Simply stated I had a surgery done on my elbow leaving a long stitched incision. To protect the wound I needed 6x6" adhesive pads for the easy way to keep it padded and clean. Went to Walgreens and found them for 9.99 for 3, only found one pack but bought them. Naturally I ran out in 3 days, checked back and still out. I did a few days with pads and ACE type adhesive bandage a pain in the neck. Checked again still out. Went to CVS to see what they had. Well, they had the same thing except it said CVS not Walgreens but had 5 pads for 9.99. 66% more product for the same money. Got home, opened one up and, yep, same product. Only 2/3 more of it for the same money. CVS got a new customer. I wondered why Walgreen was closing over 1000 stores. I have an idea now. Ron read more

A 20 minute wait time in a drive thru is annoying, but a 20 minute wait time for elderly and ill customers standing or uncomfortably sitting inside? This pharmacy simply cannot meet the demands of the community and is severely understaffed. The revolving-door of pharmacists (some of whom will openly stand in the back, on their phone--work related, sure) just adds to the instability of services. One pharmacist will constantly check the drive thru while he's processing orders instead of focusing on getting the line down. I don't blame the techs for the lack of professionalism. A 30 minute break working at this pharmacy is appalling. Please, get this store in order or do the responsible thing and shut it down. Pharmacy tech is soooo rude. She just mad doing her job this is not the first time either . Its always her, was on hold for ten minutes and then phone line started ringing again and she answered and told me please wait i have two customers ahead of you and two in the drive thru like its my fault. Been waiting for my prescription for a week and before the other pharmacist would let me know what facility does have them available and shes just mad saying noo i cant do that i have to call around. A sloppy Walgreens just inside the loop on San Pedro. This one is dirty- the floors are sticky, the merchandise just sorta looks shopworn, and there's an inordinate amount of the merchandise on anti-theft devices. The pharmacy line here moves slowly. Slowly. Slowly. Just go inside. They have a drive-thru, but it seems more effective to go wait inside. They offer flu shots here. Covid too. There's a little room that they take you in, however you can still hear the screaming kids that are adamant that they don't need inoculation. It always kinda creeps me out how whenever you enter a Walgreen's, someone on the staff is required to holler, "Welcome to Walgreen's!" What are you supposed to say, "Thanks- you too." When I was here, the pharmacist seemed to be dealing with a forged prescription for all these pain killers, and he was just trying to hold it together while the patient tried anything they could to get some pills. I received a text from Walgreens saying that it was time for my second COVID-19 shot. I went to the Walgreens on Thousand Oaks Blvd where I received my first shot (they were great). Upon arrival I was told they didn't have the Pfizer vaccine and was directed to the Walgreens at 6901 San Pedro Blvd ((Store #03224). Upon arrival it was almost like I was met with hostility. I advised them the store on Thousand Oaks Blvd sent me to them. They asked over and over again if I had an appointment and if the Walgreens on Thousand Oaks called to confirm they had the Pfizer vaccine. I said I didn't have an appointment and they didn't call. They refused to give me my second shot saying I needed an appointment. So I decided to make an appointment. I waited for a while while the rude girl in the pharmacy messed around on her keyboard only to be told it was too early to make an appointment. I said "I understand it is too early to get the vaccine, however I would like to make an appointment for two days from now." They refused to give me an appointment. It takes a While to get in and out of this lot, maybe it should be called Whilegreens. Cute little Walgreens in San Antonio on the North side which we've now stopped at twice. Once because I needed to brush my hair and a second time Barbie needed a little bit of something in the feminine department. It can be a little annoying getting in and out of and that's my main gripe with it. I don't have any problems with it per se and I will probably be back here again in future. Customer service in the pharmacy is terrible. I will be switching pharmacies. I've been with them for years and it's dropped off significantly. No sympathy, no effort to go beyond the basic requirements of customer service. They called me last week and told me they were going to shelve prescriptions that have been ready. They informed me of the names of each. I informed them I've been in the hospital since November and will get them when I got home the following week. I called today and the rep demanded I give her the names of each, which I could not recall. She said the computer deletes all information about the prescriptions once they re-shelve them. She had no sympathy to my hospitalization or struggle to find the names of the prescriptions. She told me to call back if I find empty bottles of prescriptions to see if those were the ones. When I asked what if someone tampers with my book bag or if I had a large purse would it also be held hostage I got a scripted response. Hello, is anyone paying attention, or really at work here??? It was a nice evening at 8:10 pm tonight 6/21/22 when strolled in to Walgreens at 6901 San Pedro. Then things quickly went downhill. First at the pharmacy, where the medium tall brunette close to the register was too busy talking shop to the pharmacist for like 10 minutes, before even turning around and finally noticing I was standing at the counter. Wasn't there a ringer bell at the counter before? Sure could have used it. Then on to grab some Diet Sprites and other stuff before heading to the front counter. No one there. Hmm. Another lady was also waiting with her things at counter. No one to be seen. Where is that darn ringer bell when you need it? Minutes passed. Finally spotted a short thin blonde girl standing with a heavyset African lady, both in Walgreens black pants, talking about two shelves length away. Finally, they started walking. Unfortunately they were walking toward the back of the store. WHAT?? NO explanation - no "We'll be right back folks."?? Makes one wonder - does anybody care about customer service or sales at this Walgreens? It would be one thing if they were actually busy doing some work, we would give some leeway. But instead they're just talking to each other and blissfully ignoring customers. Bad forms. And not the first time either. Only reason to go to this Walgreens is because it's the nearest one to us. Certainly NOT for the prices -at all. And certainly not to be ignored. Finally left the cart and stuff by register and walked off. CVS, only a few blocks down San Pedro, is looking mighty nice now. Service and probably sales here have been declining, maybe why so little staff at nights. Eventually it will be slow enough that this location will close. I've been a customer of the Pharmacy for years and each year, the customer service becomes less and less. Not only do they seem to have bankers hours now, apparently they also don't fill prescriptions over the weekend! Last week, i talked to someone in the pharmacy and was told my medication was not covered by my insurance. I called back the next day with Good RX coupon code, and the employee told me my new discounted amount due. I agreed to pay that cash price and was told they would call me in 2 days when it was ready in stock. No call from them. I call on the 3rd day and I'm told they have absolutely NO record of taking my info, therefore no medication was ordered. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was connected with the pharmacist, who had the most monotone voice I've ever heard. She never apologized for the mistake, never showed empathy and never offered a suggestion to resolve the issue. I hung up and wrote a complaint to Walgreens and not surprising I have yet to hear from them. I absolutely DO NOT recommend this Walgreen's location. read more

