My brother was in hospice and the pharmacy side was great. However, the equipment side was horrible. After my brother passed away, I called to schedule a pickup. I provided two phone numbers but was not provided with a date. I found a notice on my door know that they had come by but left. I was 12 feet from the door with my dog that goes nuts when anyone knocks. Not a peep out of her. I called back to schedule and was told they would pick up between 8-11. Again, no show. I called and they said that they were sending someone out right away. 2 hours later, no show. I call back and the call (disconnected). Called again and was told that no one was available to take my call. The worst customer service to a grieving family. read more

This place has like awful customer service. I mean that should probably be one of their biggest selling points as a local pharmacy. I missed a call from them and they don't leave a message, and when I call back in to find what it's about they put in the absolute bare minimum of effort and shrug. read more

Their staff are always so rude to me. I need the delivery service affair pharmacy I certainly don't need their attitudes. Sometimes have difficulty with voice calling on my telephone which I cannot afford to replace at the moment but they treat me like I'm disturbing them. I was once a pharmacy technician and I was always told that no matter how difficult the situation to never take it out on the customer. To have a soft spoken bedside manner and be kind because these people are ill and in need of help. Patio Drugs gave me excellent service. This is not a typical review. I don't live in The Metrys and am not a regular customer. What I am is a guy who had to use Patio for work, and was reminded how local places often do things better than the national chains. You may be asking yourself why I would need to use a drug store for work. Before you jump to any conclusions; no, I am not a drug dealer. But I did need to pick up some medication for work, and Patio was one of the recommended places that accepted the vouchers I had. Initially I was kind of disgusted that I couldn't go to a Walgreens since that is who I have used before when I was sick. After setting foot in this store, I don't know why I ever thought Walgreens was a place I should get drugs. Patio has been in operation more than 50 years. The only way you can stay in business that long when massive chains are your competitor is by having great service. Patio has an abundance of that. There were four ladies working the counter when I dropped off what I needed. They were just what you would expect from a long time local business. That means they were friendly, happy, and good at what they do. It took a couple of days for my drugs to be ready. I experienced the same stellar service when I came back in. I had a question for a pharmacist and he was also super friendly and helpful. You know what else I liked about this place? The other customers. Just like most old school places in the area, I struck up a conversation with one of the other customers. The last time I tried talking to someone at Walgreens I got pepper sprayed and the cops were called. That may be an exaggeration, but you get my point. If you find yourself in Metry and need drugs (legal prescribed drugs you degenerate), I recommend you visit Patio. read more

Patio Drugs (Healthcare Network) is the oldest operating pharmacy in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana and has been serving its customers for over 54 years. "They are a full service pharmacy offering a complete line of pharmaceuticals including medications that must be compounded". What also sets them apart from other pharmacies, especially the national chains, is that they carry so many specialty items that the larger chains just will not carry. My relationship with patio Drugs began 6 months ago when I was in search of a specialty product from "BG". I called all the big chains and even some of the smaller stores to no avail. One of them recommended Patio Drugs and to my delightful surprise, they carried the item in which I was seeking, and had it in stock at all times. I instantly became a loyal customer. The staff is very friendly and very eager to assist their customers. "They also specialize homecare pharmacy, hospice and end of life care, customized dosage compounding and durable medical equipment." . Unfortunately, Patio Drugs has only one location in the New Orleans Metro Area, but this small location employs 80+ individuals including pharmacists, technicians, patient services representatives, DME service technicians, delivery personnel, customer service staff and support personnel. At times the line can be long, but there are always several people working the counter and the line usually moves quickly. I would advise to call your refills in ahead of time to further expedite the process. If there is something that they do not carry, they are more than happy to order it for you and get it as quickly as possible. The operating hours are not as convenient as the big chains but they are open on Saturday and the personlized service more than makes up for it. read more

Worst pharmacy in Metairie. Patio could not care less in keeping customers happy. My prescription cost 170 for 25 tablets. On this day I could only afford to purchase 20 for $ 140. When I returned the following week for the remaining 5, I was charged $ 75. No explanation given, just this is the cost "would you like them are not or we can transfer to another pharmacy". I paid the $75. The following month I had all my prescriptions transferred to a pharmacy that's open 7 days a week not 5 and a half day on Saturday. Best part I paid less. read more

