I'm a doctor. Tried to call an urgent Rx tonight at 7:20 p and I'm still on hold because about once a minute someone pick up the phone when it reaches the top of the queue and puts it back on hold instead of answering it. It's been 20 minutes. Still on hold. They are supposed to be open till 10 pm but someone sure doesn't want to work. Update: I've been on hold with pharmacist for 55 minutes now, every time it rings thru someone picks it up & puts it back on hold after 2-3 rings. Also on hold with manager for past 25 minutes hearing "staff is answering other calls". I doubt it. Seriously thought about calling cops to have them check the store. My 98 year old patient isn't getting her meds tonight. I'll be happy to tell corporate or the Pharmacy Board why. (Average wait time on these calls is 2-3 minutes.) Update 2. Manager's line was answered after 42 minutes. Not the manager didn't identify himself, offered no help or apology , told me I should go ahead and call corporate & when I asked him to walk back and tell pharmacy to pick up the phone, put me back on hold and forwarded the call. Which wasn't answered. Over 70 minutes now on hold with pharmacy line. read more

Most Walgreens in the Twin Cities close at 10 pm. When I am at a Wild game that starts at 7 pm and does not go into overtime, the game ends at 9:30 pm. I still can't get to the closest Walgreens before it closes. I try going before the game. Sometimes, it's nice to go shopping afterwards. It was December 27. I wanted to find a 24-hour Walgreens on my way back to the hotel. I did a search and found this one. Perfect! After the Wild won their game against the Red Wings, I left Xcel Energy Center and drove over to this Walgreens. It was a quiet drive. This drugstore has a parking lot. I backed into a spot and walked in. Since it was post-Christmas, there were sales happening. I saw everything from Christmas plushies, to a lot of holiday candy and chocolates reduced in price. It was nice. I saw the cutest roll of Grogu Christmas wrapping paper. He looked so adorable in a Santa hat. It was also reduced in price. I was here to get nail polish remover. I had thought that I had packed some nail polish remover pads with me. I couldn't find them. Instead, I found a small box of ten nail polish remover pads. They were exactly what I needed. I decided to get a bottle of nail polish. I went with Essie. There was a sale happening. There wasn't a huge lineup while I was here. I got a nice man who was cheerful. I paid for my items with a credit card. I also entered my phone number to get rewards. Done! I thanked him and left with my items. I grabbed some takeout before I returned to my hotel room. The nail polish remover pads worked well. I used them a couple of times. I like that they travel well as opposed to getting a bottle. The Essie polish was also great. The brush bristles stayed intact. I got the quick-drying version and it lived up to its name. I was impressed. I didn't get a top coat. If I did, my nail polish would have looked more pristine. I am rough with my nails. When I travel, the aftermath of my polished nails look unsightly... haha! This Walgreens is a gem. I love the hours. It had everything that I needed. I was pricked by a needle and had prescriptions to prevent an HIV infection sent here that I needed to start within 24 hours. One of the prescriptions was accidently deleted on their end. The other was out of stock. When I inquired about the deleted prescription (I got a notification on my phone from Walgreens that it was received and also called my health insurance company which confirmed they received the prescription, ran it, and then immediately deleted it- I'm sure it was a human error) the pharmacist interrupted me, yelled at me and stated that she was "literally the only pharmacist working" and that I would have to get a new prescription from my doctor. She wouldn't even look on the system and see if the prescription that was out of stock was in stock at another Walgreens and knew my situation because I explained it in detail to her. I had to pay another $54 to see my doctor and got prescriptions sent to Lloyd's Pharmacy. They were out of stock of the same medication but immediately said that there is a speciality pharmacy (that it is a Walgreens on west lake street) that would have it in stock and I picked it up in an hour. Had she bothered to spend one minute of her time and look she would have seen they had it in stock. The way the pharmacist treated me was completely unacceptable, and the fact she wouldn't spend one minute of her time to see if another Walgreens had the medication in stock given that I needed to start the medication in 24 hours to prevent an HIV infection- which I told her- showed complete disregard to my health and her duties as a healthcare professional. I worked at Walgreens for over 6 years and am the last person on earth that would complain about the service I received but I will never fill prescriptions at Walgreens again and emphatically urge anyone who cares about their health to do the same! I spoke to the District Manager, Paul Mcintire, about this situation and he gave me $20 in Walgreen's cash rewards, which after everything I went though was honestly almost insulting- but I appreciate he took the time to call me and listen- he said he would speak to the pharmacist. He should have at least offered to reimburse me for the cost of having to see my doctor again due to the fact that they deleted my prescription. I do not know the pharmacist's name. She was the first person to answer the phone the second time and never bothered to say her name or even that she was the pharmacist when she answered the phone. read more