My father went to pick up a prescription for me that was already paid for online. I even have the code on my phone and can show proof it was charged to my account. Whoever was "helping" my father was not actually helping and I was in the phone the whole time listening to this... I understand they can't grab the phone, but they could at the very least touched the damn speaker button so I can answer the questions they were asking. My dad repeated the numbers I told him exactly. She kept saying invalid code but refused to get on the phone to check... it was the worst experience ever for my father and myself who did everything ahead of time in order to prevent any issues including already paying online. My father ended up paying again. Also, it does not matter if my father can't speak English, I am sure they could of got an employee in that pharmacy that did or simply touch the speaker button on my dads phone as I was on there the whole time. read more

I use this Walgreens for my prescriptions when I was working close by. The staff in the pharmacy are friendly and very efficient. I also like to stroll through the make up aisle when I have some time. Walgreens overall has some make up displays ahead of other stores. The prices are slightly higher, but you can always use coupons or your rewards to bring down the cost. The staff have excellent customer service and the store is clean. Great place to pick up quick items and avoid going to bigger stores. read more

I went through the drive they for Covid testing and i had TWO appointments 12, and 12:30 the rude pharmacist or tech said i could only do one if i didn't have insurance so i said fine let me do whichever I'm allowed and it's 12:09 she said i have to get back in the long line (after i waited 18 minutes in line to be on time for my original appointment ) and now I'm sitting again in the long line that will take 30 minutes making me late to my "next appointment when regardless i had an appointment at 12 reserved and the testing takes the same amount of time. While in line i called for a supervisor over the phone Lead Ana was no help at all she said there was nothing she can do, i asked for the GM she didn't know his name or info. What supervisor doesn't know their own boss or GM ? After waiting additional time in line now been sitting at the window with either An or Jessica the tech/pharmacist staring at me with a nasty face doing nothing and won't talk waiting an additional 8 minutes before she even would let me ask about my appointment, she was just standing at the window making me wait more time because i called to complain about her service. Finally a guy tech comes to assist me 17 minutes after waiting while the lady just stood there at the window making me wait on purpose for her own satisfaction. I showed them my email confirmations and there is now a line of 6 other cars waiting because she is retaliating for me calling to complain about her service. (The young guy tech was respectful and nice send him to a better location). UPDATE: it's been four hours and I haven't received my test results ( they quote 2 hrs) I called and they said this is the email and said it, i said no that's my name but not my email it had my full middle name and not just the initial .. so he said there is a way to change it, but he can't now that the results were sent but i can come in and get them. I l went back and looked at the email i used to set up my appointment and the email i provided, and then received a second email confirmation for the appointment- so i think that lady was so upset she complained she changed my email so i wouldn't get my results without wasting my time coming up there again ! Basic medications are consistently out-of-stock at this pharmacy, resulting in a protracted delay from the time a prescription is received until the time it is available for pickup. For example, of the last 4 prescriptions that have had sent to this pharmacy, 3 of them were unavailable for 4-5 days because the pharmacy fails to stock sufficient quantities of these drugs. Importantly, these are not rare or cutting-edge drugs; in contrast, all of these drugs are so well-established that they are on the WHO Model List of Essential Medicines. I never experienced this issue with the 24 hour CVS across the street and will be returning there for all future pharmacy needs. read more

There I am at midnight getting a prescription from an urgent care clinic. Btw the UC at the Nix will cease business soon, but the service from parking to intake and exam were marvelous. Walgreen's Pharmacist named Don Yang was thorough, patient and professional with me. Great customer service. The gentleman stocking shelves even asked if I needed help. Great customer service I usually tend to go afterwork around evening so mostly Amy is there to greet the customers and of course help with any questions she is very polite and professional. But just about any other worker who i happen to encounter when i don't go in evenings are very helpful as well always seem to know what they are doing and how to treat the customers. read more

