I'll preface this by pointing out that my concerns may be due to something outside of this particular store's control, but don't see another way to provide this feedback. I was in search of a 24 hour photo printing store, and had used Walgreens in the past for this so I looked up the nearest one online that was advertised as providing 24 hour photo services. I customized my print order online at around 10pm, selected this store since it was the only one in my area listed on the Walgreens website as having 24 hour photo service, and was pleased to see that the estimated pickup time was in under an hour (~10:45p). Drove over to pick up my order, and found that the photo area wasn't staffed. Asked the store manager for help (which to her credit she did offer after some persuasion), but she told me that their photo team leaves by 10pm, and that I would have to come back in the morning. Walgreens management: please either keep your website information current, or ensure that your stores are staffed accordingly to prevent frustrated customers from ending their business with you. I understand that brick and mortar stores are struggling to combat online stores, and services like same-day pickup should help. But, situations like these where you don't live up to expectations push customers further away. read more

I was glad when I found this place after I moved to San Leandro. I had stopped in at the Walgreen's in San Francisco at 3 am several times over the years. I is great to have one locally that is 24 hrs. If they weren't open, the only other place would be 7-11 to get munchies, smokes or kid's cough medicine at 4 am. The only reason I gave them 4 instead of 5 stars is the cashiers are in a time warp. When they are cashing you out they look over each item like they are amazed at the packaging. The finally locate the bar code and scan it, then move to your next item. read more

Since my last review about Walgreens I have moved my business to Rite Aid. Their (Walgreen's) communicating-with-the-customer skills have room for improvement. My last experience: I went in there expecting to be able to pick up my Rx and when I got there they told me they were still waiting for insurance approval. (The Rx had been called in three days before that.) It really threw a glitch in my day, as it was a very expensive drug and by then I had no choice but to pay for it out of my own pocket. One nice thing the manager did for me is she allowed me to buy just a week's worth instead of a whole month's, so I only had to spend about $70 instead of about $300. I am thankful for that. I am happier since moving to the Hayward Rite Aid (Hesperian/A St.). The staff there is much better with communication, they are more personable and their organizational skills seem to be above par. Walgreens' could take a lessor or two from them. One other thing I have noticed about all the Wallgreens pharmacies I have gone to over the years is the lines are almost always lonnng. Worst wait for a pharmacy EVER! They have a drive thru, so you think convenient right? Wrong! Average car takes 20 minutes. I just say outside their drive thru window for over 20 minutes. I actually called to see if someone was working the window and they were rude and hung up. Overall sit at the window 33 minutes. Just to DROP my prescription. If they didn't have my ID I would have left a long time ago. Ridiculous. read more

The parking lot is dangerous my car window was shattered right in front of the store one time last year . My homegirls car window was shatterd and purse stolen just this year right in front of the store ,and the last time i went to pick up my perscription walked up to my car while this unruly looking man was trying to lean on my car door and looked as if he was trying to break in . when i excused myself to get yo my car door. He Got defensive called me all sorts of terrible names and words trying to fight me with his possy surrounding him threatning to slap me . because i excused myself to get to my own car door. read more

This is hands down my favorite store. They always have what I'm looking for and I always walk out of there with at least 5 things I didn't need or think I need. I buy everything from things girls like to have to filling my prescriptions there. But this Walgreens is special because its super big and has lots of parking. Not to mention their open 24 hours. It really doesn't get much better than all that. read more

This Walgreens is awful! Do not go here for prescriptions. They have 0 Customer Service skills and are always out of the medications and no one follows up or orders them. Their phone system is a joke! 30 or more minutes on hold! and then hung up on many many times! Do not try to call, I have spent countless hours of my time on hold with no one answering or in a loop of endless holding and ringing. They will not follow up on prescriptions when out of stock and will give you the runaround, I also was told my Dr canceled my prescription and also that my insurance denied the refill all of which was not true and had to spend time talking with my insurance and my Dr. What a waste of time with this pharmacy. Also, shelves are very low on stock. The drive thru is a nightmare and you will wait a long time to pick up your meds. Sitting here waiting for my prescription for them to tell me it will 5 mins and to come inside wth when the last time I stood in line for 45 mins when pharmacy was asking for help and 3 managers standing around watching to see if the line is that serious which is sad. I don't why this Walgreens branch gets a lot of flack and negative reviews from fellow yelpers and customers alike. I got to know this branch when my sister got employed by this very branch and she worked here for the next 20 years. Now me and her go here to say hello and catch up with her former co-workers and they still remember her. I go here when our local Walgreens branch closes at 12:00 Midnight and this is still open. This place carries pretty much all the candies I crave for and it's on sale most of the time. They also carry beer and major booze if you happen to on a liquor run + all the munchies that you'll need.I have great memories going to Walgreens in general and even though Walgreens is a major corporation, I'll still support it. read more

The service in the pharmacy is less than desirable. No matter what time you call you will listen to a recording telling you that your call will be answered shortly (20 minutes of listening to this recording and still no one answers the phone is not good customer service). The lines are always long in the pharmacy, much improvement is needed read more

