Pharmacy people are just awful, say one thing on the phone then when I get there to pick up RX it's not in yet! The worst pharmacy ever!

My wife broke her hand and was prescribed pain medication, the store accepted the prescription, even though they didn't have it in stock, and didn't notify us that it was not in stock.This began last night, when we found out that the pharmacy closed at 6:00 pm, we arrived at 6:08, I should have checked. Now I get told they will not have the medication until tomorrow and they will not transfer the prescription to another pharmacy that would have it today. So now my wife gets the pleasure of enduring a broken hand's pain for another day. So much for the Hippocratic oath of not causing harm. read more

In short... RUN. Go find another pharmacy in town. Save yourself time, money, and a whole lot of chaos. I've come to expect problems with getting refills from Walgreens. I probably should have changed a long time ago, but I'm a creature of habit. Most recently, I ordered a refill for a recurring Rx online; the website said the meds would be ready the next day. Went in to the store, and they didn't have a record of my request (even though it shows on the website and Walgreens app). So we resubmitted it. Wait another day. Went to pick it up, and they said it would cost several hundred dollars more than the last time I had it refilled (4x my last refill price, and 14x the cost quoted to me by two other pharmacies as I've been investigating this). They told me to call my insurance, suggesting that's where the price was set. Insurance company said that's not true, and that the price was set by Walgreens. Called Walgreens, was told I should check to see if their store has a preferred contract with my insurance or if my insurance company isn't being recognized (shouldn't Walgreens know that?). (I'm with the second largest insurance provider in the country, by the way, so...). Insurance company said that's not the problem; the issue is with the local store setting the price incorrectly. Called back to Walgreens, got past the runaround, and was put on hold to wait for the Pharmacy Manager. Twenty minutes (!) of dreadful "on hold music" later, I was disconnected. Called back and got the cashier, who offered to take my name and number and have someone call. Spoke with the store manager, who said the pharmacy manager is busy but that he would give her my name and number to call. Still haven't received that call. Contacted another pharmacy in town, spoke to the pharmacist right away, and he said he would arrange to have my Rx transferred to his store instead so that it could be quickly refilled (and and the correct price) without any problems. He was polite, helpful, and made my situation a priority. Now THAT's how customer service should work! Like I said, I should have changed a long time ago. I think it's easy to just fall into a routine with a store we may have trusted in the past without realize just how awful their service has become over time. Like the proverbial "frog in the kettle," I finally realized Walgreens is killing me (hmmm... certainly harming me, since I'm going without my meds while all of this is happening). Walgreens just isn't up to snuff anymore. At least not in Warrenton. By the way, while waiting for the Pharmacy Manager to contact me, I reached out to Walgreens' corporate office and spoke with their customer service department. They agreed that the situation is being mishandled, that customers shouldn't be delayed like this, that it sounds like I was being given false information about how pricing is set, and that they would follow up. Not sure what that means at this point... UPDATE: The Walgreens' Pharmacy Manager reached out to me a couple of times after this incident, and she reported spending time on the phone with a few different representatives of my insurance company. However, she was unable to find a solution; Walgreens still wanted to charge me about $800 for an Rx that was filled a few months ago for $25, stating that the new price was beyond their control. However, I contacted the pharmacy at Harris Teeter, was able to immediately connect with the pharmacist (no huge time on hold like at Walgreens). I had my doctor resubmit the Rx to Harris Teeter, went in the next day, and was able to get my medication for 12% of what Walgreens was charging. I was in and out in just 5 minutes, and the staff there was friendly and helpful. read more

He led me through the store and helped me in the meat department while giving me that meatloaf!!! Very helpful manager definitely needs a raise !! Terrific store overall and very clean ! This Walgreens Pharmacy went above and beyond to fill my prescription after hours. There was a problem with my after surgery prescription and my insurance. They worked with the hospital to get the prescription filled and just in time for pain management. Very grateful as I was preparing for a rough night with Tylenol as my only pain killer. read more

2 part review - First the store: It's great, has everything I needed and good prices. Easy parking and location is right off business 29. It's next to Chick Fil A which is a bonus. Friendly staff. Two red box kiosks outside- yay! Second, the pharmacy: been going here for years and it's was always ok. But lately (in the last year or so) every time I bring a script for my son's monthly medicine, it's the same song and dance.... "We don't have it in stock and won't be here for 2-3 days." Well that sucks. Went there today and was told they won't have it until Monday. Today is Wednesday. Not acceptable. 1-2 days maybe. Not 5 days. Went to CVS. it'll be ready today at 2PM. read more

