Best place to go if you're trying to avoid the Aldi, or your shopping around and the food court is too expensive which in my opinion it is. The place isn't dirt cheap but much cheaper. You can buy lottery tickets here as well and be informed about it. They have a great variety of munchies and $0.99 bottled Arizonas! They also have medicine, Zippo lighters, tons of munchies as well to name a few.

For you uninformed lot, tamales rojos - or "red tamales" are a slightly spicy pork in a red sauce wrapped in corn dough and fried in what I believe must be lard because the darn things are just too good not to be very fattening. This place has the best meat to masa ratio I've ever had, just slightly more masa than meat, but not so much that the spice is all hidden. I don't like tamales verdes (green ones) in general, so I can't speak to the ones here. My stepmom says they suck. But the rojos are gold, solid gold.

The interior of the store is clean and uncluttered. The bathroom was clean, complete with hand sanitizer. The best part was the gentleman working when I was there, 12/9/20, was cheerful and welcoming. He seemed to actually enjoy beinging at work. God love him. He made my day.

I pulled the paper on the first item off of the UPC code of easier scanning without having to have the cashier touch my item. The cashier blew a gasket because I did that, she slammed down the scanner device and told the other lady to ring me up. Then she went over to the other cash register to ring up a different customer. As she walked over to the other cash register, she blurted out "I got you" to the other customer and proceeded to ring up his items. The other lady came over and was VERY pleasant, however, I was done dealing with this business for LIFE! The first cashier might not think COVID is real, but I do and I don't want any more exposure to other peoples germs/viruses than absolutely necessary! Which is why I held on to my item for her to just grab the scanner gun and scan the item. Her snide remark and attitude sealed the deal though. I don't NEED to patronize that business when there are others nearby that sell the same items and they actually DO take COVID seriously and mask up and use the scanner the way it was designed to be used. I would NOT recommend this location to anybody who wants to stay healthy and not catch COVID!! They think COVID is a joke and do NOT follow any of the recommended guidelines. They act like COVID has been eliminated from society and that there is no chance of them spreading it or catching it. I only point that all out so I can say with some authority that after visiting Speedway locations in about 8 states, this is the most incredible station I've visited. It's in a great location (if you happen to live in Plainfield, which I don't) right on the Lincoln Highway (if you happen to know about that.) The station is huge with more pumps than I could count and a full truck stop area for 18 wheelers. The store is enormous with more selection than any Speedway I've visited before. The most unique feature of this particular store is a grill. Yes, a grill. Most Speedway locations have pizza and sandwiches, along with a roller grill and so does this one, but it has a grill! Food is cooked to order, which you place on a kiosk workstation. The computer gives you a confirmation which you take to the register. Once your order is paid for, the confirmation becomes a receipt and you simply wait for your number to be called. Incidentally, this Speedway had the lowest gas price I paid in the full length of Illinois on my trip. Yup, I'm a fan!
