My parents have a second home in Canada while primarily residing in the Seattle area. In Seattle, they shop at Whole Foods and the local Indian grocery store for their groceries. I was bemused when they mentioned this Walmart is their go to grocery store here in Canada. The service is impeccable at this Walmart. My parents were picking up a gift card for their landscaper and they were out of the little envelopes and the cashier was so apologetic. This Walmart is so clean as well and they have an ample produce section with fresh veggies. They have such great variety that my parents don't need to go to an Indian grocery store with opa squash and eggplant as part of their selection. My parents picked up a delicious pound cake tonight (that went into a scrumptious trifle) from this Walmart too made by an Indian food company called Cripsy that was moist and not overly sweet. If only this wasn't so far from home I would be frequenting them frequently too! read more

I took my CO2 canister in to exchange it at Customer "Service." The Indian staff member charged me full price for the new canister and did not return my deposit for the empty canister. When I realized how expensive it was, I asked why she hadn't deducted the cost of the empty canister. She said, "The system doesn't allow us to do that anymore." Since she hadn't paid for my empty canister, I asked for it back. She refused to give it back multiple times, arguing with me about it. I said, "OK, then if I return the new canister, can I have my empty one back?" She agreed and went and got the empty one. Then I said, "OK, I'm taking my empty one and the one I paid for." She tried to stop me and said I wasn't ALLOWED to take the product I had already paid FULL PRICE for. I explained that the empty canister was mine and the new canister was also mine because I had paid for it. She didn't agree, but I insisted that she had no right to force me to return the product I had purchased. I can't believe how STUPID, INCOMPETENT, and racist these people are. They clearly despise anyone who isn't one of their own, which is why they won't hire anyone from a culture that grasps the concept of SERVING CUSTOMERS. read more

This is one of my go-to Walmart for groceries or other household items, my latest purchase of a Midea Portable A/C from this store further enhanced my positive experience! Staffs here are always friendly & helpful, and I can always find the items I wanted, they even stock my Panasonic Shaver replacement blades which is not easy to find! Customer service station is extra helpful when I asked for assistance with carrying out the A/C! The staff on duty made sure I get the help I wanted! Kudos to all the hard working staffs!! read more

I hardly return stuff in stores or have much interaction with customer service desk so I was surprised when the customer service managers (there are quite a few wearing the yellow vests indicating they are managers) told me I can return items bought from other Walmart stores BUT I cannot get a price adjustment. Their reason is different Walmart stores may have different items on promo etc. I was told I need to bring the items to return and then buy them again at the lower price. This is pretty much the most ridiculous thing I have heard. The managers did not even bother to see the items or the receipt. So I bought the stuff and I checked the item code. Exactly the same!!! I brought the items back to return. Then they told me if I return food (I returned packaged chocolates, obviously unopened), they have to bin it. It was a different manager on duty and I informed her I was told to do that by her coworkers. She then said she could do the price adjustment so I need not return the items. Now I got two different messages. I told her she might want to tell her supervisor to better train the staff on policy instead of telling customers to waste gas and time to do something that will add to the food waste. Keshvi was unprofessional and called a customer a liar then she proceeded to talk to all other employees at self checkout without monitoring everyone else and wanted to get their stories straight so she would not get in trouble. The staff were huddled and did Not focus on the rest of the customers. Then when it was reported to manager on duty they said that the person was not telling truth about discussion. The customer had a lot of witnesses. Keshvi needs to speak to customers appropriately. Please keep her away from customers if she continues speaking to customers in this manner. I've been to this Walmart to get my Sodastream tank exchanged and 85% of the time they don't have them. It's best if they keep the tanks on the shelves where we can see them so that we don't waste time lining up only to find out they don't have them. Superstore, SaveOn and Canadian Tire has them on their shelves and very convenient to get at. Maybe try this so you don't disappoint customers. If you can't, have the purchaser order enough based on sales. read more

