The pharmacy, at this location, is the worst! They are so overly paranoid when it comes to filling a Rx for any pain meds. Instead of using "common sense" or checking to see if a person has ever brought in bad Rx's, they want to take a few days, contact the dr.'s office that just wrote the Rx and ask them if they know what they are doing. I understand Walgreen's is being more careful, because the pharmacists were filling many Rx's, for pain meds, for the same person in the same month. Which is why the co. decided to have pharmacists use "professional judgement" when deciding to fill a Rx or contact the dr.'s office before filling Rx's - if there seems to be something "funny" going on. This Walgreen's doesn't have or doesn't use "professional judgement". Any pain med. Rx they receive - they freak out and want to call the dr.'s office and they do NOT CARE IF A CUSTOMER IS IN PAIN. All they care about is calling the dr.'s office, so they can fill out a little form showing they contacted the dr.'s office - to COVER THEIR BUTT. They are NOT FOLLOWING CO. POLICY CORRECTLY. They are forcing good people in pain out into the streets to purchase other drugs while the person waits for a pharmacist to fill out a form. To the pharmacists - you are NOT dr.'s - you are their to fill the Rx's. I have no problem with you following the co. policy, but that does require you to use "professional judgement" not acting like brain dead idiots. In case any of the pharmacists from 15500 Washington Ave. are read this and are confused about the company policy, here is the portion you are not following properly: Are Walgreen's pharmacists calling physicians on each and every prescription for a controlled substance? No. Under our policy, we encourage our pharmacists to exercise their professional judgment when they feel further information is needed in order to satisfy their corresponding responsibility to ensure that each prescription filled is for a legitimate medical purpose (21 C.F.R. 1306.04). Our pharmacists may call physician offices to obtain further information about a patient. Part of that process may include verifying diagnoses or treatment plans as part of the pharmacist's judgment. I left a review a year ago. I didn't think it was possible for this location to get worse, but it has. I've been given the wrong dosage of medication numerous times, they have lost my pain meds (my though my is to start checking the lazy idiots behind the counter.) There is ONE person at this pharmacy who is actually good and has a great attitude. The rest, slow & incompetent. I ended up in the hospital for IV antibiotics after it took them over 24 hours to fill a simple antibiotic medication after surgery! Working in the medical field, I understand some medications look alike but that's why it's even more important for them to check what they are doing. CVS might not be 24 hours, but at.least they know what they are doing, and I can get my prescription within 15 minutes, instead of 24 hours at Walgreens. read more

Went over to Waltheater to buys some Blacks and found they got a huge selection of tobacco and tobacco related products inside some locked display shelving. So I asked the cashier for help and she said to push the button above the shelf . I pushed the "easy" button and and the automated pager made an announcement over the entire store that "assistance is needed at tobacco". Half a minute later a friendly sales lady opened the display case for me and I saw they had some with the wood tips - Cool! But even better I spotted some Mac Ascots sitting at the bottom shelf and ended up shilling $25 for a tin. I was finally in nicotine heaven! read more

24 Hour Walgreens!! What more can I say. This is the only Walgreens in the San Le/Lo zip code that you can pick prints up at, when you use Walgreens.com, so while I might be a tad closer to the East 14th Walgreens, which closes like at 10/11, I am privy to this one, because it's bigger and open longer hours. Not to say it's better than the other one, because they're not really different, and I like the convenience of the East 14th one. But it is hard to resist bigger Walgreens. read more

Walgreens here is clean and open 24/7 which is must needed in case of emergencies. The pharmacy itself is quick and helpful specially recommending medication when sick. Prices are more on the high end but they always have everything stocked up so no hit and miss here on an item you need asap. read more