I got my doctor to write a new prescription with a different strength for my compound drug but received the medication with the old prescription strength. I thought it was the doctor at fault and spoke with her and she said he had done it correctly and showed me that. Next time when I was refilling, I asked Patio Drugs about the prescription and they told me they had one on 'hold'. It turns out that they had "decided" to refill my medication on the old prescription without asking me. When I tried to ask why, the "owner" told me that that's how they do that, and I should know it. I asked how I can know what their system is, she started to scream at me and said I was the worst customer and there was always a problem with me (I don't remember having a discussion with them earlier except once where the drug came without refrigeration - it needs to be refrigerated but this was years ago). I have never been treated like this by any company before. It it weren't one of the only two compound pharmacies in New Orleans, I wouldn't even pass by their location. Just read the other negative reviews. They are rude, mishandle your prescriptions and blame you for that. read more

Today i went to p/u script This woman from back (not sure if she was a pharmacist, student or a pharmacy tech) comes out to tell me my full script was not covered. And that only 26 pills in 28 days. She had that and a cash price for remainder of the of the script. I asked her when did this go into effect⁉ Her RUDE answer was TODAY . I then went outside and called the ins company only to find out the only thing needed was a pre authorisation. This woman was just TRYING TO GET CASH ( the best and easiest way for the pharmacy to turn a quick profit) Sad Sad Sad I picked up 10 other scripts. Guess its time to find a new pharmacy read more

I went to this place because I was having extreme pain. I had what I did not know was gallstones in my gallbladder which I had to have emergency surgery. I want to get my pain medicine filled from there and they said they had no pain medicine. I find that to be untruthful. read more

As a veterinarian I can tell you that I need fast accurate local compounding services for my pet patients that need special concentrations scaled to their size and doses or liquids for hard to pill pets! I see horses to birds and they make sure I can get hard to find or special flavored meds to treat my hospital patients and provide a place for my local clients to fill Rx's I don't always keep in house or for atypical things. I can call them any time and ask for ideas how to nebulize a breathing drug to a bird in a specific dose and they will help! They are all local and treat customers with respect and accuracy. In my 12 years of practice, never a mistake or rude employee reported back to me as a doctor that at times, gets to hear the whole long story of the stress of getting human also pet medications. That's a big accomplishment! Many pharmacies actually laugh at or belittle my clients that shop for expensive human medicines for a beloved sick pet mouse, rat, or house pig. If I send them to Patio they are treated professionally as I would expect. Businesses like this deserve the money we all have to fork out for our human Rx's too. If someone should get a profit for good work, it's Patio and not big box stores where you may be just a number or online places where you have NO idea what is in your bottle! Especially true for pets! Shop local Louisiana dawlin'! Use your local good pharmacy for Rx's from your vet and your own vet's office, clinic or hospital for heartworm and flea preventions. Do not take a chance with most popular online pet pharmacies unless your vet directs you to use one. There is a huge black market for dangerous pet meds repackaged and dated or made to look like European or UK labeled meds. As an ER vet I saw enough reactions to leave this advice here! Listen to your doctors, vets and pharmacists at Patio because they do actually care! read more

I started using Patio Drugs for some compounding medicine also some medical supplies. I had to purchase some support stocking so i went to Patio Drugs. Kevin McAdams waited on me. He explained EVERYTHING TO ME. The pro and cons from open toed and closed toe. He measured my legs 3 different places and was kind enough to show me how to put them on. Kevin is GREAT . He took his time to make sure i completely understood his instructions. He explained everything about the stocking and the washing i instruction. Because i'm elderly he made sure i completely understood everything before i left the store. I highly recommend Patio Drugs and especially Kevin for assistance with medical supplies. I love Patio Drugs! When I was able to get around and go in the store, I was greeted by name...first time it happened...what a shock...a good shock! Now I use the delivery service and I could not be more pleased! I've been using them a good plus 10 years and only had a couple delivery times/issues which were nothing really. I'll take that ratio any day! They work around my needs...like calling before coming to make sure I am not in bed or back of house where I can not hear anyone at door. I use Aloe Vista cream daily...they carry it right on the shelf!!! I used to have to order and wait at other pharmacies and a lot would not even order!! Customer service is wonderful.