This Walmart looks really old and that was my first impression. Ceiling quite low too. Felt very squeezed. This is a two floor Walmart located inside the Royal City Center Mall (which is a senior mall). There are couple entrances and exit inside Walmart. It has what you expect here. They even sell groceries. But this Walmart is somewhat small. Its an interesting walk inside. Not crazy busy and other area you will find people or more people is at the grocery section. read more

This is the Walmart Photo Studio just before the 2nd entrance of the main store. Don't expect some high end, fancy or artistic looking shots. For those, I'd hire a real professional who specializes in that. What you'll get here is a simple background, decent lighting and photos that doesn't look like it was taken with a simple point and shoot camera. I wanted some casual family pictures without any frills for cards. They were able to get my daughter to look at the camera and smile. The staff were very patient and friendly with us. Walmart store 1192 at 610 Sixth Street, New Westminster BC Walmart has no customer service. The entire organization from the store level to its head office in Mississuaga, Ontario are all incompetent, don't care and rotten to the core. This was my Walmart experience. 1. They care more about their merchandise than their customers. While lined up at the check out, I was assaulted (punched in the face) by a customer who obvious had issues and the staff were more concerned if the assailant paid for her merchandise than if I was okay. 2. Since the staff did not do anything. They just stood and chatted. I called the police (file #22-7910) and asked for the store manager. The store manager arrived, stood there with a dead pan look in his face and did absolutely nothing except stare into space. 3. Store manager was incompetent. When the police officer requested the video footage of the incident, Cowan (spelling) the store manager failed to provide the full footage as indicated by the police officer. The police officer contacted me later to inform me that the footage did not capture the incident. I later contacted Cowan who informed me there was complete footage however he neglected to provide it to the police. 4. Walmart did not take the incident seriously. In fact, my impression was they took it as a joke. I escalated my complaint to their head office. I contacted them several times to speak to a head office manager and only got lip service of a promise of a call back. The incident occurred on May 30, 2022 and I am still waiting for that call (August 1, 2022). I have never experienced such incompetence and not even a apology from Walmart. Their way of handling issues is to ignore, ignore and ignore and the issues will go away. Or they just don't care. In all the years I've shopped at various places, I've NEVER experienced such incompetence and "don't give a SH-T attitude". Unbelievable. read more

The bathrooms are disgusting-and it's not dirty disgusting! For such a large company you'd think they'd reflect their success in their bathroom facilities. Although points must be awarded for the touchless water tap controls, ya gotta wonder why their stall doors have the cheapest slide locks known to man that barely close and a funky brown stained never ending styled sink that more resembles a urinal than clean up area. Soap dispensers are the regular press button variety and main bathroom access is door free. Today's cashier was the last thing from cheery and seemed more concerned with chatting with another staff member regardless to the long line of people waiting and had to be prompted by me with the debit machine since he wasn't paying attention during the transaction. The scrubs I came here for seemed limited to black in quality and slightly cheaper (last year's price/stock?) than any other walmart I've visited (visited the following three locations multiple times recently: N. 2.5 STARS Went to get my two daughters' photos taken at the photo studio. I had set up an appointment at 10 am. We arrived on time and the doors were locked and the room was dark. There was another guy wanting to get passport pictures done with his kid and he had to go to customer service to get someone to open the door and get to work. Photos were cute, but waiting around wasn't. The bathroom in this Walmart is just nasty. Walmart wasn't very busy when we arrived today, but the bathroom looked liked it hadn't been taken care of in a long time. One stall was out of order, one wouldn't lock, one had shit stains all around it and the handicap washroom was missing a hook to put your bag(s) and had (kids?) hand prints on the wall. Guess which stall I used. The rest of the store seemed clean and well staffed. This location has plenty of cashiers working so that the line ups move quickly, even in the mornings. My biggest issues are with the photo studio and washrooms, the rest of the Walmart is fine. read more

