This store is a mess. The local store management changed a couple years ago and it's been a disaster ever since. Meats are often near expiration (make sure to check!), stock is iffy as there's unshelved stock everywhere it seems, and employees are often unhappy. The store itself is in disrepair as well as it's not been kept up and is in bad need of maintenance and remodel. There are some ok Natural Grocers stores but this is not one of them. read more

I'm obsessed with NG and was excited to see one in steamboat. I just popped in for water, but got sucked in and got alter eco chocolate (dark chocolate sea salt is so good), kombucha and handmade scrunchies that are so soft! There is nothing natural about this grocery store as it sells creatine to high school and college athletes. Most of the foods in this store have industrial additives and preservatives that are known endocrine disrupters. 99% of the food in this store would not be permitted for sale or consumption in Europe. I feel sorry that the people living in Steamboat do not have access to healthy and safe food. read more

Wow! Something terrible is happening there. I overheard an obese female employee in the vitamins section saying that she wants to fire all of the employees that have been working there before her. She clearly has zero knowledge of nutrition or supplements. The place used to have really good vibes and positive upbeat employees now it is probably the most depressing store to walk into in Steamboat. Many new employees that have zero clue about the supplements or products that they sell. The shelves look worse than in the middle of the pandemic. I assume that this publicly traded company is more worried about reducing payroll expenses than good customer service with knowledgeable employees who are passionate about what they do. If you trade stocks I would be shorting this company its about to collapse. People looking for organic groceries in this town should just shop online or check out the community agricultural alliance for local products. read more

We stumbled upon this store while in downtown Steamboat. I was happy to see they had a quick grab and go option for a quick healthy lunch. We grabbed two salads and two sandwiches. I noticed there were out of forks so I asked the very unfriendly cashier if I could get some forks for the salad. She told me they were in the community area. I asked her where that was and went to find forks. The community area was also out of forks. There was an employee there (probably on break). I said, "Sorry to interrupt you but do you know where we can find more forks?" She pointed to her mouth and then waited an obscene amount of time of time then told me they were by the grab and go. I mentioned there were non and I was told to come there. She then said very snotty "well I guess we are out". It was pretty rude and awful customer service. I typically don't write bad reviews but was shocked to have service like this at an organic market. read more

They actually have a person checking for mask at the door, so that seems a bit extreme, but I get it. They don't have a large selection of ice cream, but what they do have is yummy. There is dairy free ice cream as well as the standard types of ice cream. The staff is friendly and the store is kept clean, so if you need to do some grocery shopping while in town then stop on by here. read more

Just a superb establishment and staff all of the time. The manager, Sean, is a pleasure to be around and incredibly helpful. I worked for this specific store back in the day but I remain bias. Parking can be tight but it's got a decent selection of organic and natural foods. There's also an excellent selection of dairy free ice creams and chocolates. It's also probably one of the few places in town where you might be able to find ethnic foods and ingredients. read more

I've been here twice and really like the variety and choices here. If you're looking for any named diet type food. It's here. I would compare this to a smaller low key Whole Foods. Yes you're paying a price. But the quality is definitely there. Bring your own bags or opt out to carry your things. The hours are great too. Will come back for sure read more

This opened in Sep 2012, a new branch of an organic grocery. Has a nice selection of vegetables and lots of nice brands for everything else. The meat selection is mostly pre-packed or frozen things, which is fine. Big selection of bulk products. In many ways, for what it is, this is much nicer than a Whole Foods (it lacks the fesitval of the whole foods, with the prepared foods, etc.) If I had discovered this at the beginning of our trip, I would have shopped here for all of our groceries for the trip. (Note that there used to be another local organic grocery next door and this space was a furniture shop. Both are gone, sadly the deli and soups that the local place sold are no longer available.) One hassle with this place is that they don't offer bags for groceries - they will help you reuse a box to take your groceries out. That's fine if I were driving here but I stopped by while walking from the hot springs. read more

I love this store. Having organic products so easily available downtown is such a bonus to the town. I don't know how I by before we had this wonderful store. Great selection of products that are reasonably priced as well. Most of the staff is great. The manager reminds me of a friendly Amish farmer bringing me a basket of fresh organic fruit and vegetables straight from the harvest. We should all appreciate that they are environmentally responsible by not using plastic bags that end up in the ocean or other places we don't want them so don't whine like Port D and whether you are walking or not bring your own or they sell reusable bags that are very, very reasonably priced as well.