The only benefit this Walgreen's has is their 24 hour pharmacy; other than that, you're better off going to CVS across the street. The drive thru is a great idea unless you get a SLOOWW customer in front of you or a Walgreen's pharmacy tech attending the customers inside the store and the drive thru window. On the two occasions I've used the drive thru pharmacy to pick up a prescription. I know I would've picked up the medication a lot faster if I had gone inside. What prompted me to write a review was the terrible customer service I got from THREE employees during the same visit this afternoon. I've worked in retail before, so I know how it feels like to be at work on a nice Sunday afternoon and having to work -- but I never forgot I got paid for what I was supposed to do. "Employee" (is she really an employee if she isn't doing her job?) 1: I walk down an aisle and spot an employee walking a cart with products to put shelf away. I politely ask, "Excuse me ma'am, where can I find an eye patch"? She doesn't stop, continues to push her cart, and says "I don't know". As a Walgreen's employee you really couldn't direct me to the general direction of where you think I could find it? Are you really that eager to be done with doing 'go backs' that you couldn't even STOP, think for a second, and even say "I'm sorry, but I don't know"?! Whatever. Employee 2: I walk to the pharmacy and ask the pharmacy tech "Excuse me where can I find an eye patch?" He asked another tech (which I appreciate) and says "It's on this wall" (points to a wall directly to his left). I walk over and find multi-vitamins and laxatives. Are we talking about the same thing?! I go back and tell him that I found laxatives and multi vitamins but not an eye patch (And why does he hold in a chuckle when I said 'laxative'? Immature? Funny that he confused the area?) So he directs me to the first aid area. I walk over and couldn't find it. BUT here comes another pharmacy tech (employee 4) to save my sanity! She shows me that it's in the eye care area and not in the first aid area. Behold the eye patch AND it's on clearance! "Employee" 4: I get to the register to pay for the golden nugget (i.e. eye patch) and a bottle of juice with a coupon I found in the Walgreen's weekly ads. I tell and show the cashier the coupon I have for the juice, figuring it would help to tell her in the beginning. She scans the eye patch and rudely notifies me that the product is not on clearance and that it is $3.99. I'm surprised and explain that I found it on the shelf at that price. She tells me that if it was on clearance there would be a blue sticker with the original price and a clearance sticker showing the reduced price and it would always be exactly 50% (the patch was marked down to $1.50). I said that the price should be honored since I found it this way. FYI: there was a line forming due to her arguing with me. She decided to page the manager; she receives a call letting her know that the manager is on break. She then tells me that she can't sell me the eye patch. Really?! I found it mispriced! Employee 5 come over and asks why she paged the manager. She explains the situation and he tells her to override the price. (Side note: there were already four or five people behind me.) She then begins to disputes his decision with the bases of the blue tag and clearance and exactly half off pricing...! OMG can I just pay what it freaking says on the tag?! He directs her to ring me up at the marked price and she tells him that if there's an audit she doesn't want to be responsible for marking down a product that should be the full price since the transaction will have her employee number. Lady, get over it and do what the man says! He tells her not to worry about it, since the merchandise is only a few dollars less and not a $50 difference. She clearly wasn't happy but did what was told. (About time!) She does the price adjustment, scans the juice and I show her the coupon; she ignores the coupon and gives me a total. I give her the coupon and she says "Oh you havea coupon?" and she finally scans it. When she gives me the receipt and bags my two items, I courteously ask "Why did it take to so long to do a price adjustment if the eye patch was discounted with a sticker?" She gave me a blank look and couldn't give me an answer as I walked away. In all, it took FIVE employees for me to leave the store with an eye patch. Five, really? How f-ing ridiculous. ANNND when I got to my car, I gave the eye patch to my bf who just had eye surgery. What did he say? "This isn't going to work." I wanted to scream. read more

I wish I could give them zero stars. Their pharmacy is horrible!! I have pneumonia with two small children and a husband who is trying to do everything while I am sick. I had my prescription called in at 10am this morning and I called them 12 hours later to find out where it is. Oh we didn't get it. Oh wait, it's not covered. No one called me or called my Dr to get it changed. Good job idiots. Hope I don't end up in the hospital because of you . read more

The past two times I've been to this establishment, it was not pleasant at all! They most definitely lack in customer service. I was a daily customer up until a few days ago... I went in there the other night with a friend. We purchased our items and proceeded to walk out. The alarm went off for the person in front of me....so the security guard stops me!! He's a new guy...a short little black dude. He then rips the receipt out of my hand looks it over and asks me what I have??? I was so embarrassed and the lady who made the alarm go off is long gone. Horrible work flow and customer service! As a preggo I had to wait for an hour for a Rx that was cell filled which should of been verified and good to go in ten minutes. I know cause I've been pharm tech for years for several popular chains of pharmacy including Walgreens prior to my baby making days lol. Pharmacy staff seems incompetent and clueless as for communication goes in getting shit done in a timely manner. Waiters are people physically in the store and should be placed In a red tote but tossed with the rest of scripts for the day smh. Walgreens yall need to either train your staff to be equipped for high volume locations or hire more hands. read more