Never, ever again!!! I've been going here for 2+ years simply because of the proximity to my house. I've had issues with them before but now after this visit, I'm so done here. Don't try calling with questions, and don't ask them any questions in person. I could not get them to look up insurance information to see if my medication was covered. I am fully done with Walgreens. On hold to talk to a pharmacist for over two hours and the person who finally answers...hangs up on me before saying a word. So I go to the store. And stand in line for 30+ minutes to get crappy service. The only reason I needed to talk to them was that they kept messing up prescription and I needed to talk to a person and not a machine. I get it - I'm just a number but wow you'd have to try real hard to make me feel less valued. The only reason I had stuck with them was the 24 hour service but this minor convenience is far overshadowed by being treated like dirt. Stay away. Corners of the floor are showing years of grime and tiles pulled up, shelves are beaten and worn. You've shut down most of the 24 hour stores and offer no after hours help. This is the worst pharmacy I have ever experienced. For a long time, they would never fill prescriptions unless you came inside and asked for them to be filled-even if they were sent over by ER doctors at United. I often had to come inside, ask for them to be filled, and then sit there and wait to make sure they were filling them. In the last year, I filled out online requests at CVS, and later at another pharmacy to transfer my meds. However, this pharmacy never processed those transfers. I have also had instances where my prescriptions were not filled correctly (wrong number of pills) and the techs kept telling me the wrong days in which my refills were available. About three weeks ago, a new lead pharmacist came on board and explained that she was hired to "turn the place around" because "the staff was not trained properly." I have had three experiences with this new pharmacist and all were horrible. She has horrible bedside manner and aggressively contorts her face and almost shouts at you when you ask simple questions or voice concerns. She appears to treat her staff kindly and it does seem that the logistics of filling prescriptions might be improving, however, no customer deserves to be treated in the way she treats people. Last night, my app showed that I had 4 refills left on a med, and I requested a refill. I went over to pick it up. Since there was no one in the drive through, I pulled right up to the window. The tech was kind enough and told me my refill was not available but I couldn't understand why (I also had a harder time understanding his accent because I have a hearing loss). He went to grab the lead pharmacist and it took several minutes. At that point, another car pulled up behind me. When the lead pharmacist came to the window, she aggressively stated "You need to come inside because I can't have you holding up the line." Once I got inside, she aggressively slammed a sheet of paper down on the counter and stated that "You already picked this prescription up." I explained that I had gone through my pill box at home and did not see those pills anywhere. She aggressively stated "I don't know what to tell you" but did offer to give me a 3 day supply so I can go back home and find them. I also let her know that with the last prescription I picked up (which was after she started), I was given twice as many pills as I was supposed to have. This was for prednisone so it is not a medicine you want to take too much of. I showed the pill case (with the pills in them) to my physical therapist and orthopedic doctor and both stated that I was given twice too many and not to take the extra pills. They also advised that I let the pharmacy know. I did just that and she stated "What do you want me to do about it- if you didn't take the extra pills then its no harm no foul." I tried to explain that there was a foul because my faith in this pharmacy was even more eroded so it makes it harder for me to take their words for things when it comes to whether a medicine was picked up or filled correctly. However, she cut me off and I never really got to explain myself. This pharmacist has terrible bedside manner and no one deserves to be treated this way. She may very well succeed in turning this place around logistically but you cannot speak to customers this way. I promptly came home and again attempted to transfer my prescriptions to Amazon pharmacy. Hopefully they will process my request this third attempt. I may need to talk to my doctors about calling new prescriptions in fresh to Amazon pharmacy. One thing I know is that I will never give any business to this place again. read more

Every month I have some kind of issue(s) with this pharmacy. Most recently i called in a medication and was told that it would take 2 days to fill. It ended up taking 4-5 days, I checked the website every day, and at one point it was even saying that I didn't have any medications on file at all. When I called to see what was going on I was told that the night pharmacist had called in sick so there was no one to even check my prescription status. I went in person the next day to see what was going on, in the middle of the day, and stood in line for 10 minutes with no pharmacy staff at the counter despite there being 5+ people in line. I could hear someone in the back doing something, and they just kept saying "just a minute" but no one ever came, so finally I gave up and left. I came back the next day and somehow all my medications had all been put back on the shelf, including the one that had just been filled like 2 days before, so I had to wait 40 minutes for them to be filled again. I've used many different Walgreens over the years and have never had to deal with issues like these, none of them have been anywhere close to this bad. Also, you better hope you don't have to call them about anything, because if you do then you can expect to hear the same 5-second loop of unbelievably annoying hold music OVER AND OVER. They give you the option to press * and disable the music, but then the music always turns back on anyway after 5 minutes or so, without the option to turn it off again. I don't know if that is supposed to discourage people from calling unless it's important or whatever else the exact reasoning is, but that is really the last straw for me, I will find another pharmacy that actually values its customers. read more

