I returned the lens back a few days earlier just because I wasn't going to be able to bring it back on the due date, and they refunded for the days I'm not using it for, so that was really cool. I was expecting to eat the cost! I definitely will be renting from them again.

So now, when I plan to travel somewhere I will rent lenses (sometimes cameras, too) from Aperturent. To pack light, so I don't pay airline baggage fees, I rent the 24-240 Sony zoom lens. So I don't have to take the 20-70 and 70-300 lenses (which take up bag space) with me. I can slide my 'personal item' (small bag) under the seat in front of me. Yes, renting the lens can be cheaper than paying a baggage fee in both directions. When I want to photograph planes or bird, I rent the Sony 200-600 (a heavy beast of a lens). You must rent for a minimum of three days. But since they don't charge for the weekend, I can pick up a rental late Wednesday and keep it until Monday close of business (thus getting five days for the cost of three).
