i would give 0 stars if i could! the pharmacy is by far the worst i have ever dealt with! clueless, and horrific customer service!

The absolute worst Walgreens within a 250 mile radius. Prescriptions are always wrong, that is, when they actually have them when they claim they do. They never answer the phone, constantly claim you don't have insurance when you do, and make mistakes left and right. I no longer trust getting my medication here because the last time I was stuck there waiting for a prescription that was "ready to be picked up" according to the phone call and store website, I noticed the behind the pharmacy counter looks SUPER dirty/extemely unorganized. The pharmacy techs couldn't care less about their mistakes or their disorganization, and would rather just tell you to come back after waiting in line for a half hour than actually explain what happened. No apology, no "oops!", just expressionless apathy. read more

Incompetent and slow staff. Cannot do their jobs fast enough. Always an issue calling in a prescription. They'll let it sit for weeks at a time and not tell you that it's been filled. Calling back every day, they do not have it filled. They had it filled but it's been sitting for a week. Can't get their shit together. Calling in and trying to arrange express delivery. They cannot find my account. They cannot find my payment information. They hang up the phone. Terrible service. read more

Between the long lines and losing my filled prescription this is by far the mostly inept pharmacy staff so far. This time not only were they trying to fill the medication that I'm no longer taking which told on first call to have to tell again on my second call as well. After being given the runaround no one knows why a week later I still don't have my prescriptions. Definitely moving on to somewhere else. If they don't care now I'm sure they will when they lose their job since they cant fill a prescription which is what they are there to do. read more

The pharmacy is not on my favorite list. I was there to pick up my medication on a Thursday. As the tech was ringing it up he told me how much it was going to cost. I didn't get it that day due to the cost. I came back LESS than a week on a Tuesday, to pick it up only to be told they misplaced my medication and would have to reorder. No one could explain how my medication was lost or misplaced. They response was so nonchalant as if oh well it's not here. The worst!!!! read more

Longest wait times from a pharmacy bar none. They employ the slowest pharmacy workers I have ever seen. I am so disappointed that my insurance no longer allows us to use CVS as our pharmacy, they were so much faster and more efficient. This Walgreens is amazing!! First off, it looked like a supermarket. They had a section for fresh produce here!!! Also, they have a medical clinic here so if you need to see a medical professional, they have people here that can help. Their pharmacy section is huge and they have two big screen televisions that show who is waitlisted to receive their prescription and who is ready to pick up their prescription. I've never been so impressed with any Walgreens as I am with this one! read more

Crappy service.... At about 6:30pm on 3/8/12, While waiting in the extremely slow long line due to the slow sloth like work of the cashier. I finally got a chance to buy my items, but the girl behind the counter decided to give me her shittiest tone of voice and said, "Excuse me sir the sign says Please wait right here until the next register is....blah blah blah. " Granted I was litterally 2 seconds early and a foot away from the sign, I must have did something aweful. Did I break the Walgreens code? Did I offend the cashier in some Polictically correct manner Who knows?!? No customer service at all. She's lucky to have a job. If she reads this, and you know who you are, I'm tryly sorry if I did something wrong. Otherwise get a life 'cause your life is sad in that you treat people like that. Your horrendous. Wow. This Walgreens is so much better. This new Walgreens opened last week on Monday and replaces the Walgreens that was located @ 916 Madison. Walgreens preserved the facade of the 1920's era Collin's building which I also give them props for. When I went in there this weekend for my first try...one of the workers started talking to me. I told them how nice the I thought the store had turned out and she told me that they were also a Green Walgreens! They have sinks and floors made out of recyclable materials. This Walgreens is on the SW Corner of Madison and Oak Park. It is SO MUCH BETTER then the old one. It has huge parking lot that has room for more then 6 cars (like the old one). The parking lot is very well lit in comparison to the old one and to the other CVS's in the area. This is the safest I have felt at a drugstore in Oak Park in a while. The windows are huge, and the building looks great. I am very happy they moved and reconstructed this Walgreens. There is a much larger 'food' section and the store feels safer, friendlier and I think will improve its business. read more

This Walgreens pharmacy is the absolute worst! The employees are sooo slow, literally dragging their feet around behind the counter. Don't even try to get a vaccine, appointment or not you'll wait 45 + minutes while literally watching the pharm tech just sitting there chilling instead of doing his job. "Every Walgreens is the same". Well, maybe.. Yes, they all have pretty much the same products. But, what stands out for me are smooth floors, architecture, (granted it's not Frank Lloyd Wright material... but still) and cleanliness. As a former stockboy, who spent hours "facing" product on the shelves, sweeping floors etc., I can't help but notice these things. (Memory burn) I was surprised to see the offerings of fresh fruit and vegetables... but really, who's going to say, "hey buddy, don't forget, get me pack of Marlboro lights, a Snickers bar, red bull and... a Granny Smith apple". Anyway, good for Walgreens for keeping a good bit of the façade and original building, instead of the cookie-cutter stores it usually builds. read more

