I still do some of our supplemental grocery shopping here: either harder to find items or those that bear a cost saving for us, such as quarts of heavy cream. If the item is the same price as at our local supermarket, the 2% cash back loyalty program win it for our local supermarket. And we still buy some non-grocery items here, rather than automatically ordering from the mega online company that I will not name here. Another change is that I have switched to the Walmart pharmacy for a couple of prescriptions, one for myself and the other for a pet. The service is excellent and the pricing an improv over our previous pharmacy. A supplemental benefit is that if I want to use up rewards money from my health insurance card, the self-service registers accept the card when other stores did not.

You can visibly see the discoloration on the chicken on the shelves. They almost ALL have chicken "juice" in the bottom which is only released after the chicken starts to rott. Not only that but as soon as you open the packaging you can smell the rotten meat stench coming off them. Its despicable that a produce manager would allow such things to happen for so long. After serving that customer, the same individual then gives us permission to check out and just like any store, the customer behind us was allowed to place their items on the belt at exactly the same time we did. Unbelievable! It is not the first time we have received that type of treatment here. Employees seeing examples of discriminatory practices by the management sets the rhythm for everyone else. After this much time we will shop elsewhere. Enough is enough and there are too many other valid stores with employees that understand customers pay their bills and keep their stores going. They are not doing us a favor. A great example of why Maine economy suffers and no one moves here.

For 6 MONTHS my Drs office has been "trying" to get it approved from Medicare and they kept saying they would not approve it as a D prescription. It is a B under medical. So the Drs Office was stupid.. I have a supplement and Walgreen kept dening it. Today I took 10 minutes and got through to Medicare and they were kind and helpful and here's the deal...Walgreens does not bill Medicare. Medicare suggest CVS. I am not near one here but they are in Auburn, Augusta, Waterville, and Portland. I will be changing all my perscriptions to CVS and drive the hour to get it. SO NOT HELPFUL.

I live over an hour away and this is the CLOSEST pharmacy to me. So anytime I need medication, it is a pain to drive down, but it's the only option. There are other pharmacies near this one, but I needed a certain medication that only this pharmacy had at the time. They didn't have enough to fill my entire prescription, so they were only able to partially fill my prescription. I had enough to get through about 5 days but needed to return for the rest. I tested positive for mono, tonsilitis, and strep throat, so making sure I can take my prescription on time every single day is essential to my recovery! Well, I'm here to tell you, the people in this store do NOT care about you or your wellbeing. I'm just now feeling well enough to return to work, and don't want to miss any more time, so I planned on making a trip down on the weekend. Well guess what?! The pharmacy wasn't open! Tried again on Sunday! Still not open!!! They claim it's because they can't find a pharmacist to come in and work. I get it, people don't wanna work right now, with covid still going on, and I get that some people don't like working weekends, but you are messing with people's health by not having someone there! And causing unnecessary stress! The last time I was in this pharmacy they had at least 5 people working in the pharmacy. So, you're telling me you can have 5 people working during the week when it's not busy but can't even get ONE person to work during the weekend. Now I've had to skip doses of my medication because I ran out. The last thing I want is to get sick AGAIN, all because you can't find employees to work during the weekend. Thankfully I was able to find someone who could pick up my medication for me during the week while I was working. Get your shit together Walgreens. Maybe hire some people that know how to do their damn job. The staff are very helpful; instead of pointing and saying over there, they will actually take you to the area containing the product(s) you want or need. If I feel the need to go to a 250,000-square-foot superstore, I will drive the 75 miles to get there. At Walgreens the past several times I've waited upwards of 10-15 min to pick up an already filled script just because of a lack of available pharm techs due to the pandemic and their dedication to processing Covid tests, vaccines and drive-through. At Hannaford if you need to speak to the actual pharmacist he's almost always available and helpful! The way Rite Aid's is laid out the pharmacist is in a separate part of the pharmacy. Waiting in their store in line is excruciating for me I am a miserably impatient person. I have never had to wait more than a few minutes at Hannaford. And when they are running behind shopping in their store while they fill your script is pleasant, there's always some thing I need to pick up there.