OMG! This is a long, very descriptive BAD review of this PARTICULAR Walgreens. On the whole, I am a total fan of the chain. I am a regular patron of the Walgreens at West Ave. and Lockhill Selma where I am treated with respect. Unfortunately, my regular store did not have a new prescription medicine in stock. (I am quite ill and I do take some unusual medications that they stock for me as I have lupus, fibromyalgia and other assorted maladies.) The clerk at my store was kind enough to call a nearby store and find out they had a partial amount of the medication in stock (it comes in a box of 4 that lasts a month - my doctor wrote the prescription to last me for 10 weeks - that's 2 and 1/2 boxes). The San Pedro & Oblate store said they had 4 - one box - which would be a partial refill). That's better than none, so off I went to San Pedro. SIDE NOTE: Even though I am ill, I still manage to travel quite a bit via freeway. I want to see EVERYTHING! I've ordered prescriptions from Walgreens in McAllen, Albuquerque, Roswell, Santa Fe, Los Angeles, and Sacramento, just to name a few. It's rare (nonexistent in memory) to wait more than an hour, go inside, or have any issue at all. I discovered the massive confusion here after I pulled into the empty drive through line. Please! Get a towel and some Windex - the grime on the window makes you not want them to touch your meds! The sliding box was filthy, too. The clerk could not seem to find my correct account. She had an address for me that was 3 years old. So she updated it. She could find any other prescriptions in my account, and I have a dozen or so active. Then she needed my insurance card. Shouldn't this info already be in my account? She could barely hear me and I could hardly hear her. The other stores have a phone & speaker. I gave her the prescription, but since it is a written one, and I knew they could only do a partial fill of the first refill (since that's what they told the pharmacist at my regular store), I became concerned that she was updating an old, unused account and the prescription was being entered into a VOID, where it would never be found again. By my experience, every other Walgreens in the western U.S. has my current information. I asked her to call my main store - she acted like she didn't know how to use the phone and picked up the receiver, held it to her ear for a while, then said no one answered. Then she said my prescription would be ready in about 3-4 HOURS!! The whole time, her head was spinning as if it was on a swivel and she was unable to absorb instructions from me, or anyone else who was yelling at her. She did say things would move faster for me if I came inside and waited. Since this was a new written prescription, I decided I should go inside to straighten the situation out. It shouldn't take more than 30 minutes to grab a box off a shelf and slap a sticker on it. Once inside, I noticed the interior was filthy as well. Clerks did politely greet us when we walked in, but that's where the pleasantries ended. The place was a wreck. After getting all the way to the back, I waited in a long line while I watched the absolute confusion behind the counter. I checked the Walgreen's app with my account, and the new prescription did not show as being "in process" like it usually does. This was one more hint they had the wrong account. Pharmacy staff were so rude and ignorant - I wound up leaving with NO medication because they simply did not seem to understand words. Thankfully, I was able to get my paper prescription back from them. It was as if the staff was illiterate and pissed off at ME because they couldn't communicate. The pharmacy was so backed up and there were so many ignorant employees "working" behind the counter they were running in to each other and yelling across the area at each other and at customers who were waiting. I know pharmacies can get busy, and I understand that. Finally, when my turn came at the counter, I explained that I thought they added my new RX to an old account; I could not see the prescription in the Walgreens app as "in progress," which is how I usually know that the pharmacy is working on my order. "Why did you come up here acting like there's a problem when there's no problem?" the clerk asked me. I tried to explain. "I don't know nothin' about no app." She said, "wait 'till we done, then you can see if you got a problem." A while later, one pharmacy tech whispered to the other, and they both looked at me. "Come over here so we can talk about this?" When I approached the counter, they said some mumbo jumbo about insurance not covering what the doctor ordered. They said they had 4 boxes of the medicine! They made no sense in their attempt at an explanation, and treated me very rudely, implying I did not have money to pay for my meds. I left. Go to this pharmacy only if there is a zombie apocalypse and you need to steal medication. The staff is worthless. read more

