Of the Walgreens slated to shutter this year, I hope this location is on the chopping block. If employee turnover is any indication, then the several dozens of unpacked containers sitting on the floors and empty shelves should be your other warning sign. Multiple stories from friends and neighbors about problems at this location and last night a man was asking for a reprint of his receipt only to get flack from the manager that chose to shout at him from the seasonal aisle rather than approach him and deal with the issue calmly. Very unprofessional. When I was checking out I tried to use a card that was preloaded with some funds. I asked if the cashier could enter the amount prior so that the card would work. (Most systems don't query so you need to enter the exact amount.) when that didn't work she told me to swipe and of course that didn't work. Annoying. Anyways, this location is in bad shape and needs to close asap. read more

This was my first time here and it was actually pretty good. Reading all of the negative reviews, I was quite surprised because I didn't have a problem with the pharmacy, front cashier or "homeless people begging." I came to pick up a prescription that was transferred here unknowingly and ended up shopping for other items. I bought a bottle of Smart Water with Strawberry and Blackberry flavor, none of which I could taste but hey, it was refreshing on this scorching day in Weesiana. That aside, I think we should give these folks a break. I use to complain about customer service all of the time but given the current economic climate we're in, I'm just glad there are folks willing to show up to work. Be kind one to another! read more

Horrible service in photo dept. at Walgreens on S. Carrollton. Wanted 7 8"x10" photos. Received email saying ready for pick up. When I got there only 4 were done because they ran out of paper! Said truck was bringing paper next day. Manager did give me the 4 free which I appreciated. Went next day and told the truck didn't have the paper on it. Waited two days and they were finally done. So three trips over several days to get something that should have been done in hours. read more

Rude and unhelpful clerks in the pharmacy. Multiple instances that I have been chewed out for their errors. Just a couple examples: 1. Went in for a vaccine. I filled out the paperwork online in advance. The clerk gave me the form to fill out. I said I had done it online already. She said it didn't come through. When I grumbled something about the waste of time, she curtly and with derision said, "Just sit down and fill out the form!." I left without the vaccine and went somewhere else. 2. They repeatedly put refill orders in when I don't need them. The clerk said I must have my device auto-refill option turned on. I showed her that it was not. Her response was to look me in the eye and exclaim, "Then you should have called and canceled the items you don't want!" I have had similar issues with another nearby Walgreens. After many years as a Walgreens customer I have finally had enough. I am moving to another (independent) pharmacy. read more

As other reviews have already said, one of the pharmacists is shockingly rude and unprofessional. I didn't know what the generic name for the medication I was prescribed (and had never taken) and was treated like an idiot. Service was super slow at the pharmacy when I stopped by, but the crowd of customers was large. So I waited patiently for a very long time. By the time they got to me, they told me some things about my insurance coverage that didn't make any sense - essentially it wasn't covered. So I declines one that was $400 and paid cash for the $42 one. When I got home I called my insurance to find out wtf. Turns out the pharmacy didn't even contact them. The pharmacy simply didn't want to be bothered. I've filed a complaint with my insurance company but I'm sure that will not result in anything. Seriously. I wish I could give them zero stars. Beware! Any time you visit this location, you will get harassed by homeless people begging for money. Mgmt does nothing about it. They have security, but it seems as though they have made friends with the people begging, so nothing is done to make them leave. The lighting at night is very inadequate, making it dangerous for anyone to visit at night, esp women. Just be careful if you must visit this Walgreens location. read more

Walgreens does not take responsibility if your same day delivery doesn't get to you. They advertise on their app that you can get same day delivery from their local store in as little as 1-2hrs. I ordered through their app and everything seemed great until my delivery was not at my door after it said delivered. The only time you find out that they outsource the delivery is after they confirm it is on the way via Uber or DoorDash. When I called the store to tell them that my order did not arrive, they immediately told me they had nothing to do with the order and that I needed to contact DoorDash directly myself. It isn't their problem. This is an order I placed directly online through Walgreens! I did an online chat with Walgreens support. They said I needed to contact the store, because my order was over $50 they couldn't issue a refund. Talk about run around. Finally had to call DoorDash to issue a refund. And it was too late to reorder for delivery that evening. To be fair, I had two other smaller deliveries earlier this week that went very well. I'm upset because Walgreens advertises on their website that they will deliver to you in 1-2 hrs same day. Nowhere in the site does it mention fulfilled by Uber/DoorDash. But when the delivery is lost they don't take responsibility and give the customer the runaround. read more

The pharmacy keeps dropping the ball. I called ahead to make sure the prescription was filled they told me to wait 1hr30. I came 3hrs after that call and it's still not ready. In addition I had to stand waiting for them for 15 mins before they acknowledged me. I was the first in line that eventually wrapped through the isle. read more

So drugstore visits are usually in my F-Uggs, yoga pants, and a ginormous sweater looking real fine. What's great is THIS drugstore is the mecca for college students who look exactly like this so I blend real well. The parking for this Walgreens stinks during the day since they're like 7 businesses all vying for parking in this lot, but come 8:30pm on a Wednesday, you'll definitely find a spot. There's nearly always a homeless person outside of this location but I feel like that's average for New Orleans drugstores, just wear your sunglasses till you get through the beepy things, and don't forget to put them back on as you exit. I've nearly never waited in line at this Walgreens, and I feel like I can get in and get out (pending parking, of course). They don't have beaucoup sales, nor do they have Ginger Ale (today), but for the most part, I've found what I needed in this Walgreens. So while it could be an A-OK, It's getting a Yay! I'm a fan. for no line and the ability to wear my near pajamas with confidence. read more

