I went to pick up some prescriptions, but 2 of them weren't ready, so I waited for about 15 minutes or so and came back to the cashier to pick them up. That's when I was told their system was down and they couldn't finish processing my order. Since I use public transit for the handicapped and I had a few minutes before pickup time, I asked the lady at the counter how long it would take for the system to come back on line and she said it would take 15-20 minutes. Since I had the time, I told her I'd like to wait. After 20 additional minutes, an announcement came over the store's PA system saying that all transactions were cash-only since the store's entire system had crashed. Realizing that I had ample cash to pay for my order, I approached the check-out counter and informed the cashier that I had sufficient funds to pay cash, but she still refused to fill my order. When I protested that I was using para-transit services, and I would have to make a second trip, somebody called out from behind the counter, "Ahhh, he doesn't have a car", and everybody called out from behind the counter, "Ahhhhh" all in unison! I have never in all my 70 years been shown such extreme contempt and disrespect for the elderly and disabled such as myself. I have already moved all my prescriptions to another pharmacy, and I will never shop at another CVS ever again. I would strongly advise all others to do the same.

It was not a disaster, but it did feel like someone had stepped away mid-shift. The rest of the store looked fine, even though I was not shopping for much today. The softlines section was in good shape. Shelves were fluffed and folded, and everything looked reasonably organized. No trash on the floor, no abandoned items tucked into corners. It felt like someone had done a decent walk-through earlier in the day. There were enough registers open to keep things moving, and I did not have to wait in line. No fuss, no delay. Overall, it was an OK experience. Not perfect, not memorable, but serviceable. The kind of visit that neither impresses nor disappoints. Just a quick stop that did what it needed to do. They have a really inefficient process that requires the customer to wait in line to get their prescription, then go wait in another line to get the rebate/discount, then go back to the first line to pay.