Came here looking for two products. The staff didn't know where the items would be in the store. We finally tracked one item down ourselves, but they were all out even though the website says this store has it in stock. Wandered through the aisles and couldn't find anyone to help us. It was deserted. Finally cornered one staff member who did not want to help us and paged the outdoor goods staff to come back to their department. We waited, no one came. I grabbed a basketball and loudly and obnoxiously played basketball up and down the aisles in hopes a staff member would show up to reprimand me. Still no one gave a sht. Terrible and annoying customer service. I just wanted to confirm if they had an item for my nieces birthday. They took my call pretty quick and said they had 4 in stock but will check and make sure. I was on hold for 20 mins and after 20 mins, I got hung up on. I called again and they put me straight on hold again without saying anything for another 10 mins. Someone then answered and said my name (probably from caller ID) and said she still looking........so that meant someone knew it was me and knew I'm still waiting. And another 5 mins goes by finally they tell me they have the item in stock with no apology. Now I was in a rush because I didn't think it would take 45 mins just to confirm an item was in stock, so I told them to put it on hold. They then asked me for my name again and ask how to spell it.......love the products not the service. read more

You always have to take in consideration you are shopping at Walmart, but this is the WORST Walmart in my opinion. If you enjoy large, wandering crowds who block aisles, a non-sensical store layout, and parking lot chaos that rivals Richmond, then you are at the right place. I only come here when I am in the area and need to get some basics. Today, though, I had the weirdest experience ever, and I need to warn the public about this Walmart's practices, particularly of a guy named Khaja and the way that management handles their staff. I paid for my items at the til today and as usual produced my credit card. I was then asked for my photo ID, which seemed unusual since I had a pin card, but I gave my id (my interim DL) anyway, assuming he needed to verify it for fraud purposes. He was friendly enough so I didn't question him, and his English wasn't very good so I decided to just go along with it. He then proceeded to punch in my information, and it raised red flags. He asked me to verify my address, which I did, and then after getting all my personal info he then told me I was getting $25 bonus. My husband then realized what he was doing and told him to stop! We are NOT signing up for a credit card! We walked away and were do disturbed we returned to the store to complain to the store manager. While in line I noticed Khaja actually did this to more unscrupulous customers with no shame. The manager went to talk to Khaja (I accompanied her even though she didn't want me there), and Khaja denied it all, saying he told me what it was for. She assured me that my info was safe and the application was not completed, but to me this was not satisfactory. I have filed an official complaint with Walmart and will provide followup. I've never been signed up for a credit card before like this, and cashiers always ask if you are interested. The manager didn't seem surprised, as if this was store practice, or something Khaja always did. Is it weird to have a favourite Walmart? No. In fact, I think it is weird to *not* have a favourite Walmart. You can probably guess where this is going... Upon moving to the GVA, my immediate goals were clear: find a place to live, a doctor, and Walmart. I don't need much :) This Walmart is a superstore, with a big food section and all the normal Walmart necessities. The layout is familiar, which is a big plus for me - easy to find what you need. The food is really well priced, especially compared to my usual downtown grocers (to be expected). The fruit is better than I've had at other Walmarts, though not fancy. It's clean, well-organized, and I've never run into things being out of stock. The lines aren't too bad, and it's easy to get around, even with a giant cart. This plaza can get overwhelming (there's a lot here!), and is a bit out of the way, but for a day of errand running, no complaints! read more

