    Fondue!!
    Rachael A.

Came here after searching all of Zürich for good Fondue but everywhere else had a very long wait. I thought the fondue was ok... was definitely not the best I've ever had but it was good. The bread was lacking flavor and was dry. However, the service was excellent.

This restaurant is amazing! The food & service was great! Lily our waitress was wonderful. We had their Swiss cheese fondue and wine earlier for lunch during a tuk tuk tour and came back for dinner. The albs Cordon Bleu mit Kräuter Pommes Frites Crumbed (tender veal filled with ham & tasty cheese, fries) and also the Kalbsgeschnetzeltes Zürcher Art mit Rösti (Veal sauté with mushrooms in a creamy sauce with a shredded potato). Then for dessert the dark chocolate fondue with assorted fruit and marshmallow. Lily was very kind to offer us to sample 3 wines before choosing a bottle. They have a coat rack when you walk in. Atmosphere was casual but nice. They even have private cable cars outside for up to 4 that you can reserve but are not heated although if having fondue it will warm it up a bit from the sternos heat. Easiest way to get there is taking tram to Rudolf Bryn Brucke stop and walk a couple blocks thru old town. Will definitely come back!!!

Came as a solo traveler - got great service. Ordered the original cheese fondue - only was ok. It tasted like they didn't cook out all of the alcohol.

Awesome ambience. Fondue and service were outstanding. Cordon bleu well balanced. My go to Restaraunt when I'm Zurich.

As Americans not familiar with Swiss local cuisine, our party of 4 enjoyed our cheese fondue immensely!

As it was our first time eating raclette, we asked our server to walk us through the menu. Lily was exceedingly helpful in explaining the differences in cheeses and their flavors, and she was also very attentive and checked in on us throughout the meal. I noticed that her welcoming demeanor was also shared by her colleagues who were waiting on the other tables around us. My family took Lily up on her recommendations, and we ordering one Klara and one Willi, each with a side of sausages, as well as one original tarte flambé and one vegi tarte flambée. The food was all very delicious!! My personal highlights from the meal were the sausage dipped in the Willi cheese along with the onions and potatoes that were served with the dish. The tartes also had very thin, yummy crusts topped with raclette cheese. The side of pickles provided a tangy contrast to the rest of the meal which I liked. We ended our meal with a warm chocolate cake and lemon sorbet. I'm not really one for alcohol, so I found the vodka in the sorbet to be a bit too strong for me. However, the chocolate cake with the jam and vanilla ice cream was very good and had just the right amount of chewiness. I wish that I could replace my local Cheesecake Factory with a Raclette Factory instead so that I could enjoy Swiss cheese melted over bread, sausages, and potatoes all the time. Oh well, perhaps it's just another excuse to visit Switzerland again one day :)

Yelp Review 2026 #76:…read more "Did you know that hard cheese fondues DO NOT contain LACTOSE? Only our Adler fondue contains lactose due to the soft cheese." - Swiss Chuchi Menu Located in the quieter touristy part of Zürich called Niederdorf is a Swiss restaurant, Swiss Chuchi - on the first floor of Hotel Adler Zürich. There's a lot of Swiss/ fondue restaurants to choose from. Honestly, I wasn't sure I wanted to eat here so I didn't make a reservation. When I made up my mind, it was too late to make one so, we went anyway and stood in line. The wait wasn't too bad. After 12 minutes of waiting, we got seated outside. They have seasonal items, cheese fondue, chicken or beef fondue, soup, salad, raclette, vegetarian dishes, one fish dish, veal, chicken, beef, and beef liver. I don't recall seeing dessert on the menu. Zwiebelsuppe mit Blätterteighaube: Swiss onion soup with a savory cheesy puff pastry top. Allow at least 10 minutes to enjoy this after ordering. The best onion soup I've ever had. So good - like a warm hug on a cold evening. 5/5 Hausgemachte Spargelsuppe: Home-made asparagus soup. A seasonal item that was available in the spring. This was a good soup too but pales in comparison to the onion soup. Since this is only available in the spring and not whole year round, you know they're using fresh ingredients. 4/5 Fondue mit schwarzem Trüffel: Cheese fondue with black truffle, white wine, cherry liquor and garlic. Can it get any better than this? I think not. They give you a basket of pieces of bread to dip into hot bubbly cheese. Be sure to scrape the bottom and stir the cheese so it doesn't burn. 4.5/5 Fondue Chinoise, fein geschnittenes Rindfleisch, 200g zum selbst garen in heisser Rindsbrühe: Fondue Chinoise, 200g thinly sliced beef for you to cook in a beef broth. Comes with six sauces: barbecue, garlic, chimichurri, tartar sauce, sweet & sour and curry) as well as Silverskin onions, baby corn, pickled gherkin. With one choice of side dish: Chips, Rice or French fries. I chose fries which I dipped into the truffle fondue. My favorite dipping sauce was the garlic sauce. The beef took a long time to cook. But it was tender though. 4/5 Service was good. They're very busy and the servers are doing the best they could without sacrificing time spent to make diners feel welcome.