I went to fill out the survey that gets printed up at the bottom of the receipt however, I did not get to it in time therefore, I Yelp! I am writing about the Randolph Ave, St. Paul location; the Pharmacist on duty and in particular, the Manager on duty. I unfortunately cannot remember his name but I can tell you that he was filling in for someone that evening (Aug 10th, between 7 and 9pm) and he was A++. I came in with an unusual "request". I was working a local concert and one of the people on the tour sustained an injury in the prior city and needed a prescription for a blood thinner filled before they pulled out of town and on to the next city that evening. As we soon discovered, the prescription was already called into a CVS in the prior city so there was a "hold" on being able to get it filled. The Manager directed me to the local CVS so I could ask them to transfer the hold from the prior city and fill the 90 day prescription in St. Paul (being it was already in their system and approved by the insurance company.) It turns out CVS did not have enough of the pills to fill the entire prescription however, they released the hold so I was able to go back to the Randolph Ave. Walgreens and have it filled there. In that time, I witnessed the Manager rearrange employee roles/tasks to accommodate the influx of calls as well as the patrons coming in the store and arriving at the drive-thru. He greeted every single "waiter" with a smile and eye contact even if they were 3rd in line. Every customer had a seemingly tricky situation and one-by-one, I witnessed this Manager handle each person with respect and patience and kindness, all while the Pharmacist on duty (didn't get her name either), was working in absolute tandem. Service is great, no big problem there. The cashiers and managers are always upbeat and look to spark up friendly conversation. But my big issue with this place is their organization with sale pricing and [possible] faulty computer system. Numerous times I've had to point out the discounted/sale items to the cashier that weren't ringing up as said so on the sale slips throughout the store. This can be obviously frustrating to the customer that doesn't keep a close on transactions that are come up on the screen, walk out of the store, and then later notice they were mis-charged. My warning to all customers: PUT DOWN THAT CELL PHONE FOR ONE SEC WHILE THE CASHIER RINGS YOUR ITEMS UP. Even if you haven't purchased sale items, somehow this system seems to not keep up or (in the most recent case), the sale sticker was placed on a totally different item. Management! I am so done with this awful store. Last night about 10:30 pm I had to pick up a perscription. I was coming from having dinner and realized I had to go to the bathroom urgently, upon entering the store I asked the cashier if I could use the bathroom and she said NO, I was getting upset and said this is ridiculous, I'm here to pick up a prescription and have to use the bathroom NOW, then another employee started chiming in how they didn't have to let me use the bathroom, and that she would call the police!!! I did not have the time to argue with them and had to go, I ran out of the store into my car and tried to race home. I absolutley could not make it in time, I soiled myself while driving. Made an awful mess in my car and my clothes. I am so angry and embarrassed that I was humiliated in that store. This is not going to be my last word on this, I will seek out the manager of that store and any supervisor over them. I'm a 68 year old senior, that does not look like a homeless person and has been a customer there for at least 5 years. Another issue with trhis store is that they are so understaffed you have to wait inline every time I have gone in there, anywhere from 10-45 minutes. When Walgreens first build this huge monstrosity into the MacGroveland neighborhood (one block from my house), I was annoyed - it was an eyesore. And then I realized I used it at least once a week for small errands (e.g., forgot milk, need a RedBox, etc.). So, I ended up converting and appreciating the convenience of having it in the neighborhood! While I hardly use the pharmacy (and yes, it does take a while), I can say that the customer service is excellent - from the pharmacy to the front check out staff. Really kind people and always willing to help open up more lines to check out people more quickly. While there are long lines, there's great people watching in the process (especially on a weekend night). I had heard from one of the staff that they are the busiest Walgreens in Minnesota! So, if you're looking for a convenient place to pick up odds and ends, four stars. After al, it's a WALGREENS, folks! read more

They're pharmacy is always understaffed and overrun, pay your pharmacists more so you can have an actual working staff.

I would rather take a old pliers, rip my nails off one by one and then hot glue them back on than return to this location.

Nice location! I love that it's 24 hours, very convenient! The staff is very friendly in my experience. And the best thing about this location: paying is optional! I've witnessed numerous times where a group of lovely ladies pack their purses with beauty products and leave w/o paying! Alarms go off, but nobody says a thing. I think that's great! Every time I've been to this location the cashiers are horribly rude. Not a smile or a hello just gesturing towards your cart or basket with a dirty look. As a former cashier myself, I know the job can suck but part of the job description is putting on a nice face for the customer and being kind - I'd understand if they were being yelled at by customers to have this attitude but they have it towards everyone. I was at Walgreens on Snelling and Randolph in St. Paul Oct. 13 at 7am. A delivery person from Red Wing Express was making a big delivery to the pharmacy...and had no mask. I confronted him, he still refused to put one on. I contacted the Walgreens manager, as I am sure they do not want this kind of unsafe and unprofessional practice in their store. According to the Walgreens website: "Protecting our communities against Covid-19 is our top priority." I hope they take the necessary steps to rectify this. read more

I primarily use the pharmacy and need it regularly for eye drops. Consistently, the wait time on the phone is over 25 min. and the recording says there is only one caller ahead of me. Secondly, following the agreed upon pick-up time - my prescription is not ready. I end up waiting at the store while it's filled. Clearly, no one is paying attention to quality customer service. This location is convenient to my home and I like that I can walk there but it has to improve. I'll add that the staff are extremely helpful & friendly......but in my case, I need the pharmacy system to work effectively. read more
