I liked the place immediately, and it was clear that they liked our dog (dogs, now; we've added a second Corgi). I've gotten good advice on care and feeding from them, they've helped us out on schedules, and they offer a walking service that takes the dogs up and down the nearby canal towpath. About the canal: Amber Beech is between the canal and the Delaware River. We were on vacation this past summer when Hurricane Irene hit, and we were worried about the dogs. We called, they said they had it under control, but would stay open till we got there to pick up the Corgis. We love this place. There are a couple quirks. They want bordatella (kennel cough) vaccinations every 6 months, and our vet says annual is plenty...but our dogs have never had any problems with illness or fleas after returning from Amber Beech, which I can't say about other kennels in this area we've used. The offices are a bit rough, and the folks are not antiseptically cute...but that suits me just fine. They clearly love the animals, and care for them as if they were their own. We'll be boarding the dogs there during our Christmas travels this year...again.

Based upon the booking screening, it was clear that the company is professional, well-run, and focused. They provide transportation for your pet to and from their boarding stay and even provide daily pictures of your pet via text. We were very happy with the arrangements until, in the middle of our vacation, we were told that our dog had an episode of weakness and was rushed to our vet whose information we provided at booking. Andrew stayed with our pet and transported him to the overnight Emergency vet for observation. Everything turned out fine and Andrew picked up our pet to finish his stay. Andrew went out of his way and not only did everything for our pet that we could have done, but he also kept us informed and comforted. The integrity, compassion, and dedication that PetsAreInn demonstrated during our time of deep concern helped us greatly and made us happy we chose a stay with a family in their home versus in a traditional pet kennel.
