Pharmacy manager is a huge jerk. Especially the Asian male pharmacist. I've been coming here to pick up my medication for over 4 years and there's always some issue. Today I decided I will never go back due to how the pharmacy tech and the asian pharmacist treated me. If I could save anyone from coming here, wasting your time and getting an enormous amount of stress- find another pharmacy. If you don't like your job find another job. It's not that hard to be kind and personable to people. Especially working as a pharmacist who should be helping people with their medications. I have never been treated this badly by this Pharmacist. He is so rude and judges me on the medication that I am on. I don't like getting a dirty look from the pharmacist and a nasty tone when they see what medication I am taking. These actions of the pharmacists on duty highly degrade me as a person and make me feel ashamed. Watch out if you're on controlled substances and need to pick it up here!!! The main pharmacist will treat you like it is some kind of burden to help you and dispense your medications. Also- I wanted to bring up the fact that a few months ago they gave me someone else's medication that had the same name as me. I have no idea how this happens since the main pharmacist is so strict and a tyrant about dispensing meds/refills. I only noticed when I looked inside the bag and realized it was not mine. Needless to say that should never have happened. What if I had a dependency on the medication they ACCIDENTALLY gave to me? What if they gave someone struggling with addiction the wrong medication due to a name mix up? Really sucks to think about- but clearly they don't care about patients and their health, welfare, and safety. read more

For Your Peace of Mind, Never Use This Pharmacy. Print out a blank hourly scheduler for the week, complete with hours 9am-8pm on weekdays and 9am-5pm on weekends; be sure to black out all the lunch/break hours they take from the schedule so that we're only dealing with their professed work hours. Now, tape that weekly schedule to a wall, blindfold your eyes, and throw a dart at it; no matter where on the week that dart lands, the pharmacy staff will not be working at that time. The typical customer experience during their working hours is that the staff won't be present. When the staff is present, they're on break. When you do get the rare chance to catch one of the pharmacists/staff members working during their work hours, they'll tell you that the text/call they sent out letting you know that your prescription was ready was actually premature; either they don't have it ready yet or they're still waiting for it to be delivered. You'll be advised to return in a few hours or on another day, at which point the staff will once again be absent. If any work is going on behind the counter, it seems that it's solely channeled into a herculean task of constantly inventing new ways to avoid working at all. It's almost impressive how the staff collectively manages to cram all their duties (if there really are any) into what seems to be a grand total of two hours of work every three weeks. That being said, perhaps it's not fair to fixate on their laziness when it's rivaled by their sheer rudeness and guarantee of terrible customer service. One can wait in the drive-thru line for over 20 minutes on a typical return trip to pick up a prescription that the pharmacy previously said they had but didn't, as the staff member managing the window moves at the snail's pace a longtime customer of this Walgreens has learned to accept. Then, once it's your turn to pull up to the drive-thru window, having no more cars either in front or behind you, the staff will throw up the signs letting you know that they're not present and won't be serving you before rushing out of the room for the urgent task of being on break again. With that, a third visit to retrieve one order has now become necessary, if you're lucky. I am never using this pharmacy again; they have absolutely no respect for their own customers and their customers' time. Frankly, I'll probably never use any Walgreens ever again, since the fault for poor performance at any location ultimately falls onto the board and the CEO. Whether the company's hiring poorly, letting standards slip, neglecting to train managers and employees, failing to maintain employee morale, or simply underhiring so they can squeeze as much money as possible out of getting two people to perform the jobs of ten, the buck stops with the board and its CEO. The only way you can get a company to improve its service is not by refusing to use this or that location, but by refusing to use the entire company ever again, at least not until it cleans up its service. read more

Pharmacist needs a vacation or customer service training . Staff in the pharmacy. seemed disinterested in assisting other customers just pointing to aisles . When he gave the shot he was a bit more personable .The only good part is that when I walked in with a FedEx package the guy at the front noticed And called for someone to go to that counter otherwise this would have been my first ever 1star review. read more

The pharmacy manager here is a total jerk!!! Called Walgreens headquarters and filed a complaint about him; was told that it would be given to upper management and they would get back to me. Nobody has gotten back to me after three weeks so transferred all (and there are many) of my prescriptions to Walmart! read more

I took my my kids to do COVID tests and never got the results. Employees I dealt with were not very helpful. One of them told me that they are understaffed and I believe it because everyone is, but come on try to do a good job on your first try because it will save you time dealing with customers in the long run. Margaret blamed everything on me and never apologized for any part of it. First time going to this Walgreens. Never again. Will stick to the Walgreens by me even if I have to wait a little longer to do a COVID test. Huge waste of time. read more

