I was so surprised by the 1.5 star rating I just made a yelp to leave a review. The Rochester Walgreens is great, even when I dont show up to get my scripts they call and let me know I have until X day to pick up before its returned to stock. Even then it just means I'd need to call ahead of time to get them filled. A place like Walgreens in rochester handles literally thousands of prescriptions a week if not more all these people "I had to wait 20 minutes boo-hoo 1 star" "they were a bit short with me and didn't smile 1 star" are annoying. I have worked many a manufacturing/shipping jobs so imagine every order you pick and prepare is now dependant on if people show up and if doctors are auto sending scripts you don't want​ or not sending what you do need i imagine its hell on earth on the other side of that counter I once saw them dealing with understaffing and like half the people in a 10-15 minute line were loudly complaining or getting aggressive could you imagine being the one dealing with that? They've been great for me. Sometimes you have to wait a few minutes and sometimes your doc or hospital or insurance or whatever mess things up for you. It's American Healthcare and its a S show, and the pharmacists are doing their best despite it all. Take a breath, consider having empathy for the human beings who are providing a service to you, it's gonna be ok. If you hate waiting so much get your boring meds delivered, though obviousoy be wary that your meds will be left at your door not in your mailbox if you aren't there to accept delivery. If you have issues with the broader health system well congratulations and welcome to the resistance but you're directing your frustrations and ire in the wrong place. read more

A pharmacy is a pharmacy, and all will have problems, but this was very frustrating. I had my doctor send my script to this pharmacy because it's listed as 24/7 and I work nights, so it's hard for my to get to a pharmacy during normal business hours - I call to check on my prescription and am left on hold for over an hour and a half. No one ever picked up as once the clock hit 1:30am, the system hung up on me for the pharmacy's scheduled meal break. When I called the store itself to see if the pharmacist was in, I was informed that they would not be 24/7 all week - but the answering machine and the store's website don't mention this at all, and still act as though the pharmacy is available. An hour and a half on hold, and not once did the machine mention that no one was there. Just update the machine if it's going to be a week long thing, I've seen other Walgreens locations do it before, this was beyond frustrating. read more

My review is based upon service at the check out counter and online orders. The staff is kind, friendly and invested in providing great customer service. Walgreens in general has great prices and sales on household products as well as bath and beauty. The website is easy to use so you can shop and pick up your products later. This has to be the worst pharmacy that I have ever experienced. I have been with this pharmacy for approximately a year. During that time I have made a special trip to pick up my pharmaceuticals. They were not ready , five times this year. What's puzzling is that I'm receiving a text telling me that they're ready for pickup and when I get there they say, oh the pharmacist was sick or all the pharmacists was late, for work .."Can you wait 15 minutes" ..Now recently, I received a message that I have 2 prescriptions to refill. So I called them yesterday and said I'd like to refill them and the person on the phone said there are no refills ready to be filled. That was yesterday .I get a call today from the pharmacy that I have 2 refills that should be refilled ,"would you like to refill them?" This is the most inept pharmacy I've ever experienced in my 60 years plus.. I highly recommend you doing business with a different pharmacy. I got a written prescription from the hospital that I was told to bring to any pharmacy. When I came up to the window the lady with short white hair and glasses kept asking for my name after I stated I wouldn't be in the system and I needed to give her this written thing. She rolled her eyes and sighed and said "gimme that" so I gave her my paper. Turns out the hospital didn't give me the right printed prescription so that was my bad, but she was so insanely rude for no reason. I am clearly young and don't know how this stuff works, but I know how to be respectful to another human. read more

I've had my last rotten experience with Walgreens. After giving all my info to the automated system, it puts me on hold to wait for a associate. Then it tells me my wait time is 6 min. If I'd like a call back touch 1, So I get the call back, and they don't know why I've called. Finally they tell me I can pick up my prescription in the morning. When I ask if they will have both medications,, he puts me on hold for a long time, and then says yes we have them both. Can't say I believe him, as having been through this exact process twice recently, and when I arrive they are missing one of the two. I'm done. i will call my doc on Monday and have them all moved to Rite-Aid. read more