PHARMACY MANAGER read this, and all of the other reviews! During Flu season you need to have a minimum of 3 employees scheduled in case one calls out!!!!! There was only ONE worker tonight poor thing had to manage refills, huge customers lines in both drive thru and inside!!!! People are in need of medications in the middle of the night and this is the only 24hr Walgreens nearby. You have locals coming in from all of the hospitals nearby to pick up. Many like us have been in the emergency room already waiting hours to get serviced there then come here with a wait as well! And how is your employee even supposed to go on lunch break with no backup? Isn't that illegal? Hire more employees or if you have them schedule them! I wish I could give this place 0 stars. My son has a horrible infection, and I filled his prescription at this pharmacy. The first day my medical did not approve the medication his doctor prescribed, when I got there to pick it up (because i got a phone call it was ready) all the clerk could do was tell me that it was not approved. I told them they wasted my time, They did not contact the doctors office via fax to let them know the prescription was not approved. Day 2, my doctor prescribed another medication for my son, i got the call it was ready, i go down to pick it up, its a special medication they dont have it in stock come back tomorrow evening(again why the fu*k did i get a call it was ready). Day 3 I go to pick up the medication, oh I am so sorry someone forgot to put in the order yesterday. Please come back tomorrow. By this time i have had it with this place but i know my son needs the medication so i try and remain calm. This morning I return back and there was an as* hole guy named PAUL at the window, gave my sons name and asked for the medication, took him around 10 minutes to come back to tell me once again the prescription has not been filled and i need to come back after 8PM. are you kidding me? He said no come back tonight, next in line. I got no apology for the screw ups they have been causing over the last few days, as if he didnt care because it was not his medication. This walgreens pharmacy can kiss my as* from now on. I will be sending my prescriptions to CVS along with my business because CUSTOMER SERVICE is obviously something that lacks at this sh*t hole! read more

This is by far the WORST pharmacy i've ever had to deal with! if i could do no stars i would. I've been dealing with this for almost a year and half and after finally reaching my wits end with thier incompetency and stupidity i finally switched to another pharmacy (and of course Walgreens couldn't even do that right). I've never been out of there without having to wait at least 45 minutes or longer and that's with just a couple people in line. The drive through plan on bringing a meal because you'll wait forever. Ugh i can't express how much I dislike them! I will never even step foot in that store again!! read more

Will they ever have decent staffing in the Pharmacy department? I have used this location for years, and the wait is always long, and it's getting worse! Forget calling to talk to them on the phone unless you have 15-30 minutes to sit on hold. I'm guessing that it's a management issue, because at least the employees are friendly. It's hard not to feel sorry for them because they probably deal with irritated customers all day long. read more

ZERO stars!!! always never a one trip! picked up a prescription for my mom yesterday, 7/27/2017 pharmacists gave me a wrong medication inside the bag & the info attached to it but in the receipt it was the right one. what they gave me was the medication that my mom wasn't taking anymore which they were already informed. when i went back to pick up the right one, Rowena(pharmacist) is insisting on how it could have happened. if im sure it's the right one that i picked up. It was her fault the right medication was also there in the bins, she did not see it & did not double checked before giving it to me. She called the manager to give me points, manager asked her how many i even heard manager asking her if $10 is ok. when manager came back she said 5k ($5) pts. wow! very generous of you Rowena the pharmacist. with all the hassle, wasted time & gas! read more

