I have seen the PA at this office twice for mole checks and had several areas frozen off. One area on my upper back/shoulder was frozen but just kept getting a tiny scab on it but it wouldn't bleed. Just gave me a bad feeling so I went back and asked to have it removed and sure enough it was precancerous and more surgery is required. In the meantime, I got new insurance and the front desk called about coverage and they were told I didn't have benefits which was incorrect. I called and found out that I have limited benefits which I relayed to the office. Today I showed up for my back surgery and was told that I had to pay $1500.00 in order to be seen. I was told that the insurance will only reimburse me and not the doctor so the doctor wants payment which I get. I asked why no one notified me and this is where the "blame" game started. Front desk said the billing department called me and told me I'd have to pay that amount - I never got a call, text, email or anything. I then spoke to the billing department Loretta who reiterated what I was supposedly told and I explained again -no one contacted me about anything. "Well, I wasn't involved with that conversation" was the answer I got. When I called the front desk back,again, was told "I'm just the receptionist" when obviously I was distraught. Not only the behavior with which I was treated, but I'm the one who asked for the spot to be removed -not the PA who examined me so now I have no confidence in their capabilities. I realize it's my insurance and I should know but the office knew I only had the insurance 2 months - but to not be notified that I had to pay $1500.00 or I wouldn't be seen for an obvious oversight the PA made I find very upsetting. Terrible customer service - it went quickly downhill. I have since left to go to another practice. Save time and just go somewhere else. I would leave no star if I could. I specifically spoke to the PA about the creams I had been using for a rash. She stated she would call in the creams I had been using as well as an antibiotic cream. I received antibiotic pads like hemorrhoid pads not and antibiotic cream, and as told by the nurse that the creams I had asked for were not necessary and would not be called in. This was not the conversation I had with the PA. read more

I've been going to Dr. Finkel since he started in Warrenton for a variety of skin conditions. He has helped me with my psoriasis, warts, skin tags, etc. His staff is amazing. Dr. Finkel has treated my wife and children for everything from rashes to acne. We even use his MedSpa 360 for removing facial bumps and laser hair removal. read more

I went to Dr. Finkel a few times to remove lesions by freezing them off with a cryogun. On Auguest 29, 2023 I was at my appointment to remove a few more. I would inspect my body before I went and would show him where they were. He would only remove five to six at each appointment. At this appointment I showed him two small ones, one on each side of my face. His procedure was to feel them with his fingers and then freeze them with the cryogun. He felt and froze the two on my face, then, without warning he poked the tip of my nose with the cryogun. They are not supposed to touch the skin with the gun. Immediately turned around and said something in a very low voice. I said loudly " Why did you do that. There was nothing there." I repeated that statement. He did not look at me or respond. I got up and left. I had another appointment scheduled with him and went expecting an apology. He completely denied that any of what I said ever happened. He said he saw something on my nose and froze it off. That did not happen.That was an obvious lie. If there was something on my nose I would have seen it. He poked at me and touched my nose with the cryogun. I told him he was a liar and left. My nose had a big bump where he touched me so I went to another dermatologist. I was told I needed surgery to remove the bump. It required 13 to 15 stitches after the surgery. I now have a very ugly scarred nose. I cannot imagine a professional that would lie to a client. He actually said that if I filed a complaint it would be his word against mine. Dr. Finkel has proven to me that his character is as low as it can be. read more

The doctor and his staff are wonderful. They are extremely professional and kind and competent. My whole family goes to this practice. They do everything from treating rosacea, to eczema, to cosmetic issues for myself and my kids. They are the best! read more

My rating would be below one star if possible. Dr. Finkle is arrogant, obnoxious and dangerous. My adult son went to him for a red rash on ONE side of his face. Dr. Finkle said it was rosacea and prescribed a cream. I have rosacea and knew that it wasn't correct. The cream did nothing, so my son went back and was prescribed another cream for "rosacea". My son now has a serious infection and is has been in and out of UVA hospital for a year because of this misdiagnosis. But I would not even call it a misdiagnosis really. Dr. Finkle doesn't spend enough time with you to even come up with a true diagnosis. It is really a guess that takes 30 seconds of his time. Please do not go to him! read more

I've had two visits a year apart with Dr. Finkel. The first visit he was nice, informative and professional. I followed up a year later on some moles he had deemed suspect during our first visit and some places I was told may be pre-cancerous. Wow, what a difference a year made. He was RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL AND EXTREMELY CREEPY. While in the examining room with me alone, he had me take the paper robe off and glanced at a couple of moles and asked what was my problem as if he had never told me to follow up and there was nothing wrong. Then he stepped back with the paper robe still in his hands and said "what else"?? I pointed to the places on my legs and he glanced from about 4 feet away and said it's nothing - and asked who told me it was pre-cancerous? I asked him if there was any way to get rid of them as these spots (whatever they are - he never did tell me) have gotten worse over the years and I think they are ugly and embarrassing. He said no, and I pressed further about any cosmetic procedure to remove them, anything? He then pulled out a tool to freeze moles off and zapped one spot on my leg for several seconds. He again stood back and asked "will that be all?" I honestly couldn't believe the difference in this man from a year ago. I've worked in a doctors office before and my father is a physician. I thought to myself this man cannot be this stupid, he must be crazy - here I am half nude, alone in here with him and he's acting like a complete jerk. If I were one of those people I could make all kinds of accusations. By far, this was the most uncomfortable and unprofessional interaction I have ever had with any physician. read more