Nasty rude staff going out of their way not to help you .....I drop off prescription for 2 things at 10:00am I was told it would be ready at 1:00pm I called store over 5 times to check and see if prescription was ready i waited on hold for over 30mins and kept getting hung up on I talked to server Al store employees just wanted to speak with pharmacy no one would help they kept transferring me and no one would pick up my phone call.I finally was desperate for my medication and just went to store to pick it up several hours after time they said it would be ready which was 1pm ....I was told it would be ready in 5min .....after patiently waiting for 25mins I only received one prescription they failed to tell me they didn't get second one ready I finally had enough of the run around and asked to speak with store manager....I was meet with a rude nasty attitude and was told that I would have to pay for free prescription and if I didn't want it I could just leave....so I left ....I hope that nobody ever has to deal with such nasty rude staff...but I have a feeling things will never change at this store you guys suck ! Just visited this Walgreens that moved from the location located next to Robinsons to down by the corner of Madison and Oak Park. What an upgrade! I'm really liking the new place. They now have a drive-thru pharmacy pick up-something everyone loves. It now comes with a take care clinic, digital photo pickup center, and quick shop. I recently used the take care clinic for pink eye. It's pretty easy. You just sign yourself in. The nice feature is that they have a computer board which shows how many people are ahead of you. The same service is used for prescription pickup. Other benefits to this store: they have a small food island with sushi, dinner meals, and quick lunches when you're on the go. I'll definitely be back. read more

By far and away the worst pharmacy around. EVERY TIME I get a prescription filled here there is a problem. A prescription was called in at 6pm. I called at 8pm to verify it was ready. It was not. I was told it would be ready by 8:30. I get there at 8:30, wait in a long line. Still not ready. I was told it would be another 30 minutes at least. When you're sick and you're told a prescription will be ready at a certain time (2.5 hours after it was sent), you expect it to be ready. I called another Walgreens closer to home to have the prescription transferred. By the time I arrived at the other Walgreens 25 minutes later, the prescriptions were ready. Another time I was at this Walgreens, I had a prescription sent in, and I went to pick it up the next morning, about 12 hours after it was called in. I received a text stating it was ready. When I get to the pharmacy, they tell me it was "in storage" because I didn't pick it up quickly enough. I was there within an hour of receiving the text it was ready. They said they couldn't get it "out of storage" and they could refill it but it would be an hour. I'm not upset with the pharmacist or techs. They were clearly overwhelmed and stretched beyond capacity. It's the HORRIBLE management, scheduling and incompetence of the people in charge of staffing the pharmacy. I will never be going back to this location. read more

I never write reviews but I have never experienced such horrible service as I have at this Walgreens. My doctor ordered my prescription to be refilled on Friday the 18th. I called on Friday and they did not have It in stock. Fine no problem. I went to pick It up on Saturday and they said they did not have It in stock. Although I need this medication to function as a normal human, I do not need It to stay alive so I was okay with picking It up Sunday. I called Sunday and they said It probably won't be in until Monday. Alright so 2 days without my medication is annoying but I can live with It. So I called again today, Monday, before going in to work and they said they don't have It ready AGAIN. I was livid, but was told they would send me an email/text BY NOON AT THE LATEST so I could pick It up on my lunch break. It was past noon and I did not receive any update, so I called again. Not ready. By 330, I called again and It isn't ready. I decided to speak with the pharmacist directly and he says it's ready... no phone call, no message, nothing. By now, I have missed 3 days worth of medication because Walgreens couldn't tell me my medication wouldn't be in until Monday... I will never be using this pharmacy again and advise others who rely on these medications to live and FUNCTION to also browse other pharmacy options read more

This is a small Walgreens but luckily stocks just about everything I've ever needed to pick up there, except thermometers during COVID. I've been shopping here for a long time and have occasionally run into an unhappy employee, but for the most part they are excellent here! They are not a 24 hour location but do stay open until midnight, pharmacy too. read more

