As far as Walmart goes, this one is pretty good. Technically a Super Walmart, it's on the small size. They carry food but nothing fresh, only refrigerated or frozen, and non perishables. Many of the other Walmart staples (clothes, home, pharmacy, personal items). Popped in to pick up sewing supplies while spending a week here in Steamboat. This store was clean although a little crowded with merchandise, probably because it's small. For COVID precautions they seem to be doing good. Masks required (by county). All staff elevating masks. Aisles were indicated one way. For the most part people were respecting one another's personal space. read more

The electronics that they sell, even though brand name are utter CRAP I bought a Bissell vacuum and they wouldn't take it back. It is now just a glorified hand vac and the vacuum stick portion to only serves as a charger the fact that they wouldn't take it back even though I have the credit card that I used proves that this is just a racket and they don't mind selling inferior products even if it means losing somebody's business I was going to purchase quite a bit more electronics, but I refuse to do that now read more

Yeah, Walmart!!! We went here literally everyday we stayed! Although it was a very small Walmart, they still stocked the essentials and did not disappoint! Steamboat Springs is primarily known as a ski town but has grown in popularity that it can also be very busy during the summer time as well. The town itself is very pretty, situated in the Yampa Valley with mountains on all sides. The residents and the city government know this to and make sure it stays that way. That is well and good but part of these kinds of upholdings also mean that laws need to be passed to preserve the city and all of its prettiness. One of these laws is that Steamboat has a law that no big box retailers are allowed to set up shop here. Walmart and a few other large companies somehow managed to squeak by opening very small stores in Steamboat. As a result this Walmart seems to be the Walmarts of yesteryear where they had a small grocery section and were not open 24 hours a day. The store is very small and selection is not what it should be since this is really the only department store retailer in town. If I were you I would only go here out of absolute necessity. The 'neighboring' town of Craig(about 40 miles away on valley roads) has a very nice Supercenter and is stocked better and not as much of a hassle as it is to shop at this store only to find what you are looking for is not there. read more

This Walmart is TINY! I forgot a few essentials, bathing suit, sunglasses, etc and we needed to stop for some snacks before hitting the lake. The clothing section is tiny, it's about the quarter of the size of a normal clothing section in a Walmart. There isn't a fresh produce section so no apples or bananas for us and everything is in a refrigerated freezer so it's a little bit hard to find what you need. I did notice that they sold alcohol, but the entire store is just so small that i'd rather make several trips to other stores. I thought that with the tourism industry we would be able to find everything that we needed, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. I'd skip this Walmart and go to Safeway right across the street. read more

Visited in December 2017! This is a small Market Walmart with a small selection of practically everything. This location was extremely close to the Cabin we rented, along with the the City Market and liquor store. The Sales Associates were very friendly and very helpful while looking for wool socks. I even invited them to our Cabin to eat Mexican food and Margaritas, I know very dangerous! If I am every vacationing in Steambooat Springs, again i will definitely visit this Walmart. read more

Wow, I am surprised at some of these comments. Having been a property owner since 1986, I have seen a lot of changes in Steamboat and while there was controversy when Walmart first came to town, I am glad we have a Walmart! Steamboat will always have a smaller Walmart, because that was part of the (city) deal when they were allowed to come - the size limitation is the only thing that precludes if from "Woo hoo - as good as it gets!" After all, we are talking Walmart and not Neiman Marcus! Seriously, if you have an issue, talk to the store manager, Carrie, who has been there for over two years - she cares and is working very hard to make the store a good one. If you want something special to be stocked, she will try and get it. But also, be fair - we all have our limitations and remember, the employees that work there live and eat in Routt/Moffat county too! read more

I have been very disappointed in the Walmart garden center-in Craig. I Have tried multiple times to reach someone by phone with question no one answers the phone . When I ask for the department manager I'm put on hold with no answer. When I'm in the store I still can not receive any help. Very frustrated, have been going to Steamboat or Ace because they seem to have people that are helpful. Hopefully my review has an impact, it would be more convenient due to where I live. read more

Huge craft section! They made it easy for me to pick up the random things I needed to entertain my friend on bedrest. When you're an out of towner, like me, sometimes you need somewhere like walmart to find everything. I found customer service friendly, and site to store pickup very easy. read more

The new remodel is great- store is clean and has a great variety of products! Carrie and staff are super friendly.

Wal-Mart comes in handy here for basic supplies. As expected, prices are extremely low here. Boots were only $12! The selection wasn't very broad though, but I guess you can't expect much from this location. read more

I take my kids' school pictures myself, that way I know that I am getting good pictures. This year my son is a senior so I took multiple rolls of pictures for a range of variety. When I got them back, after they were developed, they were all grainy and blurry. The negatives were not returned because for some reason, you keep them. All in all, I had 4 rolls of film ruined. Besides that, I hate going to this Wal-Mart and I live here. They never have anything that you are looking for and the staff is usually rude or no where to be found. I would rather drive to Avon then deal with the Wal-Mart here. read more

My partner transferred money with this Walmart. He lost his receipt with the confirmation number for the recipient to receive the cash. Totally his fault for not keeping track of it. However, when we went to Walmart to figure out how to find the code, the women at the counter was incredibly rude and dismissive. She told him to call Moneygram. He called MoneyGram multiple times, and they could not find him anywhere in the system. He called Walmart back, and the same women he worked with before hung up on him multiple times! We spoke to the store manager the next day, and she claimed she'd call us back after investigating the situation. Two weeks later I come back to Walmart and speak with the Assistant Store Manager. She had now idea about the incident or how to help. They claimed they had no way to retrieve the code for us. A very helpful Manager, named Daniel, told us MoneyGram was only for transferring out of the country. He called the correct company, and got the code back within 5min. He was professional, intelligent, kind, and helpful! Even before this event I have never had a good experiences with any of the Walmart workers at this store. Daniel seems to be the only competent employee they have. He deserves recognition and a raise! read more

One of the worst walmarts I have ever seen. They suck horribly. Things most walmarts have, basic needs like back to school supplies do not exist here. It is too skewed toward the tourists and sucks for the locals. And to think how many small box stores went out of business, or never opened because of walmart. I used to spend a lot here. More than enough for a few ppls paychecks.., not anymore after I recently tried to return some gunpowder. Not that I wasn't allowed to return it. I understand it's busy there and when I asked upon purchase an employee might give me the wrong answer that I could return it. It's that customer service rep that barks at me asking where I bought it after I hand him the receipt and he scans it. It's also the manager that was standing right there not giving a care about my customer service experience . I'll be happy to spend my money elsewhere that cares about its customers instead of treating them like a criminal because you had a lack of customer service to begin with when I initially purchased the item and now I'm stuck with a product I cannot use . read more

I moved here from a town with s larger super Walmart. I am sadly disappointed with this Walmart. I understand it is a smaller store but when you don't have Fourth of July decorations then something is seriously wrong with your store. They had a handful of shirts and a few flags that sold out pretty fast. I recently went to the avon,co store and they had two isles full of things to decorate with. Is this store anti American? They say they don't have room, ok use the isle with all of the overflow tents and yard games that are in the wrong area anyway. I will avoid this store at all cost. read more
