Our first visit was a good one, as this sports bar proved to have good food, great customer service, and a solid menu for our entire party while seated on their upstairs outdoor rooftop. It's an Iowa State shrine with autographed items and photos from Cyclone legends. Our server, Julian, provided terrific customer service, combining a pleasant attitude with knowledge of his restaurant. I enjoyed my Blackened Chicken sandwich with Cajun mayo, a Wallaby's designated favorite and highly recommended by Julian. My Way Better half loved her Beet and Goat Cheese salad.

Good vibes. Burger was good, a little charred on outside which made me frown. Food came fast. Cheese curds were elite

17 dollar chicken sandwich. Sandwich was nothing special. No avocado or brioche bun or anything that warrants it being that much. Worse or as good as a 6 dollar grilled chicken chick fil a sandwich. Horrible music. It was like 2010 pop but edm remixes. Idk if there was free drink refills but I hope there was cause the coke cups we got were tiny. Also idk why but the ranch and other sauces come in nice condiment cup but I got ketchup and it comes in this glass bottle and you can't squeeze it out. You can't gravity it out it's too thick. Can't squeeze it cause it's glass. Like ik you can like hit the bottle with some force to get it out but I'm imagining my grandma trying to get ketchup out of that bottle and that isn't happening. Like that works for thinner bbq sauces not ketchup. Server was nice. Good atmosphere.

Solid place for drinks, bar food, and to watch a game! I had a raspberry mule and the buffalo wrap with fries which was oversaturated with buffalo sauce. Hard to eat and especially hard to enjoy. Would go back but would make sure to order the wrap with less sauce.

Stopped by for a quick lunch with my boyfriend & everything was yummy. Food was plentiful & good, and our server (Brennan) was very friendly and attentive. Sat upstairs and we were the only ones there which was nice and peaceful!

A great locally owned restaurant in the Ames area! I have visited here several times when my parents or other friends come into town. They accommodate groups well and have a lively atmosphere. There's several different dining areas: rooftop, bar, big booths, and small tables. They have TV's for sports and lots of Ames/Iowa State memorabilia. The staff has always been great, prompt, and been able to give recommendations. I usually like to get their wraps (which seem to change with the seasons), but have also had their burgers. Their fries (both sweet potato and regular) are very good. As for drinks, I've only had their Moscow mules (deals on Mondays!) and the peach and raspberry are my favorites.

Great place for a sandwich and beer while watching the game. Good service and lots of screens, including on individual tables.

The servers are amazing and the stuffed jalapeño burger is to die for! Everything and anything you get here is so good.

They are always having deals as well, which make my pockets a little happier knowing I'm not losing a lot of change. The environment can be either quiet, kind of busy or so packed you can't get in. Most nights I'd say are fairly easy to get in and find a table. Its also a great place to take some birthday shots! Definitely recommend the green tea shots. I had a whiskey sour during their whiskey Wednesday and it was awesome! They have many options so you can't go wrong of what you choose. They also have pizza and chips options if you'd like a quick bite! The whole place is worth a try!

We were greeted by the bartenders with a smile and a "Welcome in!". The staff were really nice and even when the bar picked up a little later, they were attentive, efficient, and polite. They definitely didn't "crack under pressure" lol. Inside, the bar and tables were very clean and organized. There is a pool table, but only one :/ I do wish they had a few more because when the bar got busy, everyone wanted a turn. The prices are amazing and the specials are so fun! It's also nice that they're open during the summer, since most bars in Ames seem to close for summer vacation.

The real scoop: My sister and her girlfriends booked a large reservation for our group and they were not prepared at all when we showed up. Not enough tables, not enough seats, it was messy. We ordered drinks, they staggered out. Mine was wrong, came out as a mule instead of a martini, the girl corrected it. My husband and I split the dip trio and the hot chicken sandwich for dinner with tots. (The photo of the onion rings is what my dad ordered as an app) The sandwich was unbearingly messy with sauce all over the place. We ended up picking it apart and eating it with a fork. Service was all over the place and I felt bad for the main girl serving us because the girl helping her could not be more unfriendly/helpful to her. I'm about 99% I wouldn't return here because I have no reason to go back to Ames. This place has potential but my sister and her friends said service and consistency here is an issue and that's obvious big time.

If your kitchen is that backed up, stop taking orders or at least communicate with customers instead of wasting their entire night. I've honestly never experienced service this bad over something as simple as tacos. The food could be amazing and it still wouldn't justify the disaster of a wait time and complete lack of organization. From other Yelp reviews, this place looked like a good place to try. Walking in, it first reminds you of a dive bar and staff were a little slow to seat us on a Thursday lunch but once we got our seats, service was speedier and we were eating soon enough. Service was attentive and our waitress made sure we had things taken care of. The best bang for your buck (or at least for my family of five) was ordering the family sampler platter. We got an assortment of meats including pulled pork, brisket, sausage, and chicken. We also tried the baked beans, mac and cheese, and waffle fries. Portions for the sampler are huge and filled us all up with a little extra left over. The BBQ was really good, just what we were wanting. You can't have good BBQ without good sauce (my opinion) and Jethro's had an assortment to find just the right one for the meat/entrée you were eating. Definitely a great stop, I'm glad we took a small detour to find this location.
