Scheduled work in in August for Sept. Week 1 was a scheduling error and a no show. Week 2 was a no show/no call and eventually a response to an email with a story about tree hitting a house and everyone tied up but they will call to reschedule. Never called. Not reliable. read more

My HOA contracted with them to trim and remove trees. Workers backed into my driveway (which I privately maintain) without my prior knowledge or permission, to access trees causing damage to my recently resurfaced driveway. I notified my HOA manager, and several days later when the workers returned, I told them about the damage, which they rudely denied causing. Tried calling them requesting compensation for damages, and have not returned my call(s). Totally unprofessional and rude. I'll be letting friends and family not to use this service. read more

On 7/1/20 I contracted this company to trim 2 trees on my property. Not a big job but still important to us. Never showed. Never returned calls. Leaves falling so I just cancelled them. I am involved with my condo association and will have a hard time recommending them for future work. read more

I signed a contract last August and waited until November for them to email a date to do the work. They didn't show up on the day they said, nor did they answer my calls or texts. I went to the business office the next day and the worker said he would contact the owner. They showed up the next week and took down the trees and some of the surface roots - then left. There was no communication as to when the rest of the roots would be done nor when they would spread screened topsoil and seed. In December, I sent an email offering to pay for much of the work in order to give him some cash flow - no response. In March, I was sent a bill for the entire job. I responded that the work was not finished. When we were not home the next Monday, they came and sprinkled very little seed, no screened soil and left. Surface roots remained. I had had it with them. I sent an email saying they had done a poor job but I paid just to be done with them. The owner responded by calling me an a__hole. I have all the paperwork to substantiate my review. read more

This company is average. I had a tree trimmed by them last week. They took down most of the dead limbs, but not all of them (dead branches fell in the yard the next day after a rain storm). Their clean up is average. They took most of them, but left other branches in the yard. The worst part is their organizational skills. My 8am appointment was pushed off until 2pm. One of their arborists called it a 'snafu', and they didn't seem to care about any trouble it caused me, their customer. So, if you are taking off a day from work or planning other things in the day around your appointment time, watch out! They are not reliable for their timing. In addition, we ordered a pesticide treatment from them. It's been a month later, and still no application. When I talked to one of their arborists, he said, 'you still want that???' Again, the business organization could be improved, and their tree skills aren't good enough to make up for that. We will be trying other companies before we return to them. read more

I got seasoned firewood from this company. For the most part the wood was dry enough to burn, with a couple of really wet heavy pieces thrown in from the bottom of their pile. I didn't do a moisture test yet, but knocking many pieces together it seemed like most pieces sounded dry. As far as volume, you definitely get a full cord and then some. I stacked the wood and definitely got my 128 cubic feet worth. I did ask how they seasoned the wood, and like just about everyone else they pile it up for about a year or so. Any accomplished wood burner can tell you that is no way to properly season wood, so in actuality the wood I paid for is probably only 1/2 way seasoned. My recommendation for buying wood from anyone in Connecticut is to buy "seasoned" wood in the Spring, store it exposed to sun/wind all summer and then it will be good to go by winter. 4 stars. 3 stars for excellent service, delivering the wood within 24 hours of my call, and 1 extra star for selling the seasoned wood at a reasonable price. They don't get a final star because the seasoning is a little suspect. read more

Wallingford Tree Service arrived early for our appointment to remove 2 damaged trees in our yard. One was a blue spruce another a maple. They had 4 trucks with them and 5 men wielding chainsaws made light work of the job. We even requested that they remove a stump by had and they did, happily! The job was fairly priced and was completely in less than an hour! This review is long overdue. John and his crew were excellent after the tornado in Wlfd. in 2018! John arrived on our property the next morning after my phone call. 13 trees were down. He communicated with me several times a day, he was true to the timelines he gave, every crew member was respectful and nice, they executed the monster job quickly and their clean up was superb, they even vacuumed up the wood chips! We have used John and Wallingford Tree for over 25 years. From huge jobs, to small jobs, that others did not even call back on. He is honest, reliable, professional and worth the bit extra. Others may be less in cost. But, the quality of service, is much less from those "others". We, made the mistake once of using a less expensive service when we moved. Never again anyone but John and his crew at Wallingford Tree. He, went above and beyond for not marring my husbands beloved lawn. He, shows up on time, completes the job and cleans up perfectly. I'm surprised that Wallingford Tree Service received a very high rating! It's true our condominium complex have contracted Wallingford Tree Service for several years now, but in all these years they have selectively chosen what to work with. I feel that Wallingford Tree Service knows how to work the system True, they charge/outbid other competitors but sadly, "we get what we pay for". Other homeowners have request to hire other company, but unfortunately (it still) falls on deaf ears. If you are a condominium complex, be aware and beware of this company. read more

This Wallingford Tree Service accessed my property to reach a neighbor's Tree without my permission back in January. I called and sent pics of the damage the trucks caused to my lawn and sidewalk to Owner-John came out back then, saw him on my Ring doorbell, never came back or called. Called him yesterday (May) and he turns up hostile, refusing to help, claiming my neighbor says I am intimidating and the problem. This is not how you treat people where you are in the WRONG! Terrible service. DO NOT SUPPORT People who treat you like you are nothing and less then a human when you have done nothing wrong. read more

Angry, Angry, Angry, They were supposed to come on June 8, 2018 to do my trees, they blew me off for other priorities due to tornado that month. They blew me off the second appointment time for scheduling conflicts, they blew me off the third time for same reason. Now here we are Sept 10 waiting again for them to show up. I have receive no phone call from them, it is 8:34 am and they were suppose to be here at 8:am. I have limbs hanging over my house, I already had one limb fall and punch a hole in my roof. Now I am trying to avoid that again. If he came when he was suppose to in June all this anger would have been avoided. I don't know how many others he blew off like he did me, but I would never ever think to call for this companies service again. Bad business dealings, bad business. We called Wallingford Tree Service on the recommendation of an employee who had used them several times and had good experiences. They were very professional during the entire process; from coming to give an estimate to providing written proposal and certificate of insurance. The crew arrived promptly at 8:00AM and went straight to work taking down several trees on our company's property and cutting/trimming many limbs that were hanging over the building. We were very impressed with the team work they displayed throughout the day and the relentless drive they had to get the job done in a timely and, more importantly, safe manner. The clean up afterward is also worth noting as they left no twigs or evidence they had been there. There were no limb indentations or tire marks left on the lawn It was obvious that they cared about the job they do and customer satisfaction. We plan on calling them back again in the fall to clear a lot. We would highly recommend Wallingford Tree Service and give them an A+++ rating. T. We had them come over to our house and cut down 15 trees and then remove the stumps. They were great. They were neat as a pin. Our neighbor is really a neat freak and we had to have them drive their trucks on his front lawn. They put down large thick plastic slabs and drove on his lawn. No problems at all. They were neat as a pin. When they left you would never know that they were there. I(n fact, because of the job that they did they got four more jobs from neighbors down the street. read more