I went back after 9 months or so. I had a new prescription to fill and I was going to be in the area for an hour so thought I would do a quick drop off and then pick up in an hour. It was not the case. I went inside. The drop off lane was closed No sign or info. So I moved to the next window and saw a lady waiting. I Waited in what I thought was a line. A pharmacy tech saw me. Ignored me. He actually had to keep looking at me as I was waiting in line in front of his window. The woman in front of me wasn't moving. I asked if she was in line. No. WTF. So I moved to where this imaginary line should have been. Tech took someone else first. Clearly he thought I was there just to stare at him all day. Eventually I ordered my script and went on my way. I returned two hours later. I went through drive up thinking it can't be as unorganized as inside. I waited 20something minutes in line. I spent less than $4. I was wrong. DON'T go here. Gosh I wish I would listen to myself. Unorganized. Unhelpful. Clearly don't want new customers. Two stars instead of one because I did actually get my prescription in the end. This place is horrible. Not only are the employees absolutely miserable and have absolutely NO customer service skills, it's one of the few places in Rochester that is open 24/7, which means that pretty much any time after the sun goes down, the place is swarmed with super sketchy Rochester folk, even more sketchy than the ones you'd find there during the day. Their pharmacy prices are ridiculous, but it's convenient if you need a script filled in the middle of the night. read more

Pharmacy has too many problems with service to list. If you are having trouble; filling/refilling prescription, waiting in long lines, communicating with the staff, feeling like a valued customer ... Do what I did and give your business back to one of the other pharmacies in town. Rite-Aid and CVS could solve these issues. I've used Walgreen's pharmacy for many, many years. I'm seriously considering transferring to a different pharmacy. It seems they never have my meds in stock and I end up waiting for several days for them to get it in. I would expect frequently used meds would be in stock but that doesn't seem to be the case. My doctor faxed in a script two days ago and I was told it would be ready in two more days. I asked why the hold up and the tech told me it was being filled at the "hub" and would then be sent to the Rochester pharmacy. She then asked if I wanted it "called back" which I had no idea what she meant. After having waited in line for about a half hour I went home with only one of my prescriptions which was actually due a week ago and had just been filled. I called tonight and the prescription that was "called back" from the "hub" will now be ready in 30 minutes instead of in four days. Not only are they seriously understaffing this pharmacy but they seem to have a new system that is tying up the filling of medications. I can't blame the staff as they don't have the help needed to run efficiently. I would not recommend a Walgreen's if you are looking for a pharmacy you can rely on for your meds. read more

This 24/7 Walgreens is the best! I've always pushed my scripts through them and they've provided very helpful information the medications themselves and also contraindications. They're also willing to provide instore items through the drive-thru when you are sick. They churn through their patrons quickly but efficiently and I feel lucky to have this team in my back pocket. read more

We have recently moved to the area, I originally had my prescriptions filled here, I have a chronic illness and get monthly prescriptions. I was so sketched out, I wouldn't go alone, so my husband had to go with me. Not sure why they let people hang out in the parking lot. Defiantly drug selling going on. Why are the police not sitting in this parking lot. I thought rochester was trying to clean up, this is defiantly an area that needs attention. To bad for walgreens they lost my business. Maybe they are just content to fill the suboxone, etc.... anyway I switched to rite aide in dover, not 24/7 but very friendly and no scuzzy people hanging out at all hours. read more

Frightful. Shady characters are always hanging around. I had some guy banging on my window panhandling too. They had a bullet hole up in high left window by doors too. I hate the store layout and the people that work there are obnoxious. This place is my LAST choice in area. read more

After reading the other reviews, it's a shame that so many don't appreciate the fact that this place is still 24/7 and operating. Yes, lines are long, the place is understaffed. This isn't rocket science. I am very sick and require all kinds of help. So does everyone else at a place like Walgreens. This place grossly needs more employees, but every single employee I come into contact with is courteous, kind and respectful. That is incredible, because I can't stand half the people I wait in line with. I suppose what you give is what you get. Raise wages, hire more staff for quicker ins and outs of the angry people, and perhaps the rating would go up. :) read more

Stay away! They take forever to get a prescription ready. And if you need to call, don't you will wait on hold for 10 min or more! We won't ever be back to the pharmacy. It's really only useful for 3am when your kids are sick and need medications read more

I have type 1 diabetes and was refused insulin syringes by an inexperienced worker, I was confused as to why being that Walgreens policy and NH state law itself is if you are 18 years of age or older you can buy syringes over the counter if you show your ID. So my bf and I called and came back and were very polite at first until the "head pharmacist" thought she could talked down to us not realizing that we were not children and completely had her ass served back to her on a gold platter. I think she thought she was going to start a fight with me not realizing I had my boyfriend with me who completely shut her down. Long story short, I've never met someone who contradicted themselves as much as she did, her foot was completely in her mouth countless times and she admitted to breaking company policy and breaking NH state law by saying it's pharmacist discretion on who they sell syringes to, she meant Discrimination. So yeah the employes working in pharmacy have absolutely no idea on what their doing and no customer service skills, nasty, rude and entitled. read more
