After an hour in the Jiffy Lube Live parking lot, trying to leave after the Pitbull show, I really had to pee. Seems like many people from the show were here, picking up snacks and such. I would suspect this happens after most concerts, so it baffled me to discover that the store was in disarray as the floors were being clean. Yes, it was after midnight, but if you know a bunch of people are gonna show up soon, maybe wait until after the rush to break out the zamboni? I felt like I was being chased around the store. Also, A man with several mops was blocking the way to the bathroom and told a coworker to "look out! Rookie driver!" Excuse me sir, but I have been driving my wheelchair far longer than you'd like to understand. I am far from a rookie, and I didn't come close to crashing into anything or anyone. How about you move the hell out of the way? Neither of these wise gentlemen could bother to hold open the bathroom door, as they were too busy having a chuckle. Jeremy had to basically climb over me and these men, with their equipment, to get the door. Then there was someone in the accessible stall, making phone calls. I know this because the phone was on speaker, and the call was being forwarded. I used to be a regaulr at Wawa, but after moving out of state, getting a sandwich here is an extremely rare treat. We stopped on a road trip for lunch. The kiosk ordering system was much more confusing/difficult than I recalled it being a few years ago. We got stuck several times after having put in all of the items we wanted to order. There was no button to go pay, just cancel or order more items. We ended up pressing cancel in exasperation, and that actually enabled us to proceed to checkout. If it were opposite day, such a backwards system would make sense. But this was just irritating. Our sandwiches were very good and the service was quick. My ciabatta roll was overly toasted to the point that it shattered, making it difficult to hold and a bit painful on the roof of my mouth. But the turkey, oils, and spices were delicious. Ordered a blueberry lemonade today at 1240 I got to my car had a sip and it was straight water and flavor concentrate. I saw her make my drink and said damm that a lot of water but maybe that's how it's supposed to be . I have been living in the area for over 20 years now and this WaWa has always been there and it is still rocking to this day after one major renovation. I took off one star because if you go late at night or in the middle of the night then they will only have half of their menu items available, and things can take much longer for them to make because they're mainly chitchatting a lot rather than prioritizing making things mainly because not a lot of people come up there in the middle of the night, but they are 24/7. I have heard Wawa has a following, so since we were in the area I had to stop by and see what all the hype is about...and now I'm a Wawa fan! I LOVE THIS PLACE!! Its like the Taj Mahal of gas station food goodness...drinks, hot food, and amazing sandwiches made-to-order! Even their ordering system was efficient and easy, everything was on screens and you just place your order on their app, then they call out your number when its ready! Super easy, super fast, super convenient, and super good! I had their turkey and ham hoagie, with everything on it, on their hoagie roll. It was awesome! Perfect amount of meat and fillings, with really good soft bread and a great mustard made for a super tasty, balanced sandwich! They don't add mayo, but they do have a great condiment kiosk right beside where you pick the sandwiches up so you can grab your mayo packets and other condiments and utensils. We got their 10 inch sandwiches, which were big enough for lunch and dinner for both of us! The sample of chicken noodle soup had a good broth consistency. The wheat loaves max out at 6" but true length seemed to run closer to 8". (Ruth, why are you so good at eyeballing length? I have no idea what you're talking about.) The thin layers of bread barely held up against my teeming cheesesteak order (out of prime rib, sad) with full veg, all lightly dressed in oil and vinegar. This evening I placed an order at Wawa Gainesville. I ordered my go to custom grilled chicken sandwich. I am glad I opened the sandwich to take a look before consuming. What I discovered was undercooked chicken. The chicken was pink and I do know that undercooked chicken can potentially cause food poisoning. I immediately contacted the store manager. He told me he'd take care of me regarding a refund. Then he proceeded to explain to me that it is safe for me to consume the chicken. How he consumed it earlier and it's fine. That statement was appalling to me. If you order food at Wawa Gainesville be sure to inspect it before you eat it. We love saying and visiting Wawa. It is "one stop shopping" for road trips. The gas is normally cheaper than at home. We have the same routine every visit: Fill the tank. Order a food item. Visit restroom. Justify why getting "just one" donut won't hurt anything. Pick up order. Pay for items while chatting with friendly employees. I could've had a Wawa! For years I've heard the Wawa commercials on the radio - and I always wondered just what the hell a Wawa is or was! I've never seen one until I encountered the one that opened off of U.S. 29 in Gainesville. It's a gas station, a convenience store, a coffee pit stop, a deli! It slices! And dices! AND... Oh never mind I'm getting carried away! Moving along, I stopped in here for coffee one evening - I needed to have a "Wawa." Whatever that is. Sounds like it could be any of the following: (a) You are pregnant with an Alien's baby and are about to give birth (Mother giving explanation - "Oh - it's a "Wawa!"); (b) About to throw a special temper tantrum - code named: "Wawa"; (c) You are a teacher from any Peanut's animated TV special - and this is just how you talk: "Wawawawawawawawawawawawawawa!" The cap on the French vanilla cappuccino maker came off and powder was pouring out.. I showed her and she slammed the door shut on the Cappuccino machine and when gotta add a water sign and put it on there. Instead of fixing it knowing I was standing there waiting to get some. She didn't say I can't fix it right now she didn't say anything at all she just turned around and walked off was very rude.. Wawa's have the 7eleven convenience (sorry) with the Starbucks service (to me). Some shops are better than others but the culture and customers who appreciate the brand are the same. This pains me! I love WAWA! We spent 4 yrs in NJ living off of WAWA coffee and food! This store, however, does not live up to WAWA standards! I went into