Came to this walgreens store to pick up some last minute items. The store was pretty clean and the employees were really nice and helpful. It was also nice to see the store had a bunch of sales going on different items. I would definitely come back to this store if I'm in the neighborhood. :) read more

I gotta tell you if this wasn't around the corner, it wouldn't be our pharmacy. On several occasions we've had them tell us they were waiting for our dr for a refill only to find out that wasn't true. A month ago, my husband needed his bp medicine and they kept telling him the dr hadn't approved a refill yet. He didn't have any on a Sunday and he ended up calling the 24 hour one only to be told sure it'll be ready in a half hour. This is just one occurrence of many! read more

We go to this pharmacy because it is close - bad idea. We could not get a prescription refilled for pain management for my wife post surgery. I got there and was told "it's out of stock". When asked why we weren't told this after getting the message that it was ready for pickup, we were told "the system should have notified you". Well, it didn't. My wife's surgeon said "Don't ever go to Walgreen's they suck." She needed a higher dose of a pain medication, but they had the lower does in stock. I asked if we could at least get the lower dose then. They didn't understand because it wasn't prescribed. The surgeon said they should have had no problem doing that, but that's typical of Walgreens and CVS. I really wish Keefer's was in network, we have had great service from them for all of our pet prescriptions, but BCBS has us stuck dealing with the bigger and more expensive pharmacies. We have had other issues with this store in the past and this was just the icing on the cake. I'm sure I could find fentanyl in just about any neighborhood illegally, but heavens forbid, you can actually get legal prescriptions because of "supply chain issues". Maybe lets ask the Mexican cartels how they are so good at sourcing product but drug companies can't... It's amazing what a 3rd world crap hole our country has become in the last 3 yrs. Keep pushing clot shots and push for people to be boosted 6x over with an experimental injection - we can source that, but pills that are actually necessary - forget those... read more

I seriously believe that the HR manager of this store searchers far and wide for the absolute dumbest people they can find. Several months ago I told the cashier (before she put the amount I was giving her) that I had exact change. Before I could get my change out, she entered the tender I gave her and she took the change out of the drawer. When I tried handing her the change, she was so confused on what to do, you would have thought that i was trying to pay with foreign currency. Today I came in to pick up a FedEx package that I had rerouted to here. BTW, the fact that they have this service is why it got the high score of a 2 star. I handed the guy behind the photo counter my ID and it was taking a while for him to "verify". He asked if I had a door tag and told him FedEx didn't leave one and he said that was an issue and that the address' were not matching up. The package says "ORIGINAL RECIPIENT ADDRESS" Followed by ALL the info on my ID. Under that, there is a box that says "Hold at the following location" with my name and the address of the Walgreen's. So this guy was trying trying to verify the address on MY ID with the address of the store in which he is working. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? Sorry folks, Ya can't make this stupidity up. read more

Clean store, generally friendly staff. My recent passport photo experience went well, the associate was understanding and took several photos for my mom and I until we were satisfied. The pharmacy is fine and is ready when they claim they will be. As of recently, the staff I happen to come across doesn't greet what so ever and on several occasions let out a sigh when I've asked for help locating something. Not all of course but a few. Also, on several occasions, items are misplaced so that they reflect a different price. I get to the register and need to vouch for the price I saw and they go to the aisle and price check which is frustrating. UPDATE - I learned from a customs officer that smiling passport photo is not acceptable. Ever wonder why our passport photos all look like mugshots? That's why. 2 stars for Walgreen's passport photo services only because I appreciated her willingness to work with us until we were satisfied but if we needed these as true passport photos they would have been denied and we would have required new ones. I was informed that Walgreen's is aware of the specific policy and so I believe it was her responsibility to let us know not to smile, for that she deserved one star. Luckily for our purposes (visa application) all was fine but I would be aware of this when dealing with true passport renewals and such. The price is steep as it is and post photo, I am positive Walgreen's won't take responsibility for not abiding by the rules. read more

Liz, Irwin, and Michelle are very dependable when I have a problem or questions. I've used other Walgreens before this store opened but not any longer. I scheduled an appointment with clinic and I was taken right away when I got there. I was getting a flu shot and a tetanus shot. Very quick process, the nurse practitioner was super friendly. She made me feel comfortable since shots make me somewhat nervous. Overall a great experience. read more

