If you forget something like shaving cream, it's the spot to go. There is a Walgreens across the street, and they didn't have nearly as many items as this location did. They also have tons of souvenirs in the front of the store, and they are reasonably priced. Other reviews have complaints about the pharmacy section, but I didn't utilize it so I can not say. This morning I tried to work through Walgreen's phone bot to find out the status of a prescription…read more After getting bogged down in the glitch-filled bot, I managed to get transferred to a human, who confirmed to me that my Rx had not been filled. This contradicted the message I got on their web app four days ago telling me that the Rx would be ready yesterday at noon. I asked why that would occur and the assistant accused me of being rude. This tack was also attempted by the pharmacist to whom I was transferred after a 5-minute hold. All I wanted was an acknowledgment that they had made a mistake and an apology. No such luck. The pharmacist, Tom (who refused to supply his last name) told me that he had called my doctor's office and gotten my Rx canceled. He explained that this was standard procedure with 'out of control' customers requesting a controlled substance. Nevermind the fact that I have not used this medication in over two years. I would be more forgiving if this were the first screw up by this pharmacy. It is, however, the SIXTH time I was given the information that a prescription was ready only to find out that it wasn't. Save your time. Avoid frustration. Stay away from Walgreen's, a company that can't take criticism.

I was able to have my Mayo Clinic doctors were able to transfer my prescriptions from Jacksonville to St Augustine without a glitch. I was able to take a deep breath knowing this. I have been making extra trips to get my medication in Jacksonville, because I thought it would be complex due to my type of medication, but I truly believe this was also because I was so used to my CVS team in JAX. Now, I have met new friends at this CVS location and I am looking forward to the continued support of the excellent staff that CVS offers in their stores. Even better, when I brought them up to the register to pay, the person working there took off all the tags for me, they shined them up and took off all the finger prints, and they threw away my old glasses.
