I drive across town just to come here. That's how much I trust them. Professional, clean, and quick. Love this place.

They are definitely not a big name store- they want to keep business, unlike chains who don't care about customer retention. Lupe's has all your standard pharmacy products and then some, including perfumed soaps, Burt's Bees, and even some Fairfield memorabilia. If you can't find what you're looking for, just ask and they can probably order it for you. If you have questions about your prescription, you can always ask one of the pharmacists, or speak with someone over the phone. They're one of the few family-owned businesses that has survived the chain brand explosion, because you can't get Lupe's service anywhere else.

I went there once in the early evening because CVS didn't have the medication in stock. I don't always use Lupes, but they have all my info etc. anyway, after abt 10 min the pharmacist came to me (with an attitude ) and said he won't fill it because I don't use them frequently enough (or something like that) I was shocked to say the least and said "you're really not going to fill this?" He made me feel like a criminal or something, it was very awkward. Needless to say, I never returned and NEVER WILL! # treatpeoplewithrespect!

Idk if Madison pharmacy had charged my insurance for meds that they had not given me but I did go back to Madison pharmacy and made sure they gave me the meds they owed me. I've only heard wonderful things about this pharmacy from my community. I always hear that they're…read moreable to get medications in stock when other pharmacies are backordered. Unfortunately, I have did not have good experience here. One of the prescriptions that I usually get at my regular pharmacy was not available. I called Madison for assistance to see if they could get the medication. I was quoted a ridiculously high cost for this medication - a medication that is approved through my insurance for a $5 copay. The pharmacist told me that he would be able to get the medicine, BUT that it would cost me hundreds of dollars! This doesn't make any sense when it's a very low co-pay for me at any other pharmacy. He could not actually explain why the medicine was not covered at the regular $5 co-pay at Madison. All he kept saying is that the medication is expensive. Yes - it's expensive when you don't have insurance. But I have insurance and the medication is covered under it. This is quite alarming to me. I confirmed with my insurance company that I should be able to pick up the medication at Madison for $5. They confirmed this and even called the pharmacist to try to understand why they were quoting me hundreds of dollars. We thought maybe there was something that we were not understanding. When my insurance representative got back on the phone with me, he said that the pharmacist was claiming that he now suddenly could not get the medication (after he told me minutes before that he could). My insurance representative also said that the pharmacist seemed bothered and annoyed by the call, and tried to rush him off the phone - and also would not explain to him why their pricing was hundreds of dollars when it should've been meeting the insurance co-pay of $5. Something seems incredibly shady. For this reason, if you're able to get your prescription covered, I'm sure you'll enjoy the benefits that everybody talks about at this local pharmacy. But if you encounter something like what I encountered - beware. And call your prescription insurance company for cost verification before desperately handing over hundreds of dollars you don't have to. I hate to wonder, but In my opinion, it almost seems as though Madison was trying to price gauge (knowing the medication was unable to be obtained at my regular pharmacy) for their own benefit. Once they realized I was not willing to pay that ridiculous price, their tone suddenly changed, and then the medicine was suddenly no longer available to them. Something doesn't add up. I should add - in the past, I have had this same prescription filled at Madison a few times and never encountered this problem. And my insurance has not changed.

My experience at this store is in dealing with the pharmacy and specifically the pharmacist, Mike…read more I was in CT visiting family and had brought a medication I had to take daily, at the same time each day. When it was 7:30pm and I went to take my medication - (the medication switched to a new one as I became closer to delivery in my pregnancy and it was an injection), I realized the new medication was labeled and boxed as a "pre-loaded syringe" but was missing the needle to subcutaneously inject. After multiple calls to my doctor, my family realized this Walgreens location was one of the only pharmacies open late. My doctor hadn't realized a separate order was needed for the actual needles and then was with patients. It was nearing 9:15pm at this point, the pharmacy was closing at 10pm, and had multiple people in line and was working on a number of additional orders. In the midst of it all, Mike was happy to help. He reassured that he had needles in stock once the doctor called it in, walked us through the different size options, tried calling the doctor himself, and compared everything to the prior injection I'd been on. In reaching the doctor, we realized I could stay on the prior medication I'd been on for another night or two (not an easy medication to find itself), and Mike had it, and immediately prepared it for us. Earlier in the evening, my doctor said it was probably okay to go one night without the medication, but admitted when we spoke to her at the pharmacy that actually she was nervous telling us that. Given those comments and all of this being new territory with a new medication, Mike was so calm, reassuring, competent, and helpful. While it used to be protocol to counsel a patient on a new medication, that does not happen at my local Walgreens anymore. Mike went above and beyond the call of doing this.
