. They tend to get busy at certain times, but you can get in and out a lot quicker later in the evenings. I've also used this location for my annual flu shots and have only had good experiences. read more

Horrible pharmacy service. It's usually never ready when they say, they lose your meds and have to redo them and they make you wait forever on the phone if you are lucky enough for them to answer. But then sometimes you get lucky and every goes smooth just like it should but not too often. read more

FYI, I just found out that both Walgreens and CVS have started putting your drugs in BIG bottles that do not fit in your dopp kits due to them being be big pharma inconsiderate idiots. Surely trying to cut costs. I apologize for blaming this pharmacy for it. I have never had issues with them before. Since I do not have time to wait for them to put them in the correct size bottles when I pick them up, I have no choice but to switch to one of many smaller customer friendly pharmacies we have. I was taking the tot to the pool, and I remembered that she didn't have sunblock on. I quickly pulled up the app and ordered sunblock. Within 30 minutes (could've been less), we had our sunblock and was on the way to the pool. read more

I've been a customer with Walgreens for a long time. I'm starting to get tired of people that came after me in line by almost 10 minutes and somehow getting there pharmacy medication before I do and the people working there are rude and unapologetic. They truly act like, we need them to survive which is a shame that this type of mentality is common. I hope the manager sees this and does something. read more

This rating doesn't reflect the service for the entire store. This review is for the pharmacy there. I never write reviews, but I have been mistreated on MANY occasions at the pharmacy at 4501 Airline Dr. First, I wasn't allowed to drop off my paper prescription just 4 days early because I was told that the medication is USUALLY on back order and they have to order it. My medication has never been on back order and if that was the case, that's exactly why I'm turning in my prescription 4 days early, so I don't have to get there the day of my medicine runs out and they say we had it two days ago or we have to order it. Next, I came back on day 29 of my 30 day supply and I was told it's too early to fill. March 4th was my last refill and the pharmacist didn't understand that there are 31 days in March, so April 2nd would be 29 days. They used to fill it 3 days early, and I'm okay with 1 day early, but she is trying to tell me that April 3rd is 29 days. I even counted the days on my calendar on my phone for her, got the manager of the store to agree with me, but she wasn't over the pharmist on duty. She still refused to fill my medication, so I said that I will wait until her shift is over and get the other pharmist who originally said to come back on Apr. 2nd and it will be ready. I always get my prescriptions late at night after I get off of work and there are 2 different pharmist, one is absolutely awesome and helpful and the other is miserable and ALWAYS gives me some type of problem. Walgreens MUST do a better job on hiring the people who can wreck their reputation and business. read more

Your pharmacy cares nothing about it's patients. I had surgery Monday and have called every single day for 5 days to try to get my prescription filled. I sit and wait... and wait... and wait.............. and no one ever answers the phone. One call I waited for over 2 hours. Finally I spoke to the general store manager who put me through to the pharmacy very quickly. The pharmacy is ignoring patient calls. I want you to know your pharmacy has made my surgery recovery feel like hell. And I hope someday someone makes all of you feel this utterly worthless. You all deserve it. read more

I was brought to Walgreens to get 3 prescriptions filled for my son. I waited for them to be and entertained myself during the wait by shopping around. The staff I encountered and especially Crystal were very friendly and helpful. The prescriptions were filled in a shorter time than they told me and a shorter time than I expected. I would provide no stars for this Walgreens pharmacy if I could. In fact, my experience here will prevent me from going to any Walgreens ever again. I called to make sure they had a prescription I needed for my father after his hospital stay. I spelled every letter of the prescription out to confirm they had it, as my regular Walgreens did not. The pharmacy technician said they DID have the medication. I said again, are you 100% sure - not just that you carry it but that you have it in stock. He said yes. When I arrived at this Walgreens, I dropped off my prescription to wait for it, and it took them 15 minutes to call my name over loud speaker just to tell me they actually didn't have it. When I tried to figure out who gave me the misinformation that cost my father the ability to sleep peacefully, they said I must have spoken to someone at the "call center" without knowing it. When I asked for the number to the call center, they said there isn't one. Walgreens used to be a great pharmacy, but perhaps they've gotten too big. This sort of bureaucracy and lack of accountability and traceability is completely unacceptable. read more
