I worried about leaving my 2 dogs in kennels for the first time and researched all local (and not so local) options. I was very impressed when I visited Walkapaws. I arrived a day early by mistake. The dog ares were spotless and comfortable. There was a large number of dogs socialising together happily outside in a secure area, fully supervised. No anxious barking, quite an achievement! Most importantly the human team are genuine dog lovers, and came across as professional and friendly. I left my dogs at Walkapaws knowing they would be well cared for. Enjoyed seeing photos of them on Facebook while I was on hols. On my return I found them healthy and happy. I would recommend Walkapaws-you get what you pay for. read more

Don't expect Walk a Paws to follow your requests when boarding your dog(s) there. They know very little about training dogs or behavioural issues. Basically it's just a place for the dogs to run around, do what they want and go where they want. There are no boundaries other than the fence around the place. They blatantly told me that they don't follow owners wishes or schedules for their dogs eg. they get treats as a reward (my dog's don't do reward treats). One bag of treats wasn't returned to me because apparently other dog owners bring treats in to be shared. I wasn't even asked if I wanted to do that. Whatever you do, don't even think about taking a dog there that has any issues or behavioural problems. They don't care and won't help you with them (basically they know nothing about dog behaviour) The owners ran a business previously and has no experience in dog handling, training, etc. I was deceived during our initial conversation when I was told they could help me with my dogs problems. I just bought a new bed for my dogs and they ruined it by putting it through the washer and dryer. I have a cover for the bed and I line it with pee pads. They are so out of it that they didn't even notice the pee pads, the clean cover in the bag or the extra peed pads. The bed was washed with the cover on it and the pee pads inside it. I had to deal with soaking wet pads, etc when I got home. When I asked what had happened the only concern the owner had was that the pee pads could have ruined her washer and that putting them on the bed was highly unusual. Very bad experience and it has taken forever to retrain my dogs after being there. One good thingthey love dogs. read more

Last review seems very hostile towards this company, First they state that their dogs dont get treats, and shouldnt be rewarded with treats. But then complain they never got a bag of treats back? Then complain about bed getting washed with pee pads in them, doesnt exactly seem like a very well trained dog if it need pee pads in its bed in the first place! I have had no dealings with the company, but think that that last review seems to unduly harsh! read more