Pharmacist charges $10 more each Rx than other Walgreens. If they see on computer an Rx ordered over phone through another store they cancel & put in thru their store. Filled instead of transfer, Rx didn't need filled, went thru other place to transfer all. I always confirm other location, know pharmacist & only have it in phone. I have to wait at other store to reverse it, they unaware it happened until pick up. Our passports old & current are all smiling. ? Other employees nice helpful, clean store. read more

At 7:30 am, Made an appt online for the clinic for 2 in the afternoon on the same day. Received a confirmation via email. Left work early and Arrived at 1:30 for appt only to find note taped on clinic that they're closed for the day. For the walk in clinic - Please don't go there. Registered on line, and was seen within 10 minutes of my appt at 4PM. The nurse prescribed meds - and was filled within 30 minutes at this walgreens. -- So that's the good news. Got home - took the medicine and within 2 hours had a super severe reaction to the antibiotic. On Saturday morning - I called Advocate -- finally was able to reach someone -- after being transferred etc -- and was told the nurse at the clinic would call back immediately or at least between as soon as she was free and prescribe something different. No one has called,emailed etc and its now over 48 hours. Its unprofessional, lack of follow-thru. read more

Wanted to have a strep test after experiencing a bad sore throat for over a week. Walk-ins accepted at their Care Clinic. Tried a few years ago to do a walk-in but they were overloaded with people. Thought I'd give it another try so as soon as they opened I was there and since I was the first person to register they took me right away. Veronica, the nurse practitioner, was friendly, professional, and very thorough. Luckily no strep. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience. read more

I woiuld like to compliment the pharmacists for the service I received at the pharmacy today 10-11-14 at the Mount Prospect location on Kensington. My husband and I went there for our flu shots and for some reason there was a problem with the insurance info for me. My husbands info went into the system without a problem, however my info did not. The pharmacist took the time to call the insurance company on a Saturday for insurance approval. Of course no one at the insurance company was available. Despite how busy the pharmacists were with it being flu shot season and dispensing rx's they took the time to assist me. They also remained pleasant despite having to take extra steps to assist me. I did receive my flu shot and I am very pleased with the treatment. They took a frustrating situation for me and turned it into a positive one. read more

I felt the need to post it even after all these years because thinking about the experience still gives me chills********** (Nov 2013) I went to the care clinic for flu like symptoms and a possible allergic reaction to medication or dust I'd been experiencing over 2-3 days. Jan or Jill the Nurse Practitioner at the care clinic lacks any compassion or understanding for patient-provider relationships. She does however posses excellent understanding on what she can charge for and what she could be held liable for. Telling a patient - "Go to the ER, because, if you walk out of here and die from an anaphylactic reaction, I don't want that on my hands" - really shows where her priorities are. If she really thought my health condition was so detrimental, why would she think it was ok for me to drive myself to an ER instead of calling an ambulance for me? She didn't even tell me where the nearest urgent care was, I had to ask her to please tell me where the nearest urgent care was. I asked if she could at least treat my flu like symptoms. She refused saying she would then have to chart it and charge me a full office visit which I didn't have a problem with, but at this point, seeing her attitude was a complete turn off. Terrible qualities as a health care provider. Are people actually allowed to practice with this sort of work ethic? Do they not teach providers the importance of professional etiquette anymore? Are people getting sub par treatment by going to these care clinics managed by the nurses like her? It is a sad day when health care providers in this country care more about patients fitting into their charting protocol, their payment for a visit and whether they will be held responsible for anything in the future than the actual health and well being of their patients. I ended up going to northwest urgent care where they did not find my condition to be anywhere near life threatening with any potential of an anaphylactic reaction. They were happy with the way I had managed my condition prior to seeking professional treatment (which Jan or Jill was quick to condone and shame me fore). She deserves negative stars and a mandatory course on basic mannerisms. She sets a bad example for Nurse Practitioners who I have regarded as quite competent until I met this one. read more

This has to be my worst experience ever. I went to go fill a prescription and they had only 1 line open so I'm standing in line with 7 sick people. I waited 20 min to fill my prescription they told me it would be 45 min I came back 1 hour later and they filled a prescription from 2 years ago I explain they made a mistake the guy told no! Your doctor screwed up ! I said if you look you guys have filled my scrips for last 2 years. Rather then give me the right script they took 20min to give me a refund. Walgreens is a big joke I will go to CVS or another place but never Walgreens. Worst customer service ever They don't even deserve a star. The pharmacy department is fantastic! I had to replace my prescription eye drops that were needed for pink eye. They contacted the practice that I got the drops prescribed from and I was called back in just over an hour and a half. I received fantastic service yet again from them and their staff, quick, friendly and accurate! I am a customer for life! read more