Had a thing in my head, everybody said it looked bad. Saw Dr. Finkel, in the first 10 seconds he said the magic 3 words - "it's not cancer". Gotta love that when they get that out of the way without a huge intro. The doctor gave options and I chose to have him remove it. Took like 30 seconds, no pain. I had to check to believe it. Has since healed nicely. Price was very fair plus got a discount with insurance. Hope I don't need any doctor in the future but if it's skin related, I'm using dr Finkel again. He has great confidence and that gave me confidence. Loved the office and patient room decor too. This is a no brainer for picking your skin doctor. read more

I wish I heard the horror stories about this "doctor" before I went to him. He botched a surgery to remove a cyst under my arm - a surgery that he should have never done. After I faced potentially life-threatening complications because of his incompetence, several doctors examined me and said a dermatologist should have never done the surgery which should have been performed by a general surgeon. Not only did I have horrible pain, I now have permanent disfigurement because of this man's inadequate skills and bad judgement. When I called about some alarming swelling and pain after the procedure, he dismissed it without even seeing me. I insisted on him seeing me, and immediately he said, "All doctors have complications." He then gave me steroids to reduce the swelling and antibiotics to fight possible infection. As the problems got worse, I went to my general practitioner who sent me to the hospital. Upon mentioned Finkel's name to several doctors, every one of them said that he had a horrible reputation and was "not very good." They also said his treatment was contraindicated and that my symptoms indicated a serious complication that could cause a blood clot to travel to my heart and cause a heart attack. Thank God I got proper treatment that may have saved my life. Even after the acute pain dissipated - which took months - I had to go through more than six months of physical therapy that was so painful I was often in tears as the therapist tried to stretch the tight cords running down my arm that prevented me from being able to raise my arm past my shoulder. It was a nightmare. Highly respected doctors told me that they see a lot of Finkel's patients after he has harmed them and these doctors have to treat the problems Finkels has caused. In my case I experienced extensive swelling that encompassed my entire arm and caused so much pain I could hardly move my fingers. I developed hard cords all the way to my thumb, which my doctors said were due to him either accidentally removing a lymph node or damaging it. The more I told people about what happened, I heard that Finkel missed cancers and misdiagnosed countless people - so I hope the woman who wrote the review where she was relieved Finkel told her she didn't have cancer goes to get a second opinion from a doctor who is actually competent. This man should not be practicing medicine. read more

Make sure to check before any lab work is done that they are using your insurance's preferred diagnostic Lab. They do not use LAB CORP or Quest, and send the lab work to Aurora/Greensboro Diagnostics. This lab accepted our insurance company, but our insurance company only paid $17 toward the bill, while if Dr. Finkle office had used LAB CORP it was would have been covered 100%. Read the fine print before you sign anything. We found another doctor. read more

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Dr. Finkel and his staff, and the MedSpa. I have been going here for about 4 years now. Mostly for Microderm and peels. But now I see him directly for other fun things. He spends time with me, offers other options, and is very gentle with injectables. What I go there for is cosmetic. Wow what a difference experience makes- this guy knows what he is doing. Big Fan. No problems scheduling, as long as it in advance. Meaning don't expect to get an appointment for tomorrow- they fill up quickly. Honestly, I could hang out there all day- the staff is FUN! These guys are CROOKS. After going there for a cosmetic procedure they not only billed me IN FULL for the procedure but also billed my insurance for an office visit, and charged me a $60 specialist co pay on top of the cost of the procedure. They told me they were billing the office visit because I got a "consultation" since we spent a maximum of 5 minutes discussing other cosmetic procedures besides the one I got. I argued that if they want to bill for a consultation, it needs to be disclosed up front because it is not standard practice to bill for them. They argued that it was in fact normal. When I told them they were committing insurance fraud by billing my insurance for discussing things that arent coverd by insurance, it didnt seem to phase them. When I told them I would report them to my insurance company they told me that insurnace will pay them in the end. I told them I would post a complaint onlie and they told me they have been in business for 10 years and that they will make it through my complaint. The customer service was AWFUL and the staff was rude and unaccomodating. They are completley unethical and are obviously only out for the money. They could care less about customer satisfaction. Excellent doctor! Called for an appointment within days of having a lesion appear out of nowhere in my forehead. I was given an appointment quickly, within a couple days. The doctor was very nice and told me he suspected it was skin cancer and removed the lesion for testing. It was positive for skin cancer and I had to have further excision by a surgeon. Overall he was very nice and correctly diagnosed the lesion by looking at it. Although it is very unusual to have a skin cancer pop up overnight and it was frightening to have a large incision on my face, it healed beautifully with no irregularity on my face. I'm an RN and I would highly recommend this doctor. Nice office staff too. Five stars! Thank you! Nancy Y. read more
