In order to not be charged for a cancelled visit, you need to provide at least 24 hours notice, which is sometimes impossible because, hey, life happens. I understand they have a schedule to work around, but I wish there were 1 or 2 "freebies" for cancelling with less than 24 hours notice (or at least only charge half for 12 hours notice). That being said, I know my dog is in great hands while I am at work, which is extremely comforting. Jennifer assigned us Jimmy as a walker - and that was P's BFF from that day forward. Jimmy is such a good human, would txt me updates, if needed, and treated Princess ...like a literal Princess! He was always on time, always communicative, and if the rate case he couldn't cover a walk, Jennifer took her out! They even convinced my little chi to potty in the rain & snow (something I struggle with to this day). Eventually some route changes kicked in and Isa was our walker. Isa was so sweet as well, and helped me fit P in a proper harness (which is tough for the little ones) in addition to being prompt & communicative! Additionally Jennifer sends consistent updates to clients through the portal, it's flexible with scheduling, and send a super cute newsletter with helpful information - esp for first time dog owners. Overall, Run and Play is the best pet care service in southern Maryland area! Claire was incredibly responsive when I sent the initial interest email, and she sent our walker, Jules, out to meet us the next week. We knew it was true love when Jules walked in and said "That dog is a HYENA and hyenas are my favorite animal". Most people call her a tiger, but she is clearly a hyena. Jules has come to walk my pup three days a week for the past few months, and we couldn't be happier. Based on the photos Jules sends after every walk, it is very clear that Suki has a new best friend. Jules is quick to send an update after each walk, and is very responsive to communication in the Portal - even for unrelated tasks I forgot in the morning rush, like taking the blanket off the bed so Suki can't destroy it, as she is prone to do... We recently decided to try a pet sitting service for our cat when we went out of town. The first…read moretwo times we used The Right Fluff Pet Sitting Service I felt things went well because it was one person who were coming into my home to care for my cat. However, the second time it was a little less consistent with the caretaker - who was not either person scheduled the first two times we used the service. This most recent time, during a 9 day service, 5 different people were assigned to come into my home to care for my cat. When I asked about this, Marcy said they use a team approach and clients need to be aware that they can make changes at any time to the service provider. When I asked if I could receive communication ahead of time about these changes, she stated that I was not a good fit for their service and they would no longer accept service requests from me. Mainly because I asked for communication about who is going to be coming into my home. That is very unprofessional to not be willing to communicate with a client about the service provider who will be caring for your pet and coming into your home. This company assumes that every client would allow several different people whom they have never met into their home without clear communication about this plan or the providers. And if you ask for advance notice for communication, you are rejected from their service. USE THIS COMPANY WITH EXTREME CAUTION if you are concerned about the people who enter you home and if you like to have open communication with your provider. ADDENDUM: I am writing this after reading Marcy's response to my initial review- I was informed prior to our trip that there would be one individual providing service while we were out of town. While we were out of town, I began to receive feedback from several different service providers about the care they provided for my cat-- BUT- without any communication from Marcy or anyone at the company. Upon our return I asked about this because I was expecting one provider and she said that our provider had an emergency so that she found different people to cover. What I said-- and I do not believe there any attitude to this response- was that she or someone should have contacted me to inform me that there was an emergency/change of plans. I never met any of the individuals who came into my house - was not even told that this was an option prior to signing up with this service. My issue with this was the communication between Marcy and ourselves about the provider for our cat's care. And when I asked if communication would be able to occur in a situation like this if we use their service again, she said we were not a good fit and would not accept any service requests. I cannot imagine any person not wanting to know who was entering their home and to be informed when someone unexpected was going to be entering their home. Again- I urge EXTREME CAUTION in using this company if you would like to have good communication and if you would like to know who is entering your home when you are out of town.