The popular Wiedikerli dish was pan fried sausage with lean pork, served with savory gravy with a side of Rosti. This was a 10/10 last meal that made my last night. Yelp Review 2026 #48:…read more Housed in an old armory, Zeughauskeller is a popular restaurant for mostly tourists. It does get pretty busy so, reserving a table would be the smart thing to do. Unless, you walk in during odd hours. Swiss food is not popular for being tasty and having bold flavors. Unless you intend to just eat cheese and chocolate, Swiss food is rather forgettable. Highly influenced by German cuisine, expect things like wienerschnitzel, bratwurst, pork shank, etc. Sausage with Potato Saiad: All their sausage is served with potato salad but you can sub it out with French fries or rosti. The sausage was nice. The potato salad was surprisingly good. 4/5 Cordon Bleu: You get a choice between veal and pork. I chose pork. The description on their menu says "tender pork escalope, filled with ham and SPICY Gruyère cheese, fried crispy". There was no spice at all. LOL. The ham was probably 2 thin slices. There are other Swiss restaurants in Zurich that makes better cordon Bleu. 3/5 The service was quite slow. We waited for our server to come over. They sent the only English-speaking server to handle like 7 tables. It's definitely a one and done. Come here for the vibes, not for the food.

With it's friendly service, good food and amazing ambiance, it was my favorite restaurant of our trip. We decided to order the Raclette and the Truffle Butter Fondue (39 CHF). The raclette was served with boiled potatoes and it was really fun being able to watch your own raclette melting at your table on the melter. While I enjoyed the raclette, I enjoyed the Truffle Butter Fondue even more. It was served with pieces of baguette bread and the fondue was so creamy and flavorful. It definitely had a strong truffle flavor which I really enjoyed. Just as enjoyable as the food was the ambiance. Chasalp is located on a hill overlooking Zurich so you have a nice view of the city as you walk from the parking lot to the restaurant. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available but with how beautiful the scenery was, we definitely had to sit outside. Cows roam around the lush green grass as you enjoy your meal and everything feels so peaceful and serene. Our servers were very friendly and helpful and checked on us often to make sure everything was okay. While we didn't have any kids with us, the outdoor space also looked to be kid-friendly with a nearby swing set for children to use along with crayons and drawing sheets at the table to keeps kids occupied. I had such a wonderful and relaxing experience and definitely recommend it if you're in Zurich and looking for a delicious fondue option.

Animal Style French Fries were a good try. Def not like the original but so far from home it was a nice find. This restaurant isn't for Americans. Way too expensive for what we eat all the time but I compare this place to the Melting Pot in the US. That place is so overpriced but it's amazing to get your cheese fondue fix. I can't imagine Swiss people coming to the US and eating at our expensive version of cheese fondue. Service was ok.
