Update to this: the parts were fixed to factory standard and my rewind spool was from another camera. When they fixed it I was at a loss and therefore didn't know. After talking to them I was able to confirm how it works when I received it and it purrs like a kitten. Thanks guys! To preface: where I'm at doesn't have shops that repair cameras and Atlanta is a chief place to do so. Upon my Yashica hitting the pad of death during a work trip after never being serviced in its 70 years of life I called a bajillion places in the Atlanta area. This place was the only one to give a competitive price and time frame. While others were more reputable imo the price didn't reflect that whatsoever and I ended up taking the long uber north to see if they could save my go to rangefinder. They're super nice small company and while their communications is scant especially response time which I assume is due to everyone working on a camera it did have me worried. I was semi assuaged by the fact that not only did the pad sound solid but the camera looked beautiful and I could tell they took the time to clean every inch of my admittedly beat up worse than a "Toyota hilux on top gear" body. Where I was disappointed was the fact that they either overlooked or reassembled my top plate improperly and it made it through qc as my rewind dial was near bolted down to the top plate with no wiggle whatsoever and he door stuck as well. Now could this have been the brand new seals and the camera was used to its loose nature over the years prior to me getting it, maybe but this was essentially inoperable. Upon reconnecting with them they were quite apologetic and offered me a return label and check free of charge which I did appreciate. It's currently coming back now so we'll see how it is. Overall it could've easily been a 5 had it not encountered this new problem. I'd consider sending more product but still do now wanna try my initial top 5 options before making this my go to. read more

I sent my camera to be repaired. They said they fixed it. They said i used the wrong sd card so i bought a 4gb card as instructed. I got it back installed the 4gb card and and it did exactly what it did before. Nothing. I called this company and ask for a picture of the correct sd card and they promised to snap a Pic to me via email. I never heard from them again. read more

I brought my 1957 Leica M3 DS to them for CLA. The price was a little high, but reasonable for that camera and that type of work. The turn-around time was good (about three weeks), but when I got the camera back there was a problem with the film wind-on lever "slipping". I took it back to them and although they weren't particularly apologetic, they took the issue seriously and fixed it fairly quickly and at no additional cost. So I still recommend them, because even when things don't go perfectly, they do the right thing and make things right. I'll definitely use them again! read more

One of my Nikon F5 film camera bodies was no longer powering up, so I contacted CSC via email to see if they would be able to service the camera, as many companies no longer perform repairs on this model. CSC's initial response to my inquiries were very quick and professional. Unfortunately, things devolved from there. The camera was returned about five weeks later in less than 100% working order. While the camera would now power up, the AF system had not been calibrated and one of the LEDs in the viewfinder would no longer light up. I contacted them and they promptly sent a return label. After a few weeks, the camera was returned to me. They successfully calibrated the autofocus system but failed to repair the viewfinder LED. I sent them an email message about the problem but did not receive a response. About two weeks later I followed up with a phone call. The person I spoke with said the film camera technician was out of the office and would not be returning until the following week and was told they would contact me then. They never called. I followed up with another email message and still did not receive a response. I followed up with another phone call two weeks after I sent the message and they finally sent a return shipping label. After a few weeks I received an email message stating that they were unable to resolve the issue with the LED. CSC offered me a partial refund. I DO NOT recommend this camera repair facility. They are inept at camera repairs, do not provide good customer service and fail to respond in a timely manner. read more

I came in with a 1980-ish polaroid camera that I found at a thrift store and was looking to get some service. I was prepared to pay a few bucks since I got the camera for almost nothing. I tried my normal sensor cleaning tricks and ended up with just this unassailable smudge in the center of things. I had four small Canon cameras that needed repairs. I first took them to Peachtree Camera, where I was told that in order to fix the cameras, I'd have to send them directly to the Canon company. One of the cameras just needed screws . . . so they could fix that one for $100. I declined the repair and found Camera Service Company, Inc. They didn't hesitate to take all four cameras, and they repaired them all in a week! I had to LEAVE the binoculars there to hear the repair price later - which was $125. What's do these binoculars cost today? $60 tops, per Amazon (which sells several brands for less). My fist time here about 4 years ago, the service was good and on time. My 2nd visit in October of 2019 with several pieces of high end Canon gear was a disaster. It looked like everyone was new. She guy kept telling me it would be ready by [whatever day] and it never was. I had 3 camera bodies and 5 lenses in for cleanups and repairs. 6 of the items where never finished or repaired correctly after 2 months. Im still waiting on parts for 3rd camera body. I wish them well but this time around convinced me to go ahead and purchase a Canon Professional Services agreement with Canon and have my repairs done there. My boyfriend and I sent in our Sony A7III to be repaired. We were told they would fix it, but after a week were told they couldn't and we would have to send it in to Sony for a $75 diagnostics. They said they could do it for us, to which we agreed. We then asked for the results and they said they couldn't forward it to us legally because it was under their account that the diagnostics was made, and that they could only read it off to us. We would have easily sent it off ourselves directly had we known this. This should have been made known to us prior to being charged. read more

