This is the worst pharmacy I have ever seen…read more I was prescribed antibiotics for a bad infection and I used to use Walgreens however my new insurance doesn't work with them, so I have tried now for two days to get them to switch it to CVS. CVS has reached out to them multiple times in front of me and faxed them to no avail. I have went in person to talk to these people at Walgreens and they will not transfer it stating they have 3 days to do it. I am in extreme pain and I need these antibiotics. They have been extremely rude and inconsiderate, especially the white lady with blonde hair and the lady with purple/pink hair. I have used Walgreens for decades to be treated like this is very unsettling I will never use them again.

I ask for her name and she refuses to give it to me, I also asked for the managers name which she also refused me. I asked again and she said this is a waste of time and hung up. I called back to let her know I am not going to let her get away with talking to people that way and I would be reaching out to a manager or corporate about the situation. She got really angry and told me there are never managers on Sunday, I asked why she would have said the manager was busy. She said that she was the manager and she was the one locking up the doors that night, like she wanted me to come meet her after work to fight or something. I'm not really sure. Mattice was the epitome of the kind of small business that Yelp was allegedly built to support. As the only Black owned beauty supply store in Tacoma that was built with black women in mind (but like Mattice always said, was never exclusively for Black women- other folks need soap and shampoo and hair brushes too right?), Mattice Beauty Supply offered a variety of products without compromising on her integrity. You would never find anyyyy skin bleaching products there. If you were buying developer she was absolutely not letting you leave til you told her what you were going to do to your hair with it so she could make sure you weren't leaving with the wrong one and going to fry your hair. She and her employee Dorian always went above and beyond to help anyone who walked in that front door. She offered the community so much more than a beauty supply store- her community room hosted the widest variety of classes I have ever seen- from art to crochet to hair braiding, home repairs, cooking and letter writing to the incarcerated, she was there to support all sorts of community members in their small businesses. In the year since I first went to the store, Mattice has donated thousands towards kids and other local businesses and even those abroad. The store will likely be closing with her passing, but it will be open on Small Business Saturday (11/29/25) and if you have ever wanted a wig that didn't suck, this is the place to go. I currently own 11 of them from here, so I can vouch for the quality of all of them. If you are a Tacoma local, chances are some of your favorite local businesses are there in part because of Mattice's unwavering support for others. Thank you to the community business that unlike so many others never once used community as just a buzz word.

Dr. Burnett fixed me up, and I was so pleased when I left that I even went back two weeks later for a cleaning... and then two weeks after that for a filling (oops.) Dr. Burnett and his hygienists are really good at what they do, and they actually care about their patients, and about wanting them to want to come back to take care of their teeth. I didn't get any lectures, just straightforward advice on what I should be doing, and why. When I went in for a filling, they let me bring in my iPod and offered nitrous oxide if I was anxious or uncomfortable. (I was.) It was the least traumatic experience I've ever had with needles and drills in my mouth.
