We took a vacation recently to Brigantine, NJ and decided to take surf lessons for the first time…read more Myself, my boyfriend, my 12 year old daughter, my best friend and her 10 year old son all took lessons with Primal Surf. The entire experience from start to finish was awesome! We decided to visit the surf shop before our lessons. They were on point with their COVID rules. Masks required, limiting the number of customers, hand sanitizer upon entering, and social distancing inside the store. They had a great selection of boards, bathing suits, SPF products, PuraVida bracelets, and more. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The owners Mike and Susan were super nice and we enjoyed talking to them. Our surf lessons were great! The instructors were awesome! Encouraging, fun, knowledgeable, and patient. I was nervous going into our lesson, but our instructor Jack had me popping up on that board in no time! We had a BLAST! My daughter went a few days later for another lesson. The waves were bigger and more intimidating and she was ready to quit. After a pep talk from myself, Susan, and her instructor Mike Doherty, she went back out. And she did it! She stayed closer to shore where she was more comfortable and her instructor Mike was SO PATIENT with her. He kept reassuring her that she was doing great and that he would be there with her for each wave. I can't thank them enough for making our first time (and Lulu's second time) an awesome and fun experience! If we ever make it back to Brigantine, we will be sure to visit Primal Surf again!

The shoppes had everything from amazing chocolate dipped strawberries to baby clothes to wine tasting. There's even a cute carousel for toddlers that my daughter went on. I was happy to learn that there's multiple events going on here for the different holidays and upcoming weekends. The locals mentioned that the busiest time of the year was now through December . There's a holiday light show around December that they said to come back for. I loved everything about this place and will be back for the holidays. I did some shopping and got some sweets , newborn clothes and wine while I was here, can't wait to come back.

The wait for 2 people was 45mins around 2pm, but as we finished eating around 330pm the restaurant was getting emptier. Food was average. There isn't much for kids to do. Just a carousel, s'mores, train ride ($4 per person for a 5min ride) and the talking tree. You can do everything in under an hour and everything is more fun after dark of course. I was very excited for the "light show," which was extremely underwhelming. There was maybe 20ish little trees made of lights, spread out around the lake area and they were flashing synced with songs. Seriously... that is it... Lake was dried out so maybe that took away from the experience ? Doubt it. My partner and I had a great time, but it is not somewhere I would like to visit more then once.

Until I discovered CHIC BOUTIQUE--life changing! The inventory of beautiful clothes is so vast that I always walk out of there with a minimum of 2 shopping bags, (which is unheard of for me if I shop elsewhere-- I don't even like to shop!!) The owners have a great eye and buy beautiful garments to stock in their lovely boutique. But even beyond that, it's the high-touch customer service that keeps me coming back to this spot. The 2 ladies who run the store are exceptional. They give just the right amount of service: not too much where you feel like they're pushing you to buy something, but enough that they're always ON IT. They help you find things that would look great on you and they always take your armful of clothes to the dressing room so you don't have to schlep them around while you're browsing. It is the perfect amount of assistance. They also give honest feedback in the dressing room ranging from: "That looks amazing on you!", to "Nope. I don't love it. Here, give it to me, I'll put it back for you."; so there is no hard-sell with this shopping experience. I honestly feel like I have my own personal assistant whenever I shop there. They are truly a delight to work with and they have helped me SO much. The experience is so wonderfully atypical that I don't even bother to shop anywhere else anymore. This is my one and only go-to place because it's that successful, every time. Ask for Meredith or Andrea when you go and I'm sure they'll make your experience exceptional like they do for everyone. CHIC BOUTIQUE is a rare find. And I never take the time to write a review, but these 2 ladies really do deserve the props.