This pharmacy has the worst customer service I've ever seen. Every time I call the phone rings and rings and rings and rings and no answer. Then finally when someone does answer it's a game of "oh let me transfer you to the pharmacy, oh let me transfer you to the pharmacy, let me transfer you to the pharmacy. Then when I go there in person there is no order there. People just come up and cut in line all willy-nilly. There's 10 people behind the counter and only one person dealing with people. No one is instructing people to form a line or "who was here first" sort of thing. Just awful slack-filled service. God forbid somebody would urgently need their medication from here asap. I have used this pharmacy for years but I have noticed a slow decline in the quality of service. From waiting on hold for almost 30 minutes only to be hung up just trying to get thru to the Pharmacy dept to false notifications of medicine being ready. The last straw was last night when I went thru the drive thru after being called thru an automatic messaging that my pre natal vitamins where ready and than being told that they had not even been orderded! The staff acted like it was no big deal never apoligized and just said that they could order it the next day. This was unacceptable to me and will never use or trust this pharmacy again. read more

Today, is the first time I visit this location and it was the worst experience ever! I generally go to CVS, but I thought I would give you all a try . . . boy was I wrong. I ordered a canvas picture ($70) for same day pick-up. When I went to pick-up the print an hour after it should have been ready . . . the print was NOT ready. The Assistant Manager (David) explained that they had tried to print it, but it just wasn't printing!! He said you are welcome to resend the picture. I asked well do you all have my number? The reply I received . . . as he walked away was, Yes, but we were still working on it. Mind you I saw the printer and there was a half printed page still sitting there (the image was warped). I said yes, but this should have been ready an hour ago a courtesy call would have been nice... Unfortunately, I needed the print for a special memorial service, which I will never have back and Walgreens... well David ruined this special moment for me and my loved ones. I can't believe that David had the gaul to call me later that evening stating that I was 'free' to resend the image ... really David! I don't need it anymore!!! You already ruined the memorial service, we don't get a re-do for your ignorance. The pharmacy staff is condescending and slow. I was told my prescription was ready for pick up, but still had to wait nearly 30 minutes until it was really ready. Also the pharmacy staff were rude and condescending; they claimed that my insurance was invalid (it's not), asked personal and unnecessary questions about my family situation, and I ended up having to pay for my medication out of pocket. I made the choice to use this pharmacy because of its convenient location, I will NOT be making that mistake again. read more

I pray to God the employees working midnight on Christmas Day are getting enough compensation to make up for the emotional hardship of being there right now like, holy cow. I'm a terrible rabbit mom that ran out of food on Christmas Day and if I didn't get anything tonight they would have to wait like almost 24 hours to eat because of my work schedule, so I ran to walgreens to pick up some Cheerios. I have never felt so bad for employees before.