This review is only for the automotive dept.; specifically, winter tires. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Went in to get winter tires for my car. I checked their website and found that Nexen WG Sport winter tires were in stock (http://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/nexen-wgsport-215-45-17/10045668#). Upon arrival, the associate was playing off a joke a customer mentioned. Customer: "These tires won't fly off my car, will they?" Associate: "Yea, we had that happen to some customers." He shouts to a mechanic: "The tires on on tight this time right?" I'm a customer going in to be safe on the road. That was the last thing I wanted to hear. As a salesman, he should have ignored that comment; not build upon it. Anyways, I asked if my size was in stock. They were not. Even though the Nexen tires were displayed on the shelves with prominent price tags, I was told that Walmart no longer carries this brand nationwide because their contract expired. I was also told that of ALL the All-Season tires on display in the shop, that none of them were in stock. They only carried winter tires. So I ask which winter tires were available for my vehicle. They had nothing available. They would be getting a shipment in at the end of the month, but he didn't know what would be in that shipment. Summary: 1) They don't carry tires that are mentioned as in-stock on their website. 2) They don't sell any of the tires that are displayed on their shelves. 3) They don't know what shipments they will be getting. Bought a black web blue tooth speaker a month ago from this location and now it won't charge. I called the store and explained I don't have the receipt as I expected the speaker to last but I have the packaging. I was told even if I had the receipt it's past the 14 days. I contacted head office & was told it's at the stores discretion. All I wanted was an exchange not a refund. Now I'm sitting on a $90 paper weight. The least preferred walmarts in GVRD, not only is it a hassle to get there via the queensborough bridge or the highway, but the shoppers entering/leaving fr the front, crossing the street, one really has to be careful. And being in a so-called outlet shopping, though I don't know of anyone who really gets excited shopping here, parking's always a premium here. Shopping experience at Walmart at the age of 90. My mom does her regular shop on Saturdays. She always takes her items to a regular check out. She needs help bagging her items. She asked the cashier to help her, Reply NO. She was slow at bagging and became upset. Still no help in site. She told me on the way to the car what had happened. I called customer service. I was told this is new policy. Checked with Walmart Canada later...Not as far as they know. I needed clarification so I asked to speak to a manager. I was put on hold. 5 mins later still on hold. I proceed into the store. Phone to my ear just in case I missed them picking up my call. I arrived a customer service. Two in line needing help and 2 people helping. I was now at the front counter. Guess what...the customer service manager said, Can I help you? Yes, I said you can take me off hold since I am now standing right in front of you. Started with one complaint now I have two. Body language told me everything I needed to know. She knew she had a phone call. Second new policy at Walmart leave a complaining customer on hold so the finally hang up an go away. Guess what Mom went on Tuesday still did not pack her items. Even thought I was told by the Customer service manager they pack items for elderly customers. Mom likes to be independent. She want to do things on her own but still needs a little help. I respect that . I have called Walmart Canada to get a clear answer. This is the only Walmart in the Royal City. It is alright, but it lacks the express lane queue that other Canadian Walmarts have. It reminds me of the old stand-alone stores down South (USA) that were closed for new Supercentres. I don't get why this freestanding location wasn't built as a Supercentre to begin with since it wasn't a Woolco originally. The customer service people are very incompetent. How do you NOT know where Texas is ("Can't find Texas in Canada anywhere")? Trying to buy a money order through Western Union felt like going to the dentist, getting a root canal, and then having to redo the root canal again. Took a total of 35 minutes for the transaction to be complete. Previous to that day, we were told Western Union doesn't charge for sending money. Too good to be true. Most of the time, the announcements come on and you have no idea what in the world they are saying. Maybe it's some sort of code so that only Walmart staff understand. I came in with the intent to buy a TV, I even mentioned this to the guy on the floor ("I`m here to buy a tv!") who was dressed in all black and looked like a manager. He was of NO HELP and seemed to make every effort to ignore us after telling us the TV we wanted was out of stock! At one point I asked him what the difference was between two similar same brand TV sets, and he said one was a Smart TV and one was not, and that was the only difference. He also referred to both as a "Series 6", however they were not, and had many differences including some major ones. Having nobody help us, we picked out the TV we wanted and again looked for him for help as it was locked up with a security device (Spider). He called a stock person from the back who not only was extremely helpful and informative, but also checked us out at the registrar and informed us of the extended warranty protection plan (Which I bought). He then offered to help us to our car which was very kind but unnecessary and then directed us and another customer to other products we were looking for.