the bathroom at 8:30 am this morning in the way to MD. I just came back through at 5pm. The bathroom has not been touched. The feminine product trash can was full this morning and the same trash was there this evening. Realizing this made me start looking around at the rest of the place, very dirty! Front counter people are friendly but they have a severe lack of intelligence, time management, multi tasking and following directions in the food and drink area. This Wawa is pretty squared away for the most part. I come here often and finally realized I had never checked in or reviewed it. So here we go. They have cheap gas, cheap food, cheap tobacco products, cheap beverages, cheap everything. Cheap is what I want in a place like this, so it's a perfect match for me. To make things better, Wawa has good coffee and some subs that are pretty damn good for on the go. In fact they have lots of food choices and most of them are decent for convenience store food. In some cases it rises above that level. The staff is very nice and most of them are pretty hardworking people. Lines can sometimes get long really quick, but they usually open another register right away. The parking lot is decent too. It's large and has abundant space. They even have room in the back for Semi Trucks, RVs, Buses etc. There is one little quirk you should know about. Parking in the front can be dangerous because of the constant traffic in and out. I almost always park on the side of the building to avoid backing out in a tricky spot. My only complaint is that sometimes it can be very dirty. As in there is trash everywhere. Obviously this isn't totally their fault. I hope they'll put a little more attention to this in the future. I will continue to be a regular at this Wawa. *This business is gun carry friendly. read more

While on a road trip, I got hungry (oh, how many great food stories start this way?). My companion and I really wanted some hoagies and she told me of a mystical Wawa in Virginia. I didn't even know that Wawa's reach was that far and I was surprised there was a Wawa south of the Mason-Dixon Line. But I am certainly not complaining. This Wawa was every bit as good as every other one I've eaten at (don't let the gas station vibe fool you)-- the rolls were fresh and the toppings were in exactly the right ratio for an Italian hoagie. Something that surprised me about this Wawa were the brands for sale; for instance, I have yet to see Krabby Patty gummy burgers for sale this decade, and yet there they were sitting on the shelf. Wawa is a place that my friend and I like to make a journey to. Their computer system that you use to put in orders gives you so many choices that my friend has learned to walk away once I approach the computer system. it could be awhile.... This trip: we ordered a banana foster drink and a veggie hoagie (trying to be healthy). Cost was about $8. It would have been more if I kept looking around for Wawa brand purchases. In the half hour drive back home, I couldn't wait. I had to consume the hoagie. Once, I opened my intense veggie sandwich (I put EVERYTHING on it, except some sauces) and realized that putting in grilled pepers with raw peppers and so on was maybe a little much. When my friend told me 2 years ago that her new favorite place to eat is Wawa, I said, "A GAS STATION"?!?!?! Long story short, over the past couple years, I've had numerous sandwiches and nachos, and they're all freshly made to order and well priced. Never, though, did I ever consider writing a review of their food - after all, it's a GAS STATION... but after the breakfast I had there this morning, I simply must. About 5 months ago I had their croissant b'fast sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese, and couldn't believe how well made it was. Nothing like fast food sandwiches, but more like a gourmet French bakery. What the...?!?! This was no frozen croissant, but a fresh, light, and flaky bit 'o heaven. The price was $2.29. Today I stopped there for gas, which is the cheapest in the area, by the way, and thought I'd have another one of those delicious croissant breakfast sandwiches. They were on sale for 2 for $3. I sure didn't need 2, but it was a cheap way to try both the bacon sandwich again and now, the sausage. OK, so I already described the amazing croissant itself, now here's the rest of the story. So much thick meat that dare I say almost "too" much?! NAW! :) Let's just say WAY more than fast food places where you have to dig around to find the little sucker. The bacon croissant had about 6 slices of delicious bacon, about 2 fluffy fresh scrambled eggs, and a delightful amount of melted cheese that hung over the edges. As for the sausage one, thick and large sausage patty, about 3 times as big as McDonald's, just to give you a comparison, and 100 times for fresh and delicious. Everything about it tasted homemade and fresh, not frozen. Again, all the food I've had at this gas station (ACK!... still can't get over that) has been good, but the breakfast croissants put every other one I've had to shame, and one bite and you'll think you'll in a French bakery, not an American gas station. I would give 5 stars, but am knocking it to 4 because the croissants are a bit greasy. If they could ease up on the grease, it'd be 5 stars with no hesitation. In addition to their made-to-order food, they have freshly prepared grab 'n go foods, much of it very healthy. I often buy my kids the cute fruit, cheese, pretzel, and yogurt tray (grab 'n go) rather than hit a fast food chain. They enjoy it more and it's so much better for them. Wawa is a wondrous place with amazing sandwiches, great coffee, yummy cookies, and other fun stuff and cheap gas. This may be an overstatement, but I can't communicate the awesome of a Wawa hoagie or a pork roll sizzli or a Wawachino or their blue raspberry soda in words alone. For this alone, any Wawa is worth the trip! Two things set this location apart. 1: The gas prices here are by far the cheapest in its little corner of Prince William County. On top of the great food, this may be worth the 2.5ish mile detour off of I-66. 2: For anyone going to the amphitheater currently called Jiffy Lube Live, Wawa's sandwiches fit very well into the gallon bag that they let you bring in with lots of room to spare. I went to Wawa last Sunday to fill up on gas and get the Sunday paper and some snacks/drinks. I do coupons so I got the Sunday post and the paper for Gainesville/Manassas area. The outside area as well as inside were very clean. The check out service inside was quick and friendly. They did not have vacuums outside- I had to go somewhere else to vacuum out my car, nor a car wash there.