Every time I come here to pick up a prescription, there is a very long wait. No matter of there is one person in line or ten. This place just doesn't have it together. They either need more people working or people who know what they are doing. The managent should know that they have rush hours and should accomidate appropriatly. Even if you go through the drive thru, you take the chance of waiting at the window for five minutes before a clerk even comes to the window. Get a clue Walgreens!!!!! read more

First off, I'd like to say, that the idea of this place being open 24 Hours a day is awesome. Sadly, the way the establishment is run is not as admirable. Here's whats wrong: 1. Bad customer service/ Lazy employees I've worked in retail, and I know how difficult it can be behind the register. I feel though, that there is no excuse for lazy workers who don't seem to take their job seriously. No matter what the establishment is, workers should not work as if they are there only for a paycheck. I believe that Walgreens trains all their employees thoroughly, and especially those who work the cash registers. The service that I received on Christmas Day at 12:30 am on register 1 was despicable. I purchased a couple of gift cards, and the lazy cashier turned a simple process of purchasing the gift cards at the same time, into a long and embarrassing 2 transactions. She seemed as though she didn't know anything about what she was doing, and by the way everything looked, she'd been working there for quite some time. She ended up making a scene, and then trying to justify what she did. Fortunately for her, I had enough respect not to lose my mind on her, but I'm pretty sure some one else would've became extremely confrontational with her after what she did. All in all, that Christmas Day purchase was one the worst experiences I've ever had at any Walgreens in my entire lifetime. read more

Worst pharmacy ever I had shoulder surgery and they would not fill my prescription in a timely manner my wife dropped the prescription off at 8 p. M. By six the next morning it still was not filled the pharmacist told her to wait an hour she couldn't because she had to pick me up from my surgery when we got back to the pharmacy my prescription still was not ready standing in immense pain arguing with the pharmacist about why I decided to take my business elsewhere and never returned.... Came here after my surgery last night and my prescriptions were not ready and though my MD faced over the requests they wouldn't fill one because it was missing a DX code. This might seem like an oddball kinda props, but four stars to Walgreen's for having the best selection of condoms and for being the only place I've been able to find around here that has non-latex condoms. Actually it seems like I can always find most of the health/beauty product s I'm looking for here that I can't find anywhere else... like my favorite shade of $1.99 nail polish or non-alcohol witch hazel. Walgreen's is also my usual go-to place to get photos developed. They've never lost a roll, unlike Costco. One more bump to five stars for being 24 hours and having a bike rack in front of the store. read more

Walgreens Pharmacy is terrible. They will have you wait forever for pick up prescriptions. Overheard people arguing with Pharmacy Technicians about wrong addresses and not having medication ready on time. One of the Pharmacy Technician was extremely rude. He said my insurance is horrible and hopefully the new president takes it away! How can you tell a customer that! How unprofessional can you be ? He should get fired! Love that they have a 24 hour Walgreens by me. Little pricey but they have a lot of different things and convenient.

Thank God for this Walgreens!! The 24-hour drive in pharmacy has saved my life so many times. I work strange hours so I'm not always home and available during regular store hours, so it is so helpful to be able to pick up my prescriptions any time I want. And I'm always impressed by how happy everyone is, even if I come in extremely late in the evening. You would think they would all be grumpy and tired for having to work such later hours, but sure enough I'm always greeted with a smile. That's awesome customer service. read more

I feel like all Walgreens pharmacies really are hit and miss. This one continually misses, everytime. I recieved a call telling my to contact the pharmacist about my prescription. I was concerned so I called, after being on-hold for a half hour, listening to their terrible 28 second repeating message, they told me my prescription was ready. Really? I waste thirty minutes for that? Awesome. Picking up a prescription is sadistic, it's never easy, never quick. Enjoy the thirty to forty minutes it takes to get service. I get the same prescriptions once a month for the last 15 years, yay diabetes. Often they tell me to wait for the pharmacist, so they can go over my prescription. It's ridiculous. This place sucks. I really only go here because it's 24 hour and easy to work around my schedule. read more

I honestly only come here to refill my Clipper Card. Not all the cashiers have the access to refill the Clipper cards, only managers. So sometimes there's a slight wait if they're busy. Other than that, no complaints. Been going to this Walgreen's for years and some things never change. read more

Went over to Waltheater to buys some Blacks and found they got a huge selection of tobacco and tobacco related products inside some locked display shelving. So I asked the cashier for help and she said to push the button above the shelf . I pushed the "easy" button and and the automated pager made an announcement over the entire store that "assistance is needed at tobacco". Half a minute later a friendly sales lady opened the display case for me and I saw they had some with the wood tips - Cool! But even better I spotted some Mac Ascots sitting at the bottom shelf and ended up shilling $25 for a tin. I was finally in nicotine heaven! read more