I had an old collapsible Leica lens that was hazy. I had been told by someone else that it could not be repaired. They were wrong. When the lens was returned to me it was spotless! I have since had them do another hazy Leica lens and couldn't be happier. They have also done light seals on numerous film cameras that I have. I was so amazed at their service I told my one and only camera shop here in Louisville about them. I then shipped them a camera on Monday the 4th of Oct. It arrived there on that Thursday. I visited Camera Service Co Inc. after dropping my camera and jamming the lens on a Nikon Coolpix L330. The camera would turn on, but the lens was stuck. This was an older model and I have had it for at least 5 years. The reviews on Yelp and Google made me decide to request a quote instead of ordering a used replacement online. Last Monday, I called in to inquire and the service from the employee that answered was pleasant, even for a phone call. He explained that they would take the camera and have a technician examine it and then phone me the next day with the quote, before performing the service. They did not charge a diagnostic fee or require a deposit for providing the quote (even if I decided not to have the camera fixed there). I decided to bring the camera around lunch time the same day, and the customer service was on par with the friendly service that I received on the phone. I received a copy of the receipt, which indicated the camera model number, date, my information and the things that were included with my camera at the time when I dropped it off (i.e. the camera strap, double a batteries). I kept the SD card. I received a call on Tuesday from the female technician with the quote. It was a bit pricier than I expected at $110, but I decided to proceed because I was not ready to upgrade my camera to a DSLR yet, and I did not want to purchase a used camera online (for a higher price with the risk of defects). I was advised of a 7-10 business day turnaround, and expected to receive the call for pickup around 1/22/20. I received the call this past Saturday 1/11/20, and picked it up right before closing at 1 PM. Also, the repair comes with a 3 month warranty as well, which is awesome and gives me more peace of mind. I was impressed with the condition of the lens. It looked clean and shiny and worked good as new! I would highly recommend Camera Service Co Inc. on the customer service alone! I can confidently say that I made the right decision. Consumer beware!!! In the day and age of customer service , this company has none. I walked in to the establishment, spoke to the young lady at the front to tell her that I was there to have my lens looked at. The young lady at the front desk seemed flustered and like she didn't know what she was doing. She sat down at the computer and started to ask me my phone number. I was perplexed because I had just told her that I was here to see someone about my lens. i redirected her and told her again that I have my lens with me. She then told me to leave my lens there for several days and someone would contact me. I have never been to an establishment where there wasn't some communication with a professional about the issue of a product that I've needed to be serviced, a guesstimated direction that we would move in based on preliminary thoughts and an approximated fee chart. The young lady at the front desk did not exude the knowledge, confidence or wherewithal that would make me comfortable enough to leave my $1000 lens with her for a professional sight unseen. I called back to ask to leave my number for someone to call me back when their time permited. The same young lady kept leaving me on hold. I asked to leave my contact information for a professional to call me back and the young lady declined to take my information and hung up. I was referred to this business and I along with the person who referred me will be seeking another camera shop. Customer service is paramount. read more

They are always friendly, PATIENT and they've always been knowledgeable and willing to explain what they are going to do, and what's been done to your gear. I have only been here a couple times, but so far have been happy with the service. They're pretty close to my house too which is convenient, especially given how few places there are that do camera repair work. I don't know how to rate the prices because I've never really had any repair work done anywhere else, but at the time, it felt reasonable. If you didn't know where to look for this place, you'd never find it. It's hidden behind Atlanta Road in a building that looks like it should've been condemmed about 20 years ago. However, this business has been around 1945, which means that they've been doing something right. I brought my camera there for the first time in early December when it stopped working. The price for fixing my camera was fair and was within the range of what I expected it to be... about $130. Here's the problem I had with the store: they are obviously in no rush to get anything done in the time estimate they give you. So, if you need your camera for a specific date, don't count on it being ready. I had to call them about 4 times before they finally had it ready. I was going out of town for Christmas and wanted it done before then (that's why I brought it there 3 weeks ahead of time). However, once I got the camera and left town, I realized that now the auto-focus was no longer working. It seems they were rushing to get it done and back to me, so they didn't bother double-checking if it actually worked. So, I brought it back and they did fix it (the second time) for free. Again, it took about 3 weeks to be ready (so, no camera for NYE either...). I do have to say that now that it's actually fixed, it seems to be taking better pictures than ever before. I guess the lesson is: they are good at what they do, as long as they have a long to get it done. I was referred to Camera Service Company by another local camera and repair shop. They promised quick and friendly service and I was not disappointed one bit. Yesterday, I dropped off my 70-200 with a broken rear mount (it had a little slip over the weekend) and was told they would call me back with an estimate once it was inspected. I received a call in less than one hour. And two hours after that, I received a call stating it was ready for pick up. When I picked up my lens, it was in perfect working order with sharp focusing. I couldn't be more pleased with how quickly they repaired my lens! The repair cost was fair and I didn't have to pay for shipping or wait for it to be sent off for repair with no status updates. I will absolutely bring my gear back to this shop if I ever have any repair needs. They also had a nice array of used camera bodies and lenses for sale. Nice eye candy to look at while I was talking with their folks about Nikon vs Canon. Overall fabulous experience!!! read more