DO NOT go to this Advocate Care Clinic! I made an online booking for 2:00 pm. I left work early because I was very sick and was looking to get in to see someone in hopes of getting a prescription as I was traveling soon. I arrived and checked in and sat in the waiting area for 25 minutes. I asked the pharmacists on duty why no one had called me and they looked confused. They told me the people on staff (affiliated with Advocate Care) had gone to lunch. I spoke to the manager of the Walgreens and she tried to call the Nurse who supposed to be on staff. I waited an hour before I walked out and went to Oak Park Immediate Care (down the street on Madison) and I was seen inside of 5 minutes. I just couldn't believe that the staff at the clinic went out for an hour + lunch, knowing that I had an appointment. The booking was made at 8:30 that morning and upon checking in, my appointment was recognized by the computer system. This is not an endorsement for the other immediate care center I went to. My advice to you is to simply avoid this particular location at all costs. I sat there with a fever for an hour, only to not be seen at all. The most unprofessional customer experience that I've ever seen. I'm not one to really complain about customer service. I realize everyone has off days, etc, but this was unforgivable. No one from Advocate Care took the time to follow up with me to see what went wrong. I will be following up with that company in hopes that it won't happen to anyone else. I will also be avoiding this Walgreens location as well, as the staff wasn't very helpful in solving my issue. read more

Great location, nice space, decent selection, busy parking lot. Much higher prices compared with the Osco down the street. I stopped using the pharmacy a couple years ago. Now I just go for the occasional item I can't get at Osco. I made the mistake of ordering something off the Walgreens website, and trying the free delivery to this store (my local Walgreens). My item arrived at Walgreens in 2 days, but they never called/contacted me to let me know it had arrived. I tracked the package online after no call for 10 days, and could see that it had been delivered. I went to the store and asked the first person for my delivered item. They directed me to the cashier. I waited in line and asked the cashier for help. They appeared... confused... and then said they would go to the office to look for it (?). Didn't look up anything online. Came back... with nothing. Called the Supervisor/Manager, who appeared listless and annoyed and clueless about what I was even asking about. Walked slowly back to the office, came back and said they couldn't find it. No offer to look it up, check with shipping, to try to find it, to re-order it or refund me my money. So I pushed.... I have already paid for this! It has arrived! Where is it? Finally gave up. Manager clearly didn't want to help, didn't care. So I went home and called Walgreens online. They put me on hold while they called the local Walgreens, and came back and told me the store had lost my item. Told me the Manager was rude and unhelpful. Told me they would ship the item direct to my home overnight to make up for the inconvenience. I will never order from Walgreens online for delivery to my local Walgreens again. read more

I had forgotten about my rather disgruntled review of this Walgreens until I logged on to Yelp for some other reason. I want to give credit where credit is due, and update my comments after some time has passed. This Walgreens pharmacy is still not without its problems, but they have obviously spent some time and energy in trying to improve the overall situation. The current set of assistants and pharmacists are light-years ahead of where they were a year ago. They are generally knowledgeable and helpful and I have not experienced the frequency of unavailable prescriptions that I used to experience. I have a prescription medication that is a bit difficult to find and after have a couple of conversations with the pharmacists they order it each month and it saves me from having to drive to Northwestern Hospital to buy it, which was my previous routine. I appreciate that. Walgreens the company could clearly do a lot more to provide adequate staffing to what is obviously a very, very busy location. Having worked on a pharmacy benefits management company lawsuit years back I have some insight in to the behind-the-scenes in that business and am sympathetic to the volume of work the staff has to put up with. I suspect this an enormously profitable location and they could stand to hire several more people in my opinion. The area needs a redesign. They finally removed the useless round desk that was never occupied, and if memory serves they also removed the pointless "fill your prescription here" computer terminals that never really functioned. However they responded by moving the shelves so close to the pharmacy that if there is a line people end up hidden in the shelves and there is confusion when other customers walk up. Lines are fairly common here, maybe it was a deliberate attempt to hide the line to avoid customers from fleeing. If anyone from Walgreens read this PLEASE BRING BACK THE DROP-OFF WINDOW. Nothing is more irritating than having to wait 20 minutes in line to drop of a prescription. I can only speak for myself but I suspect everyone resents the hell out of that, or enduring the same wait to ask a simple question about a product. Make some sensible, easy, way to drop off a prescription or get a questions answered. The pharmacist is alway always too busy to sit at the desk you have next to the counter. I have prescriptions that need to be dropped off with a hard copy (pain meds) and I need to present an ID when I drop them off. So i can't reorder online. The death of the "drop-off/Consult" window was a grave customer relations mistake. Spend a little extra money on staff, with an overall increase in efficiency, working conditions (I am speculating) and happiness all around. To that ends the empty pharmacist desk along with the former urgent care-now turned storage space area, looks pretty bad. The three stars is an average, there are times where they goof things up, don't have things ready when they said they would, etc., But there are Pharmacists and pharmacy staff there who provide truly exemplary service as well. I went here to go to the clinic. It was supposed to be open unti 4 on Sunday and it was 3:15 when i arrived. The nurse standing by the sign that said 4 stated she was closed. She said I am working on one patient and have one waiting and i said but you are open til 4 and her reply was Well i can't help everyone. Nothing like well let me help you find the closest clinic as i know you don't look so well. I was not on the corner of Healthy and Happy this was the corner of HELL Thee And Nazzzz TAY. I have been using this store and their pharmacy since Apr. 2015 and I must tell you the service gets worse and worse. It's takes hours to get a prescription filled, the staff is rude, and their is no sense of urgency. If you need a prescription in a timely fashion, I would not recommend this place. Further, if you use this as your local odds and ends store be prepared for long waits. The front cashiers are also slow. If you use this Walgreens be prepared to spend some time there waiting to be served. read more

