It's an independently owned neighborhood pharmacy. That in and of itself is rare these days. They seem to know me already and I've just started getting occasional medication fills here. The pharmacists are accessible. They let you know when your meds are ready. The lines aren't insane. The improvement in the pharmacy experience over Walgreen's or CVS is so extreme it's hard to imagine they're the same type of business. It's small so don't expect to buy your groceries, but they have a surprising amount of medical supplies, etc. for a small place. read more

A cozy and complete old time pharmacy and one of the last independents around I'm sure. After I lost another mom and popper in Mpls I stretched some miles to try Corner Drug. I really want to buy some items like certain supplements from the smaller guys rather than on line or the mega stores. I don't think I paid anymore than about .80 cents more for the item than I would have at the giants. I was greeted upon entry, and then asked if I needed help which I did. A selection was pointed out and there was a brief explanation of the choices and Rx explanation of things like absorption rates. Of course we have always heard about the soda fountain and five cent coffee still available..even I can't remember coffee being five cents! I didn't have time for the coffee this trip but will try at another session as perhaps I should try to stop and smell the roses or coffee more often. read more

I have been here several times since I changed pharmacies. I wasn't sure at first the hours are short. The place is really small. I was worried about parking. ( Saint Clair and Snelling) The people seem so small town. I am glad I kept coming back. The hours are not a real problem, because if you have an emergency and need something filled after hours there is an emergency number. The small space is kinda cozy. The small town feel. Well it means they treat you like a friend. The pharmacists care, the staff care. They want to make sure you get the best treatment you can. The parking has not been an issue. Lots of street parking. Plus if you have time you can get an old-fashioned soda, or ice cream. Maybe next time. read more

Had another great experience at my favorite local pharmacy! This time I was there for a shingles vaccine. The nurse, Hildie, was very thorough, ensuring I knew what to expect and expertly administering the vaccine in the arm on the side I don't sleep on! She also took the time to look at my vaccination history, advised another vaccine that I'm overdue on, and assisted me in downloading the Docket app so I can easily view my vaccination records. I went for my last Covid booster and flu shot yesterday. John was the person giving the shots. After he had administered my Covid shot he proceeded to tell me that my flu shot would be $117. He then went on about what bad insurance I had, naming the company more than once. This was in front of 3 people having the shots as well. My name had been called out as well. Cute as can be! This place is what I like about neighborhood places. After Target couldn't fill my prescription because they didn't carry my item and after another RX took over 4 hours to fill I maybe switching to this place for good. Such a cluster at Target lately. Called St. Paul Corner Drug and they special ordered some items for me and signed me up for email notifications. This place consistently provides excellent services and I love it. 1. Meds are cheaper here. I don't know how, but one of my medications that's ~$170 at both CVS and Walgrens ended up being $26 here. It was a combination of the price being lower to start with, and then StPCD staff noticing that my stuff is less expensive when they run it for cash without insurance and telling me. I don't really understand how pricing works, at all, so -- I frequently ask for new meds to be called in at/transferred to multiple places so I can compare pricing. For the ~8 meds my doctor has done this with, I've never had a med that wasn't immediately cheaper at StPCD than at CVS & Walgreens. 2. Staff are helpful & welcoming When I started going here, I'd never managed my own health information before, and a couple people there talked with me about insurance stuff. I've sorta wanted to go to the more impersonal corporate places because some of the meds I pick up are relatively stigmatized psychiatric drugs. With the exception of one negative encounter (out of more than 50 visits, & relevant person is no longer there), everyone has been v chill, v polite. 3. Everything is reliable & on-time. I've never had any delay in getting my meds filled. Several times, I've showed up without calling ahead (...which I know is rude, I shouldn't have done that) and they've still gotten my prescriptions ready within twenty minutes. I've never had any problems transferring prescriptions. 4. Available supplements are quality. At a lot of common stores, there are supplement formulas that make no sense. Different nutrients that inhibit absorption of one another will be in the supplements. There'll be turmeric supplements without piperin even though your body barely absorbs any turmeric without it. I'm no expert, but I've never seen stuff like that here, and I appreciate it. tl;dr this place is great!! Check them out!! read more