Let me start by saying I'm a retired commercial photographer of fifty years and have delt with a number or repair services over the decades. My expectations of a repair service ar to do the work requested in a professional manner, thoroughly and completely. I learned of CSC after buying a piece of equipment they were selling on eBay. I only live three hors from their shop so I drove down to pick it up due to the size and weight of the equipment. The young lady at the desk was courteous and helpful and and tole me they were an authorized service center for several companies including Nikon, Canon and Rolleiflex. A couple of months ago I picked up a Rolleiflex 3.5 F, a 1960's 120 professional film camera. These cameras were and still are quite expensive and are the ultimate in precision professional film cameras. There was a still a roll of color film in it which helped date the last time it was used. I estimated that I hadn't been used for nearly fifty years. Cameras that sits that long develop issues. This camera had a stuck shutter, the focus was stiff, the meter not woking properly, there was debris in the lens and a number of other issues that needed to be addressed. I thought, well let's see if CSC can work on this camera since they're an authorized Rollei service center. I packed up the camera and shipped it to them and received an estimate of $399 in a few days. I approved the estimate and gave them my credit card number. The estimated time frame for the repair was a couple of weeks. No issue there. Now this is where the issues begin, I checked my credit crd statement and they charged the repair immediately on receipt of the information although they hadn't done the repair. At the end of a couple of weeks I checked to see if they had done the repair since I had been charged for it two weeks earlier but was told the tech was on vacation and it would be next week. Next week comes and no repair and more excuses. At four weeks the camera was shipped back. The I received the camera back the shutter was working fine but none of the other things had been done. The focus was still stiff, meter not working properly, debris in the lens and on and on. In addition it was obvious the camera tech had been inside the camera because it wasn't reassembled properly. The latches for the focusing hood that worked properly before shipping now would not hold the hood in place. I did a little exploration and discovered the springs that once held this in place were floating loose inside the mirror box and the mirror still had 50 years of dirt on it as well as the viewing and taking lenses. The tech had not even taken a second to clean the dirt off, amazing and extremely unprofessional. At this point I did not trust them to rectify the problems. I contacted CSC and the person that answers the phone convinced me to send it back and they'd fix it. Reluctantly I did. I was told it would be about a week and at the end of a week, more excuses came. Another week passes and are excuses. Finally I gave them an ultimatum that either my camera was back in my hands on a given date or I'd personally come down and pick it up. On the date I demanded the camera back, fixed or not, it did arrive with all but one of the issues fixed. Will I versed another camera to them, NO! Will I recommend them, NO! There's no excuse for the unprofessional level of service and customer service I had to deal with. If I could give negative stars I would give them a negative -2 stars. read more

They are very educated with cameras and can fix pretty much anything. But do not come here expecting them to care about your photography business and/ or your life. This company had me running in circles for a week straight not knowing when my camera would be ready and FAILED to mention that the part they needed to order was on backorder. Every time I would call they would say- "I'm sorry we will call you when it's ready." After telling me it would be ready Friday, then changing it to Saturday, then changing it to Tuesday, then changing it to Thursday, then finally calling Friday and telling me it's ready. With no explanation as to why until Thursday's breakdown. Unfortunately they are the only people in Atlanta that I trust with my gear. But definitely a sketchy location and insensitive staff. read more

When a spot spontaneously appeared on my digital camera monitor (and photos), I panicked, knowing what a rotten reputation camera repair shops have. I know, because I had researched them before, when my previous camera needed repair. Just try researching camera repair services online; you will be horrified at the reviews. My camera is a Panasonic, so that was the first place I researched. This is when the horror stories started. And, it never got better- until I decided to keep it closer to home and find a place I could go to and meet these people face-to-face, if a problem occured. The previous review of Camera Service Co is what led me to call and speak to the shop directly. Since they have been in business since 1945, I agreed they must be doing something right. But, I need my camera for some upcoming travel, so I needed it back fast. I discussed the Yelp review with Daniel and expressed my hope I would receive my camera back quicker than Jana had received her camera. Daniel assured me to he would see to it. He was quite nice and understanding, so I took a deep breath and sent the camera off via UPS, since the drive there and back would be longer than 21/2 hours roundtrip. That was on Thursday; they received the camera on Friday. Saturday morning, I received a message that the estimate to clean the camera (and remove from the sensor what was causing a spot on my photos) was $80; the exact amount Daniel quoted me on the phone (without shipping). The quote I received elsewhere online was $130. $80 for cleaning and $15 to ship it back UPS (exactly what it cost me to ship it to them; no extra "handling fees") and I would be good to go. Let me give you this advice if your product is Nikon. Send it straight to Nikon for repair, do not drop it off at this shop! I was given an estimate of 7-10 days, and 21 days later was still waiting. These guys are true artists when it comes to stalling, and making excuses for why your camera is not ready. They even told me they were ordering a part. When I called Nikon to complain, the representative said, "ask them where they order that part from." After complaining to Nikon, my camera was suddenly ready the next day. The problem was that it was obviously not cleaned, things were left undone.
