What an uncomfortable experience I had with this lady. I don't think she like what she sees in the mirror the way she talked down on dark skin was shocking. My friend who has a lighter complexion was actually praised by Miss Germa. When my friend has questions about her skin problems Germa insisted her skin was a 10/10. I usually go to another salon for my brazilian wax, however she's closed on the dates that I can only go. I found Germa through groupon which was actually a good deal and she was barely 5 mi. away. The place was clean, it was easy to spot and I was able to use my good parking parking karma and found one, right in front! Score! She did a great job because it looks smooth down there now, like a baby, however during the waxing itself with the initial application of the wax, it was still stiff so it didn't feel like it went on smoothly and was extra uncomfortable. I didn't say anything because I knew what I came in for, it wasn't for comfort, for sure! She used different kind of wax on different areas, and sometimes it was too hot. She was meticulous though and tweezed some ingrown hairs. I did feel like I was rushed, which I really didn't mind that much. What I did mind though was when she answered the door and wasn't able to cover me. No one saw me, laying there in butterfly position, thank God but I felt exposed. Update: I've seen Germa 4 times and the last 2 times my skin lifted severely, leaving me with very painful burns. I've been waxing my face at different spots for nearly 6 years and while I've had lifting before due to my sensitive skin, it's never been as painful or extensive as it was recently. I was disappointed bc my first two sessions went well, but during the last two I felt my service was rushed and that is part of what led to my skin lifting. Germa did give me a balm and suggested I use Neosporin, however those did not help with treating my burns. I was also a bit annoyed bc I have thick side burns and she kept telling me not to shave them bc they'll get thicker, but I don't shave them at all so I don't understand why she kept making that remark. Overall, Germa is nice and seems educated, but I don't think I'll go back due to the sensitivity of my skin and the severe burns I got during back to back appointments. read more

Not a fan of Germa at all. At first I thought she was kind but as time went on I didn't have the best experience. It honestly felt like I was getting bullied during a Brazilian wax lol. It wasn't my first time getting one either, I just hadn't done it in a while. Nevertheless she didn't let me know when she was starting, she just went for it without warning. Also she took off large chunks of hair at a time, which hurt like hell so I started to sweat. And then she complained about my sweating as if I could help it. She didn't try at all to make me feel comfortable, she just kept telling me to calm down as if I was being unreasonable (I didn't scream at her or anything, just jerked a bit when she ripped the hair off). It was also my friends very first time getting a Brazilian wax and she had a terrible time. Additionally she left some spots hairy! And didn't ask me to go in many different positions, only one, maybe two. She never even asked if I wanted a design (as I mentioned she just started going), which I did because I typically get a landing strip. The lady I go to now is very considerate and says it could hurt clients when you pull a lot of hair off at once. She's right. She did give me tips on how to maintain the area however. read more

My husband found a gem in Love your skin by Germa. He has been going to Germa for a while getting massages and facials from her. This past Saturday our daughter turned 6 and he thought it would be a good idea to have Germa give the girls little bit of pampering. I spoke to Germa on Wednesday over the phone and set everything up for the party on Saturday evening when she left her shop which let me know that she was super flexible. Let me just say, I was not prepared for what I saw. Germa brought the spa to my house for my daughter's party. When I say she brought the spa I mean it, from the candles to the soft playing music. All of the girls came out of the room all giddy and excited as they have never experienced that before. Their little smiles told me that they enjoyed their first "spa" experiences. Of course my daughter being the Birthday girl got a bit more like a little foot massage but she had an awesome time and we have Germa to thank for that. I also found out that Germa has monthly specials and can do bridal showers etc. If for your wedding or even your little girls party you think about using a true PROFESSIONAL then I highly reccommend calling Germa. Making the decision to get a facial is much like the decision to go to the Dentist. Most people are too terrified and just avoid going. Been looking for a new facial specialist since my lady retired a couple of years ago. Bought Gemma's service through Groupon based on great reviews. Booked my spot through her site, got in, discussed my melasma problem & decided on getting the 4-layer facial... thinking it's an actual facial. Everything went well in the beginning. By the time she introduced the exfoliating scrub onto my skin, she scrubbed the sh!t out of my skin to presumably get rid of my visible melasma. I knew something was wrong, but I was deeply hoping she knew what the hell she was doing considering she's been in the business for a decade, so I stayed quiet and endured the painfully torturing scrub. After my session was complete, my cheeks were on fire like a 2nd degree burn! Went home & next morning my cheeks were swollen, red, and started pussing a little bit. I was so mad at this point, but I wanted to give it time to heal. It's been over half a year & I have SCARS, freaking scars reminding me of the horrendous experience. I don't know how she really gets 4.5 stars, but I hope she steps up her game if she continues to scar people who go in hoping to get beautiful skin! read more

Pros: Germa is professional and very friendly. Her studio is very clean and there is plenty of street parking around. She primarily does facials and recently took up waxing. Germa took her time to ensure that no stray hairs were left behind. For the most part, I was satisfied when I left. Cons: The reason for three stars is that the wax was a tad too hot. I mentioned this during the session but suppose it could not be remedied at that point short of rescheduling. This resulted in a scab around my right brow and a peeling bikini area a couple of days later. Germa pointed out the brow issue during the session and suggested it may be due to thin skin caused by medication. I'm not on any medication and the brow burn only happened to me in the past when the wax was too hot. I've never had a peeling bikini area in the 3 years that I've been getting waxed so I have no other frame of reference. The scabs on my brow peeled off ok (yay!) and the bikini skin peeling encouraged exfoliation. All the other reviews are excellent so it must have been an off night and I suppose all is well that ends well. read more

Germa is a combination of great personality, professionalism, and knowledge. And, most importantly, she has perfect skin. Seriously. And I love that she shares that knowledge and gives helpful tips along the way. During my visit, she asked questions about my habits, water intake, skin regimen, skin issues and concerns. Me being a single mom, sometimes a sitter may flake, Germa has always been understanding and as long as advance notice is given she is really flexible on rescheduling. I Found Germa On Groupon about 3 Months Ago And decided to get my FIRST Brazilian Wax. The Shop is Pretty Easy To Find but Of Course I got Lost . I Called Germa And She Seen Me Across the street and directed me to Her . Of course on my way Across the street I Tripped Over (I still don't know what till this Day) but she Didn't make it Awkward or Embarrassing for me. We got straight to business, I had to fill out a small paper and right after Went In to get worked on. I love how Germa was being sweet, making conversation as she put the wax on , and then BOOM ripped off a strip . When I tell y'all I screamed so loud I didn't know what to expect with this being my FIRST WAX EVER.
