Taking a cat to the vet is never a good time, but the staff here does their best to make the visit…read moreas painless as possible. After I sign in, the receptionists take me out of the waiting area as soon as an exam room is available. You may have to wait a little bit longer but I would much rather pass the time alone in the room with my cat rather than have her carrier be sniffed by dogs. Dr. Brinker and the techs have great bedside manner and really listen to my concerns. I feel confident in the suggestions that she makes for the plan of care and when I had to leave my cat overnight I wasn't worried. That is another service they offer; if you cannot bring your pet at the scheduled appointment time then you can drop them off before you head to work and come pick them up before their office closes. It is not the cheapest vet in the area but the pricing is still reasonable and you really get what you pay for. I've only started coming here 2 months ago but I will happily return as a loyal customer.

A week later while i was cleaning her i noticed several other bite wounds oozing. If they had cleaned her properly they may have found them and stitched them. We had been recommended to call Great Lakes Pet Emergencies. So that's what we did. As I was explaining the situation to the woman on the phone, she cut me off and said "well we're still seeing patients from 5:00 pm. we wouldn't have time to treat him". I said "okay I understand, do you have any recommendations for any other hospitals that I could call, because you are the 6th hospital we've tried." She stated "well honestly that just the reality of emergency medicine this close to a holiday so I can't help you" I work in a vet hospital myself. I understand having bad days where you're backed up like no other and everyone is upset with you. I'm not upset they couldn't see us. It was late and they had more than enough going on. However, the lack of empathy and professionalism that was used on this phone call was astounding to me, especially given that I had just explained to her that my cat was actively dying in my arms. I could never imagine addressing a crying pet parent with such a lack of compassion, even on the busiest of days. I certainly hope that they treat the patients who actually do receive care at their hospital with a gentler hand.

They checked our 13 year old rescue dog, gave him ear medication, came to $212, If we wanted his eyes checked it would cost another $48. The vet said we could buy genteal tears for his eyes from amazon and it would help him. We declined the eye test and paid the $212. Would have been $260 plus any eye meds. Fast forward 6 months we took him to a different vet in Bridgeport. They were also friendly and knowledgeable, checked his ears, gave us 2 ear meds, gave us medication for dry skin and checked his eyes. Said he had an eye infection and glaucoma, gave us eye meds, one being an antibiotic. Came to $168 for everything. When Dr Sheets was here he was always reasonably priced and did a good job. I understand everything costs more now but feel like Veterinary Health Center overcharged us. Needless to say we wont be going back there.

Don't recommend. This business is in it for the money not…read morethe care of our pets. They force you to be fully up to date with everything even when you did it recently and offer you useless options before they get to why you made your appointment just because that all adds up to a good price in their pockets. The staff team makes you feel stupid in-front of everyone in the lobby when you're confused about something, I never went yo school for this so why would I know? This place is a joke. There's cheaper places with better care for our babies around Saginaw and veterinary health center is not it.