My rite aid prescription was transferred to a Walgreens since rite aid closed. I go to a Walgreens? They look me up, and say ok, your prescriptions will be ready in half an hour: I return, and when I try to pick up my prescriptions they said they made a mistake, my insurance doesn't allow them to fill my prescription - which isn't true - in addition to using my insurance at various pharmacies and other Walgreens, I live with a pharmacist and what they're saying is bs. Each time, I had 4-5 people in front of me, so they don't know what they are doing and they are super slow at not knowing what they are doing. The store also is super slow, they always have 1 cashier with a long, long line. read more

Had to come here a couple time to get some prescriptions for my mom. There was always a line at the pharmacy. Even if the DR called in the prescription multiple hours prior, most of the time it wasn't ready. The staff at the pharmacy - besides the pharmacist were overworked and cranky! The store was well stocked besides the pharmacy! Always bogo deals on vitamins. If you only need 1, you pay full price... So leave room for 2 bottles. read more

Terrible pharmacy. Can't go there without something wrong with a prescription. Runs out of medications even though they know my monthly prescriptions and I use auto refill. App ready day/times don't match the actual medication readiness. App said ready, got to store and it wasn't. Pharmacist said it would be ready the next day but they it wasn't because they actually ran out. They have suppliers who run out. They expect the customer to run to other Walgreens to get medications vice having it sent to the local store. Endless hold time if calling the pharmacy. If you have a choice in which pharmacy to use, don't use Walgreens. read more

I have placed lots of orders at this specific Walgreens location. Generally, I had been satisfied with the service. I was not always happy with the service, but it had been acceptable. I decided to give a lower one star rating because past experiences didn't exceed my expectations. Two weeks ago, I placed an order for two promotional photo books early in the morning. The promised pickup time was after 9.45am, which I chose rather than after 11am. Around 10.45am, we stopped by at the Walgreens location just to find out that there was nobody who would work on the order until after the 11am because the assistant manager was out and the manager was on vacation. I explained that one of the books was a gift for my parents, who were about to leave back to Europe that afternoon. I mentioned that I would now have to pay $25 to ship the book to Europe. She repeated that there is nothing she could do and only when she left she said 'I am sorry about that'. Not a very genuine apology; apparently, she didn't care because I receive an email that my order was processed around 1.30pm that day. Obviously, she didn't even leave a note to the photo shop associate. Neither did she leave a message for the assistant manager to address this issue. On Sunday, I sent an email to customer relations and received an answer from Felicia (below) in which she stated that a member of the management would reach out within two business days. Email from Walgreens' customer relations response: Dear Mark, Thank you for taking the time to email us with your concern regarding our store at 276 W LEE HWY. I truly apologize for any inconvenience this experience may have caused you. Walgreens takes customer comments and complaints very seriously, and we will continue to try to improve the way we do business. Please be assured that all the facts of this matter have been documented and forwarded to management for review. A member of management will reach out to you within two business days. Walgreen's is ok. It's not somewhere I frequent though its close to my house. Some things are less expensive elsewhere but you can find good deals there. I do like enlarging my photos here so I can frame and hang. read more

Nice store. The pharmacy has lots of people working there - they are pretty good at filling the Rx orders quickly. I tend to drop-off and pick up my prescriptions at the drive-thru. In the store is also nice and clean. They've hired an older lady to work the front register. I've seen her in there twice on the week-end and she is very friendly. She asks how you're doing and really means it (so rare). No the 'have a nice day' mumble that I'm used to getting. There is a red-box out front, if you like to get DVDs that way (I don't), and they also have the Rhino propane (which I do use). If you're a coupon person, they have the sales flyer in the front of the store that (time permitting) you should always pick up and see what's on sale. Otherwise, it could get frustrating if you don't have the coupon when you get to the counter. Get the card too to earn points. If you're there often enough, you get money off on future visits. Also useful is the app. This can scan Rx for refills - this is a big time saver. I don't really use the app for any other purpose, though. But this is a good enough reason for me. read more

There is ALWAYS some kind of issue when I try to pick up my monthly refill, and it's usually the same issue over and over again with promises that they've fixed the problem only to have the same problems pop up the next time I try to refill. I never leave negative reviews because I know how demanding and thankless a job in customer service can be but this is just beyond frustrating. Done with them. read more

I tried to pick up my prescription at the drive through today but they just ignored me while I waited. I went inside and waited in line. Their app didn't work and Apple Pay didn't work. I think that's it for me at this Walgreens. I'm going to start using the one in Gainesville or Bristow. This one is a waste of my time. read more

This Walgreens use to have excellent service, and professional, helpful employees. Now you have to wait for an hour or longer for prescriptions and the line is horribly long. Placed an order for photos on line and was told they would be ready in 48 hours. Stopped to pick up and told the machine was broken, had been repaired and our order would be ready in 24 hours. Stopped by again and still not ready. Again after another day gone by and still not ready! Now after almost a week, no phone pick up! Abominable service! Avoid at all costs! read more