Maybe the worst customer service ever. My wife ordered photos on Snapfish for local pickup. Christmas cards, to be precise. 80 of them. For about $70. The clerk at the store insisted she purchased 80 boxes which, at 20 photos per box, came to a total of 1600 cards. She was so overwhelmed at the thought of filling this order that she canceled it. Even after my wife assured her that all we wanted was 80 card, or 4 boxes. (After my wife waited ten minutes on hold, hung up, called back, was told to come in and deal with it, which she did.) Mind you, even a little bit of deductive reasoning should have worked here. Did this employee really think that $70 would cover the cost of 1600 prints? That's one helluva discount code. We'd been warned by our neighbors to avoid this location. I was sure they were exaggerating. But this seals the deal. read more

I feel obliged to counter some of the blistering reviews regarding this outlet. On Sunday, I went there for the first time. I have a hard-to-get prescription so, when it was unavailable at another Walgreens, I gave this one a call. The pharmacist promptly informed me that it was available at just the pill count I required...so I needed to act. I cabbed it over and was processed by a personable clerk. I let him know I had a cab waiting, so he made mention of it to the pharmacist and said it would be 15 minutes, though they had it in about 10 minutes though there were other customers. I've waited MUCH longer at other Walgreens when there wasn't a customer in sight. So, at least for me, it was a positive customer experience. read more

I like this walgreens. It is open and clean and also has a modern design on the interior and exterior. I like to come here because it is two blocks from my place. You can grab all the essential non-food items. You can also pick up those last minute greeting cards or a quick bottle of wine. The wine is of a decent selection as well. read more

Props to Walgreen's for going, well, GREEN!!! They have recently installed electric car charges in the parking lot as well. (Gov. Pat Quinn was in attendance for the unveiling). The staff is courteous and the line moves much faster than it did across the street at the original location. I like the small selection of fresh fruit. They also have a little deli and food section.. I just can't trust these items.... I just don't care to eat a pre-made sandwich from a drugstore. I think most people would agree with me. How can you not know if you sell an item? If you don't know then ask someone that might do? Like a "MANAGER"!!! Went in looking for a case of Brisk Ice Tea made by Lipton was told by 2 cashiers they don't sell that tea. I was like "wow" since when they both said they been stop selling them. I go to the walgreens by my home and guess what I found. You guessed it right. Why can't people know their jobs? I been in customer service for nearly 20 years and I know how a customer need to be treated. These 2 did not attempt to try to find out if they had what I was looking for in stock. read more

This Walgreens is a pretty ok store in general. The prices are a bit high, but they are constantly having sales. It has a great location (the schoolkids at brooks have a nice place to go to finally) and the checkout line moves pretty fast. They have a nice selection of candies and holiday items (I got Christmas presents for my HUGE family for just over $20). Also, if you don't hear about a sale, the cashier will tell you about a sale on an item you're buying (i.e. Arizona iced tea is two for a dollar, salads are buy one get one half off) so when you leave the store and find out about a sale you won't say "I could have gotten an awesome deal!" The store is really clean and easy to access. They have really cute carts that are kind of like a shopping cart and a shopping basket mixed. However, I'm afraid I'll have to take away a star because of what happened today. I was looking for candies with my friend in the candy aisle. There are a lot of school kids there because, well, it's the candy aisle. It was a bit packed. An employee passed by and yelled at the kids to grab their merchandise and just leave, they were totally blocking the aisle. I walked out of that aisle and just went into another one. About a minute later, I went to the checkout counter and was waiting in line. There were a few more kids near the line who were probably checking to see how many items they had. The same employee yelled at them to hurry and get in line. I just thought, "Do you want people to not come to the store?" She was, like, beyond evil. I cannot believe she was hired. I probably would've reported her, but I didn't get her name. I know that some kids might shoplift or something like that, but I have never seen an employee this mean. And I know because I come here a lot. All in all, it's a good store, but try and stand up for your kids if this one employee starts yelling at them for no reason. read more