Customer that was to be long front of us purchase something Paid And goddess merchandice and started to leave the change when down into the little machine there she looked up Adam they left she didn't say sir is your change but instead she asked the next customer can you please help me that change she took it and she put it in front of her off to the side... Wow I guess that's how she makes her extra money.... She needs to go to some type of personality school because she share sectors and of one I like coming to the store been going here for 40 years. The pharmacy was open after 10:00pm. They had to close 2of the 3 registers because a women had been standing at the counter and just urinated as she stood there. Took some time til it was cleaned up. Pharmacy girl said they didn't sell the decongestant tablets I had had filled in the Los Gatos Walgreens 2 weeks ago. Couldn't be bothered to look me up in their system. I can agree with most of the good ratings in the past reviews... Although, with many of the cashiers i seem to get quite a bad attitude.. my last experience included someone which i dont know if he is the manager or assistant but he is an older filipino man with glasses and because change is money too!! some times i have to pay with change. Big deal, get over it. Anyhow, this man mutters things under his breath while im counting 3 dollars in quarters... i would ask, what was that? then he would say oh oh nothing nothing... again this happened 5 more times until i was about to grab him by his smug little tie and teach him how to say what he was afraid to say... on the way out he says dont forget the receipt and i kindly said no thank you, then he firmly said " take it anyway". OK, i took it and dropped in right on the floor. I dont like rude people when i am spending money in their store. I am helping pay their wage. I dont like for people to hand me trash when i make it clear that i do not want it. I have a walgreens across from my house in castro valley. This branch of Walgreens only hires people of ages 21 and up. Even though they have positions like, greeter, or cosmetic sales, or photo sales. With that said, I think this Walgreens is ageist and because of that they don't have my best wishes. (Support employment of all ages) there are definitely more teens than 21 year olds and up in this neighborhood looking for work; this is especially true for a Walgreens job, or in other words, an Entry Level Work type of job. read more

Worst wait times to speak with the pharmacy staff over the phone. I typically use the app or online services as much as I can, but to call and ask a question about my dad's prescriptions is always a total nightmare. Standard wait time on the phone is 20 minutes and counting. read more

This is like 2 different stores in one. I have all my presciptions filled here, and shop here at least 3 times a month. It's convenient and close to home, open 24 hours. The pharmacy is a living nightmare. Understaffed, long waits and screw up my precriptions every month. They continue to give me some other guys script every month, same last name but spelled differently. This has been going on for the last 3 years. I almost have to argue with them that I'm not that guy, even though they put a flag on my name to check address and phone number. The only one who knows how to use the Walgreens card is the Manager, The others want to swipe it before the transaction, I have learned to handle that myself and swipe it after ring up and before paying. The pharmacy staff is rude, with the exception of one little Phillipino gal who is helpful and friendly, I wish I could remember her name, and the Manager. The store itself is great, well stocked, and good Management. The checkout people have always been well trained and friendly; always open a new lane when busy and know how to use the card, coupons etc. They should be training the pharmacy staff. Five stars for store. One star for pharmacy. Wish I could give it more, should really transfer my scripts so I could quit complaining. read more

When I walked in to pick up, I had to wait another whole hour again to even have them talk to me after telling us it would be ready in a few. Please find another pharmacy for your needs. The pharnacy is a NIGHTMARE. Like the other people mentioned they have literally hung up on me after waiitng on hold for 30 minutes. I had already waited 30 minutes to initially talk to someone who told me my prescription was not called in. My doctors office actually had called it in over an hour prior but were told to leave a message with the presciprion on their answering machine. They never checked the machine. So I call back and then I am hung up on by the very cheerful Jessie who thinks its apparently no big deal to be completely incompentant. I will NEVER go here again. Im on hold again going on another 30 minutes to get it transferred to another pharmacy. Worst customer service EVER. read more

This review is for the Pharmacy only. For 15 years I have been getting my meds at Walgreens at this facility. For the most part it has treated me fine but last night changed everything. I came in to drop off my prescription and was told that they didnt have two of my meds in stock nor would getting them really be an option. I was told that their shipments have been reduced to almost nothing on the two and that if I wanted to get the other one filled there I could but then I would be waiting a while (and she made it sound like that was a dream as well) and that I would be required to wait for the other two if they ever came in if I filled the one script there. I do not know what is going on at that place. For the last year things have not been going as smoothly no doubt. I wound up going to the pharmacy across the street and they were more then willing to help me out. I guess Walgreens only wants to be bothered to sell pet food and sodas, I don't know. I know this, I do not take anything exotic for my issues and that those meds are commonly available just about anywhere else. Thank you for the 15 years but I think I will be going across the street from here on out. read more
