Many of the other Walmart staples (clothes, home, pharmacy, personal items). Popped in to pick up sewing supplies while spending a week here in Steamboat. This store was clean although a little crowded with merchandise, probably because it's small. For COVID precautions they seem to be doing good. Masks required (by county). All staff elevating masks. Aisles were indicated one way. For the most part people were respecting one another's personal space.

The scripts were not ready when they re-opened at 1:30. Then, I learned they had only filled 2 of the 4 scripts sent in. The reason is that apparently this pharmacy will not fill "OTC" prescriptions sent directly from the local ER or Urgent Care. As an out-of-state visitor, I wasn't sure if this was a typical practice in Colorado - my local CVS fills anything my doc sends over, including aspirin, ibuprofen and digestive aids - and so I asked about it. The pharmacists seemed offended by the question and told me to go find the items in the over the counter sections. As a person 12 hours out of an unplanned surgery, I expected to pick up the items in one swoop and return to rest. This pharmacy seems to prioritize profit over care. My friends who live locally recommend the pharmacy downtown instead.

I was beginning to think that we'd be spending the day in urgent care but stopped by the pharmacy to see if they could recommend anything over the counter as a last resort. The pharmacist was knowledgeable, kind, and extremely helpful. She recommended children's motion sickness medicine and then had her assistant walk me through the store to find the right kind for my daughter's age. It literally saved the day. The Dramamine knocked back the nausea and allowed my little one to sleep for most of the trip, and kept us out of Urgent Care until we could get home to see her regular doctor. The kind, practical advice and amazing customer service was exactly what we needed on a long, exhausting day.