So the service is great until they create an error on their end and make you out to be the problem when the issue is addressed. Upon talking to one of the girls on the other end she had a huge chip on her shoulder. So much so that my friend in the background was like woah what is her issue. I was upset because my card was charged double the amount in which the chick on the phone first tried saying delivery fees went up and that it was noted what I asked which she said was same day delivery. That's very frustrating when it was indeed the opposite of what I had asked. I understand errors happen but it was the whole mannerism of the conversation. I asked to speak to Robert who is the supervisor and he asked me what he can do to correct it. So I asked him if he is okay how i was treated and talked down on in which he said he never observed that. So literally they either had me on speaker so he could hear me on the other end of it (which would be against HIPAA REGULATIONS) or he simply just didn't care at all. He was very persistent she did nothing wrong. She even was so narcissist to flip the script and said I called her a liar when in fact she was calling me one because I said how it was noted it was wrong and she was also persistent what I said when placing my order originally and it was COMPLETELY WRONG. So again everything will be great unless they make an error and then act like you're a.huge inconvenience and not take your word at all "because of their notes " that were incorrect. I am a big partner with my community and I am middle eastern woman I strongly urge to stay away from this establishment because they do not care the tone they use towards you and do not care what the truth is as long as they have "notes" even when input incorrectly. Very disappointed this is what the world has come to. Some people should work in customer service and others it's so apparent lack total training and ethical standards when it comes to just admitting their wrong. She started out with "YOU ASKED AND TOLD THEM YOU WANTED SAME DAY" that in itself is very triggering when that is not what happened at all. So again tone was very condensing. By the way still haven't seen a reversal which they claimed on their end for over charging me double for same day delivery which again I never asked for. We will see what happens in few days with the money overcharged. Don't expect much to happen when the supervisor defends someone's actions of immoral conversation. read more

I just discovered this drug store and it is EXCELLENT. -They do home deliveries! -They have $0.10 cups of coffee at the coffee bar! -They have a fun, old-fashioned soda fountain! -Prescriptions are guaranteed to be ready in 5 minutes from drop off! And, most of all, when my medication was having a national supply shortage, and I could not find another pharmacy in Mpls/St. Paul who had it (I called over 10 pharmacies that day, and visited four others), this pharmacy was not affected by the shortage. They told me it was because they don't enter into exclusive agreements with any one supplier (like the big chain pharma's), so while they don't get the amazing bulk prices of the big chains like Target/CVS/Walgreens, they can work with different suppliers when one is being difficult. I'll have to update this later once I figure out if my meds were more expensive than I paid at Target, but the price was within reason. And, even if they were more expensive, to me it's worth knowing that the Pharmacy is not going to leave me high and dry if a supplier is unreliable. I am sold! read more

I am a big supporter of privately owned businesses such as this. I used to go to Bober's on Grand. I generally boycott large drug store chains. I like the personal touch, and the relationship the dr's tend to have with the pharmacists. If they don't have something, they don't hesitate to order it. Every new Rx he comes out and explains the directions. They have some cards, and gift items, but no magazines. It's not a one stop shop kind of place. You always see people gather at the counter for coffee, pop, or ice cream, or just a place to wait for a Rx to be filled. They deliver, too. read more

I like to support local businesses so I try to get my prescriptions filled here when I can. The tricky thing is their hours, what with not being open 24 hours and closed on Sundays, but I make an effort to get there because it is worth it. They are exceptionally friendly, come out and actually talk with you about your prescription and ask if you have questions and actually care. Walgreen's may be open 24-7, but you are definitely a number to them - not the case all Corner Drug. As mentioned they have a soda-pull, but I am not usually in a casual mode when I am there, so have not tried it, though it is busy enough when I am there that it must be good. read more

After hearing the rave reviews on the Current (89.3 fm radio station) about this place, I really wanted to try it for their soda fountain, ice cream, and old time atmosphere. My boyfriend and I walked in and the ice cream area was right up front by the door. They have wooden nickels you can buy to pay for ice cream which is really cute. The menu wasn't very big and we wanted to find out what the best to try was. We got two items that were kind of like a mix between floats and Italian sodas. One was a zandibar chocolate, chocolate flavored syruped treat which was so delicious and chocolatey. The second was a cookies and cream ice cream float with vanilla flavored syrup. These were so amazing and I want to go back there every day. The place had a cute feel to it, the girl behind the counter was very friendly, and the ice cream and soda treats are to die for. read more

I luuuuurrrrvvveee old-time drug stores...I channel Mary Poppins and start singing "Just a spoonful of sugar/makes the medicine go dooWWn" just seeing the soda fountain and the old tile and the shelves crammed with stuff. We didn't really need to interact with the pharmacist, as my shopping list consisted of ibuprofen and rubbing alcohol...but even those were cheerily packaged in SPCD bottles and priced decently. I love this place. I wish I lived closer. it would be the only pharmacy I would go to. it took very quick to fill my 4 prescriptions and when they gave me a consult they came out and talked to me in a chair because i had a herniated disc and it hurt to stand. there were adorable little old ladies sitting on stools in the front where they have an adorable small little malt shop. they serve ice cream and malts for very cheap and coffee for 5 cents! an amazing local shop with very friendly people. They also give huge servings of ice cream for what you pay for.other items might be a little more pricey than if you were to buy them at a big chain store but you are paying for the convenience if you live in the neighborhood. read more

I'd like to stay local but will have to switch to a pharmacy that stays open past 5 on Saturdays and that will offer at least some Sunday and holiday hours.