Recently went to use the same day photo pickup service. I went to the kiosk and received the confirmation that my photo would be printed in 30 minutes, great! Although no one was there, I asked the cashier if she handled photos and she said that the manager did. Hung around the store only to be informed by the cashier 30 min later that the photo were not ready and to come back tomorrow. It was 2 hours before closing time, so I know that the photo station isn't priority number one, however, if you advertise same day pickup from 6 am to 12 am, that's what you should deliver (especially since the whole reason I was there was for the SAME DAY pickup service). I also couldn't understand why she couldn't call the manager to print the photo but I digress. Came back at opening time the next day. Again no one at the photo station. Waited maybe 5-10 minutes for what I assume to be the manager to get the photo for me. The customer service at this Walgreens is LACKING and I suggest going to a different pharmacy altogether. read more

The woman who works at the makeup counter with black hair has worked here for over a year and has no clue what she is doing.99% of the clearance ring up the regular price so they have to change the price.We got two shampoos(regular price $9,on clearance for $1.70)and they rang up $9.we said the stick says 1.70;so instead of changing it to the right price,she adds two more shampoos making it seem like we bought 4. We also bought midol(20 ct),also on clearance.there was a coupon in walgreens book for a dollar of ANY midol 20 and up.The Picture had the night time one so she kept say it was the wrong product.She calls the manager and over the phone she says we are trying to use a coupon for the wrong product. Again we say its not the wrong product but again does not listen. Last one for now. The posies were on sale for 5.99 and there was a $2 coupon in their book(which they had in the tags)and i had a $2 coupon.So for one of the posies it was $2,but on the receipt it was $3.87.I have know clue what she did. read more

I've always experienced good customer service at this particular location. Until now! I ordered Christmas cards and was told they would be ready in a couple of hours. After returning 3 times and days later, they told me they could not be printed because the machine was not working. I was also told they were under new management, and so called management expected the cashiers to take care of the photo department instead of having dedicated people in the photo department. Nobody ever called me to tell me that my order would not be filled. Now I am stuck with nothing. Obviously this new management is the problem. Only giving it a one because zero isn't an option. The pharmacy is just too slow. Three or more registers, and always a line. And the customers know it. Honestly, three times other customers have literally raced me to the pharmacy. One man even commented on it and did let me go in front of him. I would not recommend this insensitive pharmacy after the female pharmacist refused to fill a prescription from an emergency visit. It was 8:56 and she indicated that the pharmacy - not the store - was closing in 3 minutes but it would take 15 minutes to fill the prescription. Unbelievably poor customer service. When it comes to the pharmacy one hand doesn't know know what the other is doing. A few bad apples ruin the whole experience. Transferred my business to Safeway where it's cheaper and more professional. Not just one bad experience- several times they called me to pick up prescriptions and only 1 of 2 or 3 were ready. This pharmacy has gone WAY down hill from a year ago and I mean WAY DOWN HILL Forever waits both inside and outside, lost prescriptions, calling doctors office for wrong prescriptions, times promised ends up being much later than told, you name it, they don't do it. I wish I could rate them in the minus star category because they don't deserve any stars in my opinion. I am not basing my review on ONE visit, but MANY. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Prescriptions consistently take forever and a day. The only reason I go here is that I am mandated to do so by my insurance company. We used to be with CVS - scripts were always filled in less than an hour. Then Walgreens won the contract and now we wait for hours, sometimes days, before the script is filled. I was disappointed with the service I received recently. I chose this store specifically because the pharmacy was open until 11 p.m. Well, that wasn't really the case. I arrived at 8:30 p.m. and was told that my RX wouldn't be ready until the next morning! Long wait to drop off and pick up a prescription. Lack of staff and the staff that was there was rude. "When would you like to COME BACK for this?" instead of "When would you like this ready/would you like to wait in the store?" Threatening me with a long wait time is just plain sad and lazy. Literally come back twice for anything I need. If it wasn't for the drive through, I would never come here. If I ask for name brand, I get generic. Ask for generic, I get name brand. They said yesterday my prescription would be ready tomorrow morning on priority? Here at 9:45pm and have waited 30 minutes. Come back in 10 minutes to pick up... make it 30 and it's a 50/50 chance. Sometimes they say prescription refills can take 2 days and sometimes they say 3. Literally no one knows what's going on. Watched an 80 year old old man yesterday fight with the drive through for 10 solid minutes because they were not listening to him and then he had to leave the drive through when they admitted he was right to wait again. The second lane has been closed down for months. Yesterday I came and a man at the counter didn't know how to begin to process a refill request. The pharmacist had to help me after 10 minutes with a line wrapped around the store to repeat my name and Birthday fir the 10th time. Sitting here now for 20 minutes at the drive through window for something that was supposed to be ready last night. Seriously could not make this stuff up. read more