It's a little squishy in here, I must admit. The aisles seem very close and packed together, but I guess this isn't the most spacious location for a Walgreens so they're trying to pack as much bang for their buck as possible. It kinda works, as they have a really great selection of stuff considering the relatively small size of the store. I wouldn't call this location dirty, but I also wouldn't call it spectacularly clean. It's nice enough to get the job done. The parking can be just a slight pain sometimes, I swear everyone drives like an idiot in this parking lot but if you're patient and watch out for crazies backing out of spots or dodging into the lane without looking then you can usually find a spot. read more

I have never made a Yelp review before, but three years of going to this Walgreens (it's close to my work) has gotten to me. Not all the people here are bad, hence the two star rating, but I have had several encounters with needlessly rude employees over the last few years. I just don't get it. It was almost impressive how much disdain the cashier behind the photo counter was able to pack into our minute-long interaction today when I bought a drink. Speaking of the photo counter, the photo department has misplaced my photos twice, so I would recommend avoiding this location if you can. In fact, save yourself the frustration entirely: a CVS is a few minutes down the road, and that's where I'll be taking my business from here on out. read more

This is the absolute worst drug store ever! The so-called "sales" are never marked on the shelves and makes it difficult to buy unless you have a flyer with you. Then, at least half the time, they are out of the product that is supposed to be on sale. I was never told I could get a rain check. In fact, once, I was told "the tru broke down". I guess it's a joke to them. I walk a mile to go to another pharmacy now unless I absolutely have to go to that one. read more

Eh, it's Walgreens. I just use the pharmacy here, and I have accepted that It's never going to be great. There will always be a wait, even when there aren't any other customers. Neither employees nor customers will ever look happy. My prescriptions will always be ready 20 minutes to 3 hours later than anticipated. No one will ever change my address in the system, no matter how many times I ask. I've run into a few especially frustrating mess-up's here when dealing with refills and with insurance changes, but for the most part it's fine. And it will always, always be better than the Walgreen's at Carrollton and Claiborne, which I'm pretty sure was built on a Hellmouth. If you're in the neighborhood, it's worth traveling a little ways down Carrollton to visit this one instead. read more

It's a small store with limited snacks, drinks and waters. They don't sell alcohol of any kind. They do have the typical brands and things you'd normally find at a Walgreens except for greeting cards. They had a ton of cards for birthdays, religious nuptials and the upcoming holiday. For whatever reason, all the wedding cards they offer have religious sayings. Since it is on the smaller scale, the aisles are tighter. The staff is friendly and I haven't had to wait too long in a line here. read more

Very poor service in the pharmacy department. Not only was my prescription never ordered but I was lied to that it was by a professional that wanted to get off the phone and move on with her day. I was told that it would be there within 24 hours, then that she didn't know when it would be there, then that it would take 72 hours, all in succession without any real check. Only after coming in to the store another time was I told that the medication had not even been ordered. Thank you Colby for actually helping me and not throwing my problem under the table to be dealt with by someone else. read more

I didn't expect this walgreen's to be as awesome as the one in my neighborhood, but it does have a wider variety of products within certain categories. I was shocked at the amount of dog treats/toys; they had some pretty nice stuff. It's always clean, too (that's expected with Walgreen's, though). I've gone here on occasion over the years, and the only thing that seems to be consistent is that it takes FOREVER to check out. Whether you need a prescription or just regular checkout, expect long lines and a tedious wait. read more

Beyond rude. If your card chip reader is broken how is that the customers problem? The cashier couldn't have paid any less attention and told me to keep trying and after I swipe 3 times, it will go through. After swiping 20+ times I told her it wasn't working was there another way? She said nope. I find it hard to believe a company as vast as Walgreens will not manually enter a credit card number if their machine is broken. That's a great way to lose sales. Walgreens has been going through rough times and is about to merge with rite aid, so the rite aid at Oak is closing. This smaller Walgreens does have a lot of stuff, and the groceries help when you don't want to go for a longer drive. Parking lot sucks except in the summer when the students are gone. Doesn't sell liquor, which I see as a feature. Staff ranges from super to indifferent. If there is a line, try to get cosmetics counter to check you out. If you're picking up a prescription, do a little shopping while you wait to have 1 checkout. read more

The pharmacy at this Walgreens sucks there's always a over a 20 minute wait and the people that work there are incredibly slow. They never have more than one person helping customers and they always let the drop off people cut the people picking up prescriptions. I purchased some products and the 2 African American cashiers were speaking loudly to each other making coments about costumers, one of them said 'im not in the for this shit" she went through the motions and was very short, and had an attitude and then they continued their conversation about talking about the shooting in el paso and one of them comented of course it was 'a white person' . The pharmacist here went above and beyond on a Friday night and a Saturday morning to help me through some side effects with a prescription, and get me an affordable solution prescription called in from urgent care. Considerate, good listener, all while doing a million things at once, I was super impressed and appreciative of her help!! She even expedited knowing I had a flight I was trying not to miss. More than I could have hoped for from my pharmacist. Thank you! read more
